quote:Originally posted by naira: Now, talking about the current situation in Armenia. I don't see serious concerns about religious sects putting the integrity of Armenian society under the questioning? Naira some of these sects already have so much power that the political leaders (so far the local ones) do contact them and use their members' vote in elections. And this is not a free favour.

Let's put here just links with some brief description! Smth like... Armenian Terror -------------------------- Lang: English < http://www.armenianterror.com > Defamatory information on so-called genocide of turks organised by armenians during 1915. These posts were a part of another thread. Let's continue tis topic here. ========================== Kazza posted June 04, 2001 10:20 AM -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- what about rap, reggae, hip hop, soul and Jazz and soul? what about those inventions? And as for the swearing, that, I'm afraid, I think it's great that you express yourself. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Yeah, I feel a good fan of some alternative music! What is your prefered black male singer, writer, philosopher, scientist or DJ, Kazza? My prefered black male is Martin Luther King. I think he was a great man who resisted the "evil" by non-violence. It's a great example of revolutionary good will. His thoughts are still fascinating men and women arround the world, who love and stand for the diversity and equal rights. Here is one line, which I'd choose to address to those who still differ black, white, red, yellow and blue colors: "..it does not require a majority to prevail, but rather an irate, tireless minority keen to set brush fires in people's minds.." -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Kazza posted June 04, 2001 10:49 AM -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hold on, I'd like to give this post a bit of greater attention tommorrow. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Kazza posted June 04, 2001 10:51 AM -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- But among them I'd like to say were some of the black candidates running for (some getting into) parliament in the US while slavery was still active. And the fact that most poular music in western society has at least SOME black influences? . -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Great points Kazza. Most people seem to think that they are the center of the universe and others are just hangers on. Black culture has and does exert tremendous influence on popular culture in the US (and thus the world). Music is, of course, a prime example. White America would rather not acknowledge such - and in general is largely ignorant of the role of Black Americans in science and invention and in other areas (such as warfare) that make them just as much Americans and just as much valuable contributors as any other group of people over here. BTW - I am partial to Ornette Colemen, Miles Davis, Taj Mahal, Muddy Waters, Etta James, Johnny "Guitar" Watson, Charles Mingus, Bob Marley, George Duke....and I could go on and on (not that I don't like my occasional Ice-T/body count, Public Enemy, Salt-n-Peppa (really), Run DMC, Grandmaster Flash, Parliment Funkadelic, Jimmy Hendrix, Sly Stone, (old) Ike & Tina T....likewise)...look at that...a lot of fantastic black men and women...and never once the need to refer to the size of the pistons in the "engine" etc - but heh you "hot rod" gals know the importance of Torque, RPM, free flow exhaust etc etc & such...its not all just pure displacement you know....LOL -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- MosJan posted June 04, 2001 02:36 PM -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- i think Kazajan has a good ideya for a new topic , KAza jan you have a good points, lets open a new topic in the music forum ... If you find a missing event send an email to garik@armenians.com or post here a brief info about that and I'll add it to our database. [ June 01, 2001: Message edited by: Garo ]

I deleted some posts here. Art you got a warning. I agree with you that this thread is not for kids. This thread always brings trouble as soon as one of the new members discover it.

Taguhi we've discussed about Guderian before. Try to search by is name. If I'm not mistaken he was a son of austrian general.

Ara could you please use more meaningful titles for your threads? It'll help the users to decide open it or not.

quote:Originally posted by bellthecat: Thanks Garo. When did it happen? If he was, say, a Jew trying to reclain property in Poland, and was killed as a result of it, you can be sure the whole world would have known of it. This would be partly because people know about the history behind such an incident, but partly also because you can be certain detailed and accurate facts about the incident would be available to everyone. Steve Steve I'm not sure about the exact date (I'll post it later when I have a chance to talk with someone who personally knew him) but it was around the early 60s.

quote:Originally posted by edwardk: Garo,it is true Kurds killed multitudes of Armenian refugees. Yes, we had problems with these people at times. But remember this: an Armenian man was kept alive by Kurds. A hero. He executed Talaat ***** in Germany. The Turks themselves sentenced Talaat to death for his crimes. Our hero carried out the execution. Now what you described about a man reclaiming his parental rights. Why did the Turkish government lead him into this situation in the first place may I ask?? Sure they knew the local villagers would kill him. Did you really believe a Turk will ever pay compensation to any of his victims?/ Are you that stupid?? Wake up man! First of all let me suggest you to watch your langague. I give you a warning. My post was a note that just buying village and having all rights on it by law may not be enough. It was not about the thing that kurds are killers. It seems for you it was not clear. And I don't need your example of kurds saving future armenian heros. I personally know a lot of people who has saved their lives thanks to kurds and turks. My grandparents were among them. Steve I don't remember the exact names of the villages now. I'll just name 2 of them - Grecira and Jagarlu. I'm not sure about the spelling though. As far as I know Grecira is still a village and you can find it on the map but Jagarlu now is a part of Batman. The name of the person who got killed is Geurie Shmoni (not sure about the correct spelling). He was from Gamishli, Syria. [ May 27, 2001: Message edited by: Garo ]

Our family owns about 5-6 villages in Tigranakert with all oficial papers. A few years ago another Armenian with similar papers requested from Turkish government to get back his village. They agreed but when he went to his village and told the people that he owns the village he got killed by kurds living there.

I counted 6. Am I genius? Azat I guess we need to make some corrections in source code and add a condition [if you tried this first time and counted 6 Fs then you are Genius]. I wouldn't pass this condition.

Good news! S-300 is one of the best air defence complex in the world. Have you heard the story when CIA tried to get a copy of S-300? They spent 100s of millons dollars and a lot of efforts to buy a copy S-300 and got shocked finding out that this partucular model of S-300 is no longer in use by Russian army
