  1. Aaron Jan, I myself am a firm believer that Armenians can survive and previal in this world even though we live thousands of miles from our motherland. Let me give you the basis of my understanding. We the Armenians are the only people who can say that we have a diaspora besides the Greeks. From what i have been thaught the word diaspora means that a race have a deep connection with their motherland in three ways. Frist of all the race has to have strong ties with its motherland. Second of all they have to preserve and keep their culture alive. And third of all they must patronize the government and keep strong connections with them. That is who we are Aaron and since we have this diaspora we can survive. One of my friends tells me "if there is a will, then there is a way." Its all about unity, if we stick together and help one another we will prevail. That is all i have to say about that issue. Please do not misunderstand me. As for dating people from another race, its not that I am against it. I do believe in love and know that it is in human nature to pick nature over nurture. It is a human instict to follow their feelings and avoid the rational mind but that does not apply to all people. Many of my peers are dating odars and i DO condone that and wish them the best in the future. Many of them say that their is a point where nationality does not matter anymore and loves comes over all of that. Once again i wish them the best and respect them very much. True i would prefer that they date an Armenian but it is their life and I dont have the right to change that, because i would be taking over their rights and i wouldnt dare do so. The only problem for me is that i worry about our culture, where will the Armenian diaspora be in a hundred years, will it even exist? Will the generations after us even care who they are and where they come from? I want other Armenians, espesscially the yonger generation to feel a strong conection with their history and culture... i want them to feel it in their hearts and souls. I don't our people to just dissapear in the wind and just leave bits and pieces of things for museums. The future is what i am worried about, dating, which might lead to marraige is a small yet big factor in our future. Do you see what I am worried about Aaron? Let me know what you think .
  2. It is suprising to me as to how someone can even debate upon this topic. The word killing just makes things uncivilized. Since when is killing the right thing to do. We the Armenians are Christain, I'm sorry but in no where in the bible does it state that killing is right. I understand what the concern is, but killing someone does not solve the situation. Many Armenian girls nowadays are dating odars, I don't think there is much we can do about that, it comes from the person. To be honest I don't think it is the right thing to do, we are small in number already we do not need to diversify our culture any longer. Anyhow I think talking to a person and reasoning with them is more justified then killing them. Nothing can be solved by killing, it just opens more doors for more complex problems.

I would like to know what the general understanding is about an Armenian girl who moves away from home in order to go to school. Each individual precieves this issue in a different manner based on where they live and who they are raised by. I would like to know people's opinions on this matter if is it attainable... Thank You very much.
