i guess that's true. anyways, as of now, i think all of them are very unmakardak singers. why should we imitate others if have great music and culture ourselves? if they and other talanted Armenian musicians weren't so lazy, as they are now, then they could have revised our own music and make it one of the most popular and respected in the world. (of course, there are people who do this and i'm proud of them.) but they choose to copy others because it's easier. i must confess in many cases i'm lazy myself. i guess it's just an Armenian "khasiat". well, i hope we won't lose our culture among those other influences.

thanks MosJan. i know it now. honesly said i don't like rabiz music at all. i like pure Armenian music. you know what i mean. BTW, there was one jewish guy that said: "But there are many Jewish rabiz singers already! where has rabiz originated from anyways? and what does the word itself mean? what i think is that it is just a common name for all non-Armenian music that is seen as Armenian folk. this is just what i think.

last year when we were talking about Nune almost everybody was complaining about her. now i see everybody is praising her. what has changed? (sorry if i'm wrong )

when somebody is changing his/her lastname, i don't see why he/she should keep the ending ian/yan. they are many modifications of Armenian lastnames that don't end with ian/yan but still have Armenian values. especially in Russia, I THINK (not sure), many people prefer to change the ending but keep the stem. on April 25, we orgonized an assembly in my HS. inviting almost all history classes, we tried to inform a little about Armenian Genocide. all teachers i talked afterwards told that they didn't expect it to be that great. so, congradulate us for succes.

i posted this in different section and all i got were two joky replies. but one more time. i heard that Independent Republic of Armenia of 1918 was the first country to give equal rights to women with men, including suffrage. has anybody have any ideas on this?

one interesting thing: if you read biographies of ancient Armenians (unfortunatly, there are not many) you'll find that many of those people had khartyash (redish, blondy, if i'm transtaling right) hair. but now, most of us have dark hair. as far as i know, green, blue (etc...) eyes are not common (if there are any) among middle easterns. am i right? if i'm, then if we are middle easterns then how come we have so many people with blue or green (other colors ) eyes. if i'm mistaken, please correct me.

besides all those things that you mantioned, i think there should be an emotional connection between friends. i don't mean anything drty.

after posting my last opinion i thought of something else. if we have that many similarities with different cultures, than why do assume that all that was borrowed from us and not the other way around. maybe WE were the center of all civilization. but we were so generous that we gave something to each one. wouldn't that be nice?

WOW i see you had some good times discussing it. Berj, i glanced thru the previews postings and came to a conclusion that Armenians are one big bowl of civilization where everybody contributed its share. and Armenians, kama te akama(in ARM.), accepted them(well, not always, but we did and still do). and i think that that contributions were not limited in one or two areas but included all acpects of life. just because we are located closer to middle easterns we had a little more impact from them. but of course europeans had great impact on us as well. this is just an opinion. i'll post more conclusions later. i was reading some old posts and saw this one. so this means Armenians have a little jew blood in them? i could feel that.

i agree with Anna. when i was in Armenia i had much more intresting life. every single minute of my life was full of something. here i get bored. in those two years that i have been in US, i didn't do anything that could be remembered. back to the topic. do you know if they are happy with their lives? do they enjoy the life in Armenia? because i want to move back to Armenia. as soon as i finish the college i'm going back. at least i dream so.

something like that happened with me. a year ago i was sitting in the classroom and one Russian girl, who had checked in a few days ago, started saying some mild bad words in Russian, unaware of that i understand Russian. when she finished i said to her (in russian) :"so you speak russian?" and she turned to red. it was preaty sad and funny.

i have been around here for a short time, so i don't know, have you discussed the ethnical roots of Armenians? i mean what race do we belong to? are we Europeans or Middle Easterns?........ this kind of things. if you have not, i'm really interested, can you start one?
