  1. does it have to be in anyone's name? i'm not familiar with his contemporaries -- i can say i'd probably come up with a name if i did some research -- but why do you feel it's necessary to have someone's name? can't it just be "black day" or "black pride" or "black civil rights day" or whatever?
  2. well said, Anonymouse. That is what pisses me off about the whole equality thing.. first they ask for equality, then they demand special treatment. well, equality is not about being given privileges that others don't have (visible minorities checkboxes on job applications, anyone?)... it's about given an equal chance to APPLY for a job, and having to compete with the rest of them for that job, instead of yelling foul play and saying you didn't get the job because you're black...
  3. Sasun, lol.. jealous? of a fornicator? of course not. like I said, Sasun, he might've done a lot of good things, but that's not the point here -- the point is that he did something wrong. he used and abused women. and no matter how much good he did to black people, i still think he's not the best example of THE hero, which black people obviously think he is/was.. and if it's black people's day, i don't see why it's called in his name -- i think he's the least worthy of all blacks to have a day in his name.. i'm sure there were black people out there who contributed as much as he did, and didn't do all those bad things. they just didn't get mentioned because they were foreshadowed by luther king. and i think it's a shame.. and it's a shame that the only place you can read the truth about a black "hero" is on a website that is called "racist"... i'm all for racial equality, but i'm also for truth to be talked about without censorship and without any bias due to historical events (slavery, etc.)

hmmm, and that means what? Don't you think you're being too much into conspiracy theories? Hmmm... I mean, I'm all into conspiracy theories and all that, but I don't see this one. but then again, i'm not too knowledgeable about the history of U.S presidents. i apologise if i'm missing the point..
  5. Sasun, he was un-original in his writings and speeches. as for the unworthy part, I'd say he's unworthy of getting a day in his name. Abraham Lincoln doesn't get to have a day of his own... or George Washington for that matter... except for the very general "president's day" or something along those lines.. and those were good men. i'm sure people have tried to find some bad things about them, but I'm not sure if there is any.. my bad if there are any such aspects to their lives too..
  6. I agree with that part, but I don't quite understand what you mean by the following: maybe you could elaborate? Actually -- you're right about the originality part, as he was a plagiarist, and as for his humanity part -- well, he might've done good to the black people w.r.t the civil rights movement, but let's not forget that he was a hypocrite and the fact that he did some good to cover up his hypocrisy, or rather, to gain popularity ("rabble-rousing" heh..) doesn't make him (or shouldn't make him) a hero who gets a day in his name..

What are you talking about, A-H? I'm not sure I get what you're saying.. I was never good at cryptology..
  8. My credibility? For your information, I don't post because I want to prove my credibility or because I want to gain popularity. I post because I want to. And that's that. You claim to know a lot, but the way you argue makes me think (and convinced) that you don't know sh*t. Someone is innocent until proven guilty. So you can claim you're knowledgeable, but you're still an ignorant fool in my books until you prove that you do know something that's worth more than sh*t. And for the record, Saudi Arabia is still ruled by Saudi "families" (i.e. the rich ones).. ooops, there goes your knowledge.. and if Bin Laden (or you) thinks that Saudi Arabia is not taken over by the States, he's delusional. Have you ever wondered why the States hasn't bombed Saudi Arabia, where all the al-qaida money comes from? You (and Stormy too, for that matter) are the most negative people on this board (besides Anonymouse lol). Both of you HAVE to be disapproving of SOMEONE in EACH and EVERY single post... maybe you feel that it's your calling or something lol... I don't claim to know that feeling.. but I'm sure you do -- so do tell us about it..

lol... what is written on it? "In God we Trust", no? heh.. not sure, as I haven't seen an American dollar for the longest time.. we use Canadian dollars here lol.. Psshh, politics is not about qualifications. It's about money. If an inexperienced (but note how rich she is) Belinda Stronach can run for the leadership of the PC-Alliance party, I'm not surprised that dubya actually "won" (translation: bought) the presidency... I don't know, but Belinda Stronach looks like Martha Stewart to me... http://www.cbc.ca/stories/2004/01/20/stron...announces010420

    What Do You Read?

Steve, since you are critical of every single person out there, why don't you run? Or wait, you wouldn't want to lower yourself to their level, eh? I think I answered my own question, so never mind!!

    What Do You Read?

(no, not talking to myself lol) -- I just realised that I've already posted a list of e-book sites on here. So here it is: http://64.21.83.54/forum/index.php?showtopic=7715
  17. give me a f*ing break. I never claimed to know all of history. sheesh. not knowing is not something to be ashamed of. refusing to learn is something one should be ashamed of. selective memory? or hypocrite? mmhmm.. methinks it's both. what -- yet another BASE attack? heh.. how about proving your point instead of showing your skill in attacking the person at the other side of the argument?

    What Do You Read?

Acher...................... thanks for letting me know of the contents of 1984.. yeesh... talk about ruining a book.. heh
  19. mmmhmmm... you amaze me, Steve.. truly... I am talking about the current state of affairs.. I don't care what happened 2000 years ago in babylon.. sheesh. do i seem to be talking about ancient civilisations here?? yeah, let's all talk about Adam and Eve.. And for the record, Steve, I don't see Saudi Arabia occupied by anyone (except foreign businessmen, etc.).. yet there are people who carry out suicide attacks. Another example would be the bombing of the Jewish synagogue in Turkey. Enough said already. And here I was, thinking you were not part of that clan of hyeforumers who claimed to know-it-all. You are the male version of Stormig.

    What Do You Read?

Yeah, THOTH, I've read it. Haven't seen the movie though. It's good -- although I like Of Human Bondage better. I don't know, but when I don't have the money to go buy the book (as I like to keep all the books that I read -- not a big fan of library borrowing lol -- i'm a book nut!!), I just go online and get the book. I have like a huge folder of e-books, mostly in PDF (I convert .txt and .html e-books to PDF too).. so if you need any, just PM me lol.. Has anyone read The Great Gatsby or seen the movie? I haven't read the book, but I've seen the movie with Robert Redford in it, and it was GREAT!!! edit: allarmeniangirl, heh, I do sit in my bed and read e-books. If you don't have a laptop, it's hard, I know.. even with a laptop, it's more comfortable with a regular book, but if I'd have to choose between not reading a book at all (no money heh) or reading it on my computer, I'd choose the second one. Besides, you can download the book and disconnect the internet lol.. that way you wouldn't be able to get on the internet..

THOTH, are you saying that Jews aren't a race? I don't know if they are. Just asking.. http://www.marxists.org/archive/kautsky/1914/jewsrace/ THOTH, don't be an @$$. I was just asking a question out of curiosity. Sheesh. Anyhow -- Jewish Friend, do you have like a summary of his platform? I mean, I know he's a Democrat, etc., but what are the main highlights of his campaign?

    John Kerry

loool!!! i know he's straight!!! Actually, I haven't even seen pictures of him, so I wouldn't know hah... I've seen Howard Dean though, and he doesn't look Jewish. heh.. so my Jewdar is still functional!! and accurate!! unless you come up with an article that proves Dean is Jewish lol.

    What Do You Read?

I read an entire novel (actually more than one) on my computer. Of Human Bondage by Somerset Maugham. I am currently compiling a list of websites for e-books that pose no copyright violations, and will be posting that list here too.

I never said I liked him or supported him.. where did you get that from? I was just doing some readings on that topic and came up with an article that claimed that Kerry was Jewish, and I wanted to know if that was true. I, for one, think Howard Dean is the best candidate. And his wife is Jewish. So not at all. I don't care who's Jewish and who's not, as long as they're good candidates.
