  2. Muslim holy books were written some 150 years after the death of Muhammad, and when collected in book, many writings and verses were inserted that did not come from Muhammad while other verses that truly came from him were discarded, the name of the game was deception; it was Satan, the enemy of Jesus Christ and of God, who inserted those negative destructive verses against Christians in order there would be perpetual wars and slaughters between the followers of those two religions as proofed by history and by genocides, the Armenian one of 1915 being one of those, the currant holocaust in Syria being another. Who were the individuals that Satan used in order to insert those verses against Christians? They were the idol worshipers of Mecca whom Muhammad fought against and when they saw that they were being defeated they converted to Islam in a fake manner, they pretended to believe in Muhammad and after the death of the prophet (most-likely they poisoned him), they made a collection of writings, Qur'an and others, the purpose of which was mainly to serve their imperialist political ambitions for world conquest, and they did it by deception. So after all Muhammad did not win his battle against those idolatress or idol worshipers; it was them, specially their leaders, who won by deception, tricks and lies, and their reward was great: wealth from nations conquered, sex with women of all colors, slaves without numbers, a life in leisure and ease while those brainwashed by their own so-called holy books of Islam did all the fighting, martyrdom and conquests for them. This newly discovered document, as translated by John Morrow, sheds new light on Muhammad's real directive to Muslims in the way they should treat the Christians. The Covenant of the Prophet Muhammad with the Christians of the World (II) (Rediscovered by Dr. Morrow and first published in 2013 from a manuscript which dates to 1538 CE) [by the Prophet Muhammad] [Translated by John Andrew Morrow in 2013] http://covenantsoftheprophet.wordpress.com/2013/08/11/the-covenant-of-the-prophet-muhammad-with-the-christians-of-the-world-1538/ In the Name of Allah, the Creator [al-Khaliq], the Living [al-Hayy], the Speaking [al-Natiq], the One who Remains after the Annihilation of Creation [al-Baqi ba‘d fana’ al-khaliq]. This is a copy [nushah] of the covenant [‘ahd] which was written by Muhammad ibn ‘Abd Allah ibn ‘Abd al-Muttalib for all the Christians [nasara]. Copy [nuskhah] of the Covenant [kitab al-‘ahd] This covenant of Allah [‘ahd Allah] was ordered to be written by Muhammad ibn ‘Abd Allah ibn ‘Abd al-Muttalib, the Messenger of Allah, may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him and his family [alihi], to all the Christians and all the monks, to guard and protect them, because they are Allah’s trust among His Creations [wadi‘at Allah fi khalqihi] in order for the covenant to be a proof [hujjah] against them and there would be no claim against Allah after the Messenger. He made this a protection [dhimmah] from him and a protection for them by the authority of Allah, for Allah is All-Mighty [‘Aziz] and All-Wise [Hakim]. It was written by the Lion [asad] and the People of His Vocation [ahl al-millati] to all those who profess the Christian religion [da‘wat al-nasraniyyah] in the Eastern lands and its West, near and far, be they Arabs or non-Arabs [‘ajami], known or unknown, as a covenant [‘ahd] from him, a justice and tradition to be preserved. He who observes it holds to his Islam and is worthy of his religion [din]. He who breaks it [nakatha] and jeopardizes the covenant [‘ahd] which was ordered by the Messenger of Allah, and changes it, and transgresses what has been commanded, has rejected the Covenant of Allah [‘ahd Allah], denies the Oath of Allah [mithaq Allah], disdains his religion, and merits His Maledictions, whether he is a Sultan or anyone else among the believers [mu’minin] and the Muslims. I started by committing myself to the covenant, granted alliances [uhud] and pledges [mawathiq] to those who requested them from me and from all of my Muslim Community [millati min al-muslimin]. I gave them the Covenant of Allah [ahd Allah] and His Pledge [mithaq] and I placed them under the safeguard of His Prophets, His Chosen Ones [asfiya], His Friends [awliyyah] from among all the Believers [mu’minin] and the Muslims over time. My protection [dhimmati] and my security [mithaqi] represent the most solid covenant that Allah, the Most Exalted, has given a prophet sent in truth to demand obedience, to give obligations [farida], and to respect the covenant [‘ahd]. The covenant of Allah [‘ahd Allah] is that I should protect their land [‘ard], their monasteries [al-diyar], with my power [qudrah], my horses, my men, my weapons [silahi], my strength [quwwati], and my Muslim followers [atba] in any region, far away or close by, and that I should protect their businesses. I grant security to them, their churches, their businesses, their houses of worship [buyut salawatihim], the places of their monks, the places of their pilgrims, wherever they may be found, be they in the mountains or the valleys, caves or inhabited regions, the plains or the desert and that I should protect their dhimmah, their faith [millah], and their religion [din], wherever they may be found in the East or West, in the sea or on land, the same way that I protect myself, my entourage [khasati], and the People of my Community [ahl al-millati] among the Muslims. I place them under my protection [dhimmah], my security [mithaq], and my trust [aman] at every moment. I defend them from any damage, harm [makruh] or retribution [tabi‘a]. I am behind them, protecting them from every enemy or anyone who wishes them harm [muhdi]. I sacrifice myself for them by means of my helpers [a‘wani], my followers [atbai], and the People of my Community [ahl al-millah] because they are my flock [ra‘iyyah] and the people under my protection [ahl al-dhimmati], I extend [amudu] my authority [sulta], my care [ri‘ayyah], and my protection over them from every harm [makruh] so that it does not reach them. No harm will reach them unless it reaches my Companions [ashab] who [are there to] protect them and assist Islam [nusrat]. I remove from them the harm from taxes and loan in the supplies borne to the People of the Pact [ahl al-ahd] except what they themselves consent to give. They should not be compelled or unfairly treated in this matter. It is not permitted to remove a bishop from his bishopric, a monk from his monastic life, a Christian from his Christianity, an ascetic [zahid] from his tower, or a pilgrim from his pilgrimage. Nor is it permitted to destroy any part of their churches or their businesses or to take parts of their buildings to construct mosques or the homes of believing Muslims [mu’minin al-muslimin]. Whoever does such a thing will have violated the covenant of Allah [‘ahd Allah], disobeyed [khalafa] his Messenger, and deviated [hadha] from His Divine Alliance. It is not permitted to impose a capitation [jizyah] or any kind of land tribute [kharaj] on monks, bishops or those who are worshippers among them, who, by devotion, wear woolen clothing [al-suf] or live alone in the mountains or in other regions secluded from human presence. The capitation [jizyah] will be applied to those Christians who are not clerics [man la yattabad] with the exception of the monk and the pilgrim in the amount of four dirhams per year or an inexpensive cloak [tawb]. He who does not have the money or the food with which to feed himself, the Muslims will help him by means of the savings stored in the Treasury [bayt al-mal]. If they find difficulties in securing food, the Muslims will also help them, provided they willingly accept. May the land tribute [jizyah al-kharaj] on big business by land or sea, pearl-diving, mining for precious stones, gold and silver, or those who are wealthy among those who profess the Christian faith, not exceed twelve dirhams [fiddah] per year, so long as they are inhabitants and residents in these countries. May nothing similar be demanded of travelers, who are not residents of the country or wayfarers whose country of residence is unknown. There shall be no land tax with capitation for others than those who own land as will the other occupants of lands over which the ruler has a right. They will pay taxes as others pay them without, however, the charges unjustly exceeding the measure of their means. As for the labor force which the owners spend upon to cultivate these lands, to render them fertile, and to harvest them, they are not to be taxed excessively. Let them pay in the same fashion and justly that which was imposed on other similar tributaries. The people under our protection [ahl al-dhimmah] will not be obliged to go to war with the Muslims in order to combat their enemies and to attack them. Indeed, the people under our protection [ahl al-dhimmah] are not to engage in war. It is precisely to discharge them of this obligation that this pact has been granted to them as well as to assure them the help and protection of the Muslims. They will not be constrained to provide equipment to any of the Muslims, in arms or horses, in the event of a war in which the Muslims attack their enemies, unless they contribute to the cause freely. And what the Muslims have borrowed will be guaranteed by the [state] Treasury [bayt al-mal] until it is returned to them. If they die or are damaged, the [state] Treasury [bayt al-mal] will provide monetary compensation. No one who practices the Christian religion will be forced to enter into Islam. And dispute ye not with the People of the Book, except with means better [29:46]. They must be covered by the wing of mercy and all harm that could reach them, wherever they may find themselves and wherever they may be, must be repelled. If a Christian were to commit a crime or an offense, Muslims must provide him with help, defense, and protection, as well as pay his penalty for him. They should encourage reconciliation between him and the victim, to help or save him. The Muslims must not abandon him or leave him without help and assistance because I have given them a covenant of Allah which is binding upon the Muslims. In virtue of this pact, they have obtained inviolable rights to enjoy our protection, to be protected from any infringement of their rights, and they are not to be disputed, rejected, or ignored so that they will be bound to the Muslims both in good and bad fortune. The girls of the Christians must not be subject to suffer, by abuse, on the subject of marriages which they do not desire. Muslims should not take Christian girls in marriage against the will of their parents nor should they oppress their families in the event that they refused their offers of engagement and marriage. Such marriages should not take place without their desire and agreement and without their approval and consent. If a Muslim takes a Christian woman as a wife, he must respect her Christian beliefs. He will give her freedom to listen to her [clerical] superiors as she desires and to follow the path of her own religion. Whoever, despite this order, forces his [Christian] wife to act contrary to her religion, he will have broken the alliance of Allah and broken the promise [mithaq] of His Messenger and he will be counted, by us, among the liars [kadhibin]. If the Christians approach you seeking the help and assistance of the Muslims in order to repair their churches and their convents, or to arrange matters pertaining to their affairs and religion, these [Muslims] must help and support them. However, they must not do so with the aim of receiving any reward or debt. On the contrary, they should do so to restore that religion, out of faithfulness to the pact of the Messenger of Allah, by pure donation, and as a meritorious act before Allah and His Messenger. In matters of war between them and their enemies, the Muslims will not employ any Christian as a messenger, scout, guide, to show power, or for any other duty of war. Whoever obliges one of them to do such a thing will be unjust [zaliman] towards Allah, disobedient [‘asiyan] to His Messenger, and will be cast out [mutakhaliyan] from his religion. Nothing is permitted to a Muslim [with regards to the Christians] outside of obeying these edicts which Muhammad ibn ‘Abd Allah, the Messenger of Allah, has passed in favor of the religion of the Christians. I am also placing conditions [upon the Christians] and I demand that they promise to fulfill and satisfy them as commands their religion. Among other things, none of them may act as a scout, spy, either overtly or covertly, on behalf of an enemy of war, against a Muslim. None of them will shelter the enemies of the Muslims in their homes from which they could await the moment to launch an attack. May these enemies [of the Muslims] never be allowed to halt in their regions, be it in their villages, their oratories, or in any other place belonging to their co-religionists. They must not provide any support to the war enemies of the Muslims by furnishing them with weapons, horses, men or call for unnecessary things. They must not annoy them and they should be honored as long as they persist in their religion and their care for their pact. They must grant Muslims three days and three nights when they halt among them. They must offer them, wherever they are found, and wherever they are going, the same food with which they live themselves, without, however, being obliged to endure other annoying or onerous burdens. If a Muslim needs to hide in one of their homes or oratories, they must grant him hospitality, give him help, and provide him with their food during the entire time he will be among them, making every effort to keep him concealed and to prevent the enemy from finding him, while providing to all of his needs. Whoever contravenes or alters the ordinances of this edict will be cast out of the alliance between Allah and His Messenger. May everyone abide by the treaties and alliances which have been contracted with the monks, and which I have contracted myself, wherever they may be. The Messenger of Allah, may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, must respect what he has granted, on his authority and all the Muslims, to guard them and have mercy on them until the end, until the Hour of [Resurrection] arrives, and the world comes to an end. Whoever is unjust after this towards a [Christian] subject [dhimmi], breaks the covenant and rejects it, I will be his enemy on the Day of Judgment among all the Muslims. As witness to this covenant [kitab]–which was written by Muhammad ibn ‘Abd Allah, the Messenger of Allah, may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, to all the Christians [jami‘] to whom he put conditions in it, and for whom he wrote the following covenant [‘ahd]–there are thirty witnesses: Abu Bakr al-Siddiq ‘Umar ibn al-Khattab ‘Uthman ibn ‘Affan ‘Ali ibn Abi Talib Abu Dharr Abu al-Darda Abu Hurayrah ‘Abd Allah ibn Mas‘ud al-‘Abbas ibn ‘Abd al-Malik Fadl ibn al-‘Abbas al-Zahri Talhah ibn ‘Abd Allah Sa‘id ibn Mu‘azz Sa‘id ibn Ubadah Thabit ibn Qays Yazid ibn Talit ‘Abd Allah ibn Yazid Farsus ibn Qasim ibn Badr ibn Ibrahim Amir ibn Yazid [imam ibn Yazid?] Sahl ibn Tamim ‘Abd al-‘Azim ibn al-Najashi ———————- [different handwriting] ‘Abd al-‘Azim ibn Husayn ‘Abd Allah ibn ‘Amr ibn al-‘As ‘Amr ibn Yasir Mu‘azim ibn Musa Hassan ibn Thabit Abu Hanifah ‘Ubayd ibn Mansur Hashim ibn ‘Abd Allah Abu al-‘Azar Hisham ibn ‘Abd al-Muttalib ‘Ali ibn Abi Talib, may Allah be pleased with him, wrote this covenant, and the manuscript [sijl] was written on a piece of leather [jild] that was not small. It remained at the Sultan’s authority and was sealed by the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him. All praise be to Allah. This blessed book [kitab al-mubarak] was completed on the holy day of Monday, in the last month of Ba‘una, the blessed, in the year of our Masters the Martyrs, the Pure Ones, the Felicitous, the Satisfied [abrar], may Allah grant us their intercession and may their intercession be with us. Amen! This corresponds to the 27th of the sacred [haram] month of Muharram of the year 945 of the Arabic hijrah. May Allah make its end good! Amen! This blessed book [kitab al-mubarak] belongs to the great soul [al-mubajjal], the master [al-mawla], the leader [al-ra’is], the elder [al-shaykh], the scholar [al-‘alim], Sum‘an, the son of [najl], the source of greatness [al-mu‘azzam] Fadl Allah, may Allah rest his soul in peace [nayaha allah nafsahu], known as [al-ma‘ruf] al-Barallusi. The writer of these words is the humble [miskin], full of faults and sins [khataya wa al-dunub], asking the brothers who read these words [lit. letters] to mention them in their prayers [salawat] and the Messiah [masih] will reward them one hundred and sixty three times.
  3. Showing love toward the Turks does not mean that we should love the darkness, on the contrary we should hate the darkness; but we should not hate those souls who are ensnared by the darkness, our love toward those souls will help them to be set free from darkness. Jesus wants those souls to come to Him, the Light of this World, and be liberated from the darkness whom they serve. From the human prospective, Turks coming in mass to Christ would seem impossible, but from the viewpoint and perspective of God nothing is impossibly and anything is possible. And God is right and perfect.
  4. Having the attitude of Christ in us is what is required. Pray, pray for them before God as they are in bondage to darkness spiritually and are the servants of darkness. God "who is Light, and in Him there is no darkness at all (1 John 1:5), can take them out from darkness into light, but they have to decide and God cannot act against their free will, there are many Turks who have found salvation by Jesus Christ, which means more souls from them can be saved. And as a general rule Armenians are not making easy for the Turks to come into the light of Christ, the Savior, by not showing love to the Turks. By their negative attitudes most Armenians are hindering and putting obstacles before the Turks to come into the salvation. Godly love has power; so love your enemies and pray for them before God despite what they have done to you --this is a commandment from Christ; keep His word and do His commandment and leave the rest to God if you call yourself a Christian. The key to peace is to pray to Father God: "Forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive them that trespass against us". Our Father, which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy Name. Thy Kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, As it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, As we forgive them that trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, But deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, The power, and the glory, For ever and ever. Amen. When someone gives HONOR to God the Father his prayers will be answered; without giving honor to God and submit to Him, He may not honor your requests or prayers.
  5. Matt 15:19 "For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander." Have faith! There is no impossible with God who said in Ezekiel 36:26 "I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh." There is no partiality with God, He can do it for Turks and Tartars if they turn to Him --Jesus Christ the true God.
  6. A book has been published, Nov. 2013, that "documents what is possibly the third foundational source of Islam: the Prophet's treaties and covenants among people of the Abrahamic faiths. Dr. Morrow, the author, brings forth exceptionally important findings that dictate peaceful coexistence among Jews, Christians, and Muslims, and includes multiple translations for comparison of how the Prophet and his followers treated Christians and Jews with respect and care, far beyond a mere tolerance." writes Bridget Blomfield of University of Nebraska. ====================== The Covenant of the Prophet Muhammad with the Christians of the World (II) http://covenantsoftheprophet.wordpress.com/2013/08/11/the-covenant-of-the-prophet-muhammad-with-the-christians-of-the-world-1538/ (Rediscovered by Dr. Morrow and first published in 2013 from a manuscript which dates to 1538 CE) [by the Prophet Muhammad] [Translated by John Andrew Morrow in 2013] In the Name of Allah, the Creator [al-Khaliq], the Living [al-Hayy], the Speaking [al-Natiq], the One who Remains after the Annihilation of Creation [al-Baqi ba‘d fana’ al-khaliq]. ===================== Then what about negative verses that the Muslims believe in (and which were given as justification for the Armenian Genocide by Muslim Turks) about fighting and killing none-Muslims including the Christians & Jews. Apparently such negative verses were later added on to the holy scripts of Islam for political imperialist reasons and ambitions and were never pronounced by their prophet Muhammad. Hence the deception and rivers of blood. Samples of such verses that were later inserts into Muslim books when the Koran was put into written form and all the rest of the holy writs were discarded, this happened after some 150 years of the death of Muhammad: "the Messenger of Allah . . . would say: 'Fight in the name of Allah and in the way of Allah. Fight against those who disbelieve in Allah. Make a holy war. . . . When you meet your enemies who are polytheists, invite them to three courses of action. . . . Invite them to (accept) Islam; if they respond to you, accept it from them and desist from fighting against them. . . . If they refuse to accept Islam, demand from them the Jizya. If they agree to pay, accept it from them and hold off your hands. If they refuse to pay the tax, seek Allah's help and fight them . . .'" (Muslim Book 19, Number 4294). "fight and slay the Pagans wherever ye find them, and seize them, beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem (of war) . . . " (Qur’an 9:5). "Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued" (Qur'an 9:29). "The punishment of those who wage war against Allah and His Messenger, and strive with might and main for mischief through the land is: execution, or crucifixion, or the cutting off of hands and feet from opposite sides, or exile from the land: that is their disgrace in this world, and a heavy punishment is theirs in the Hereafter . . . " (Qur'an 5:33). [ibn Kathir says of this verse: "'Wage war' mentioned here means, oppose and contradict, and it includes disbelief, blocking roads and spreading fear in the fairways. Mischief in the land refers to various types of evil." So, Muhammad requires execution, crucifixion, or cutting off hands and feet from opposite sides for "disbelief."] "Allah's Apostle said: 'I have been ordered (by Allah) to fight against the people until they testify that none has the right to be worshiped but Allah and that Muhammad is Allah's Apostle . . . '" (Bukhari Volume 1, Book 2, Number 24). "It is not for any prophet to have captives until he hath made slaughter in the land. Ye desire the lure of this world and Allah desireth (for you) the Hereafter, and Allah is Mighty, Wise" (Qur'an 8:67). "Allah’s Apostle said, 'I have been made victorious with terror'" (Bukhari Volume 4, Book 52, Number 220). ========== As part of the remembrance 100th anniversary of our genocide, the financing of the translation of this book of John Morrow (more info about the book coming below) into Turkish and Azeri languages and their distribution widely in Turkey and Azerbaijan. Also the promotion of this book by media means into to the people of those countries should be undertaken by the Armenians. Hopefully then Turks and Tartars (Tartars are now in power in Azerbaijan) will rise above their animal-savagery by harboring good will toward Armenians and someday bless us in place of more killings. About this single discovered document, Muqtedar Khan the Director of Islamic Studies at the University of Delaware, writes: "The first and the final sentence of the charter are critical. They make the promise eternal and universal. Muhammed asserts that Muslims are with Christians near and far, straight away rejecting any future attempts to limit the promise to St. Catherine alone. By ordering Muslims to obey it until the Day of Judgment the charter again undermines any future attempts to revoke the privileges. These rights are inalienable. Muhammed declared Christians, all of them, as his allies and he equated ill treatment of Christians with violating God's covenant. "A remarkable aspect of the charter is that it imposes no conditions on Christians for enjoying its privileges. It is enough that they are Christians. They are not required to alter their beliefs, they do not have to make any payments and they do not have any obligations. This is a charter of rights without any duties! "The document is not a modern human rights treaty, but even though it was penned in 628 A.D. it clearly protects the right to property, freedom of religion, freedom of work, and security of the [Christian] person." http://newsweek.washingtonpost.com/onfaith/guestvoices/2009/12/prophet_muhammads_promise_to_christians.html Now about the book (you can look free inside of some 25 pages of the book with many illustrations at the post in Amazon) The Covenants of the Prophet Muhammad with the Christians of the World by John Andrew Morrow http://www.amazon.com/Covenants-Prophet-Muhammad-Christians-World/dp/159731465X The Prophet Muhammad's treaties with the Christians of his time, which John Andrew Morrow has rediscovered in obscure collections and often newly translated, uniformly state that Muslims are not to attack peaceful Christian communities, but defend them "until the End of the World." Authored by the Prophet himself, they represent a third foundational pillar for Islam outside of Qur'an and hadith. The "Covenants Initiative" within the book represents a movement by Muslims, both prominent and unknown, in support of Christians under attack. These treaties desperately need to be better known among Christians, Muslims, and the general public. For scholars, this book provides much difficult-to-obtain material: facsimiles of primary sources in Arabic and Persian; corrected versions in modern Arabic typescript; and alternate translations. They now have all they need to study the covenants in depth. Paperback: 466 pages Publisher: Sophia Perennis (November 2, 2013) Language: English ISBN-10: 159731465X ISBN-13: 978-1597314657

    As Gyumri has shrunk

Gyumri 1988-2013: 4,000 residents still in “temporary” shelter as city has shrunk By Gayane Mkrtchyan ArmeniaNow reporter http://armenianow.com/society/the_spitak_quake/49320/spitak_earthquake_domiks_gyumri http://rt.com/files/news/20/fd/c0/00/sara3.s.jpg Twenty five years after the devastating earthquake of 1988 the 95 small and big ‘domik’ districts continue to exist in various parts of the city. The ‘domiks’ – wagon-like temporary tin houses placed for two-three years – have been there for two and a half decades giving shelter to 4,000 Gyumri residents left homeless after the greater part of the city was turned to dust. In this urban settlement with once unique cultural, architectural profile and active political life these districts are like open wounds, still bleeding, still hurting, reminding Gyumri and its people of their tragedy. Haykush Zakaryan, 70, has purchased her new domik in Gyumri’s Barracks district. For forty years she has worked at Gyumri’s maternity hospital as chief nurse. The one bedroom domik cost her $2,000. “Well, what can I do? I’d rather borrow money and buy this than keep paying a rent. How do I know if I’ll ever be given housing or not?” says Zakaryan, who lost her apartment, when the building collapsed. The Manukyan family lives in Haykush’s neighborhood -- sons, daughters-in-law, grandchildren – all in a tiny shelter. “I have built this domik myself, but this is not a way to live. We have spent 25 years living in a tin-house, when you know how severe winters are in Gyumri,” says head of the family Sokhak Manukyan. Albert Margaryan, head of urban development departments at Shirak region’s local government, says 20,600 apartments were built in Guimri in 22 years. A year later 400 more families will be provided with housing. “There are 433 homeless families in Gyumri, and more than a thousand of those who, for some reason, did not get listed,” says Margaryan. Meanwhile, Asparez Journalism Club board chairman Levon Barseghyan claims there are, actually, 4,000 homeless families in Gyumri. “As part of his election campaign in 1998 Armenia’s second president Robert Kocharyan promised to have the disaster zone fully recovered by 2001. In 2001 he made a similar promise for 2003. Due to Kirk Kerkorian’s Lincy Foundation some 2,400 apartments were built in 2003 and 2004 in Gyumri, as well as the other places. It was declared then that the disaster zone was recovered and this is now a development zone and we have no homeless,” says Barseghyan. However, the development zone should have ruled out homelessness, tin-house districts, and high poverty and migration indexes. Gyumri’s population after the earthquake was 221,000 -234,000, while the October 2011 census showed 121,500 people residing in Gyumri. The actual number is even smaller. Gyumri’s schools had 52,000-56,000 students before the earthquake, now there are only 14,500. “These two comparisons demonstrate immediately where and what Gyumri is,” says Barseghyan. The average poverty index in Shirak in 2012 was the highest in the country (47.7 percent), meaning that by official data every other person in Gyumri is poor. The majority of socially vulnerable people here are the residents of domik districts with countless social-economic issues. For a year now no new apartments have been built for the homeless in Gyumri. According to Shirak Center NGO leader Vahan Tumasyan’s preliminary data, the housing project for those left without a shelter as a result of the natural calamity in Shirak province should have started in April this year and ended in September producing 420 apartments in Gyumri, 140 in Akhuryan and 50 more houses in rural communities. He has addressed many letters to the ministry of urban development, from where they were redirected to Glendale Hills in charge of the construction project. Tumasyan says Glendale Hills have put into operation 2,812 apartments with numerous defects and shortcomings. He says the government should have deprived the company from the opportunity to further implement construction projects in the disaster zone. “The government should have held a new tender, chosen a local construction company, hired local workforce, used our Artik tufa stone, while they have used construction material unfit for the Gyumri cold,” he says. After the criticism voiced related to the slowing down of the construction tempo there, Glendale Hills company leader Eduard Melikyan explained that the delay was conditioned by re-planning to add more apartments. Later urban development minister Samvel Tadevosyan visiting Gyumri’s construction sites with President Serzh Sargsyan stated that the housing program for the disaster zone resumed in September 2013 and 1,315 more apartments were planned to be built in 2013-2014. The application deadline was extended from November 2011 to December 2012. Because of the increase of applications re-planning is required, that is why the construction of new apartments is being delayed, he said. The total volume of state-funded construction in the disaster zone (including Gyumri and a number of settlements of Shirak and Lori provinces) will make 85 billion drams (about $210 million). As part of the project launched in 2008, 3,760 apartments have been built. By the end of this year and first quarter of 2014 another 1,315 are planned to be built. The project has been implemented since 1988 in the areas affected by the Spitak earthquake. The current project contractor Glendale Hills is building 430 apartments in Gyumri, and 32 more in Akhuryan. Tumasyan believes one thing can be assumed from state officials’ visits to the construction sites: “It is more of an imitation of ongoing construction in Gyumri, than actual: one bulldozer works, one vehicle, they have just started digging the ground and laying the foundations of those buildings. In Akhuryan construction seems to be proceeding better, brigades seem to be working.” He blames all of the presidents of independent Armenia with their respective administrations for the fact that there still are homeless people in Gyumri. “The housing issue could have been solved quite efficiently and a long time ago, the rest – blockade, war – is pure demagogy. What about everything they stole that was meant for the recovery of the disaster zone? Look at how many millions are allotted to asphalting the streets in Yerevan. Have you ever seen them do it for Gyumri? This means that Gyumri is foreign to them, they do not see anything beyond Yerevan . . . “ Editor’s Note:/ In this series ArmeniaNow visits Armenia’s “second city”, Gyumri, where on December 7, 1988 earthquake destroyed the city while taking the lives of 25,000 and left thousands homeless from the epicenter in Spitak, to Gyumri, Stepanavan and Vanadzor. The fallout from the quake revealed the crumbling condition of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics and signaled the beginning of new relations between Armenia and its broad Diaspora. In the immediate years to come, the earthquake would be seen as the starting point of struggle as Armenia dealt with recovery, while also engaging in war with Azerbaijan, a blockade by Turkey, and energy crisis. Orphaned from the USSR, and left to the mercies of foreigners – mostly Westerners who had for nearly seven decades been shut out of contact – Armenia was shaken on every front as it dealt with destruction, displacement and war during historically cold winters and as the country was in recovery while also facing the challenge to reshape itself into a democracy. No crisis had been as severe since the Armenian Genocide some 70 years earlier. The Shirak province of Armenia is no longer a “disaster zone”, but life there is surely still in recovery. Approaching the 25th anniversary of that seminal day, residents relive their stories and reflect on the years since . . .
  9. Armenia ranked 4th in Global Militarization Index 2013 08.Nov.2013In order to get to GMI you have to add the three following indexes:A-Military Expenditure Index B-Military Personal Index C-Heavy Weapons Index Israel 1, Singapore 2, Russia 3, Armenia 4, Syria 5, Jordan 6, Republic of Korea 7, Azerbaijan 8, Cyprus 9, (Turkey 23), Kuwait 10. Whereas Azerbaijan has already ranked high in previous years, Armenia is a new entrant this year. (Since 2013, the data for Armenia also includes reservists, which is why the country now ranks considerably higher than in previous years.) The Global Militarization Index (GMI) depicts the relative weight and importance of the military apparatus of one state in relation to its society as a whole. For this, the GMI records a number of indicators to represent the degree of militarization of a country: • the comparison of military expenditures with its gross domestic product (GDP) and its health expenditure (as share of its GDP); • the contrast between the total number of (para)military forces and the number of physicians and the overall population; • the ratio of the number of heavy weapons available and the number of the overall population. The GMI is based on data from the Stockholm Peace Research Institute (SIPRI), the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the World Health Organization (WHO), the International Institute for Strategic studies (IISS) and BICC. It shows the degrees of militarization of 153 state since 1990. The Global Militarization Index (GMI) 2013 shows that the Middle East continues to be the most highly militarized region in the world. Experts of BICC (Bonn International Center for Conversion) point out that Asia, too, is demonstrating a particularly strong trend towards regional rearmament. With Israel, Syria, Jordan and Kuwait, four countries in the Middle East are in the Top 10 of the GMI. This reflects the high level of militarization in this region, which is so rich in conflicts. The rapid build-up of military capacities in the Caucasus is accompanied by heated diplomatic rhetoric and the risk of rekindling the long-term military conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh.
  10. Only, I Jesus Christ, can bring you true peace, love and salvation I have to warn you. I do this, not to bring you fear, but to prepare you for the Truth When the "great event" is mentioned it means the "warning" and then the "tribulation". Jesus will shorten the period of tribulation and then appear in His second Coming; as said in 1 Timothy 6:14, 15 "that you keep the commandment [of Jesus] without stain or reproach until the appearing of our LordJesusChrist which He will bring about at the proper time --He who is the blessed and only sovereign, the King of Kings and Lord of Lords". Very few people in the world today have any faith or belief in GodFriday, October 25th, 2013 @ 23:55 My dearly beloved daughter, when people accuse you of spreading fear, through these Messages, then they must understand My true intention. Fear comes from the wickedness of those who are infused with darkness of the soul, who walk amongst you. Your enemies are My enemies. They will create such false spirituality in every nation and it will not come from Me. So charming will they be, they will be infiltrated amongst those with high profiles in order to spread the false doctrine of new age, satanic origins. Many will consider these terrible actions to be harmless fun, but behind the seemingly innocent façade lies a cunning plan to rid the world of its belief in the Holy Trinity. Very few people in the world today have any faith or belief in God and so when the servants of Satan present them with false values, false spirituality and paganism, many will be seduced. They will be attracted to the false, charitable appeals for the rights of those who seek acceptance for their own lives, which defy the Laws laid down by My Father. Because their faith in God is weak, they will be open to lies. They will adore a false god, the antichrist, instead. I tell you these things, for they are the Truth. Why would I not warn you of these things? I Am your Saviour and I Am preparing to salvage you all, finally, after this prolonged and painful time. Man has suffered untold hardship because of Satan. So many people do not understand how much he destroys lives. He wrecks your relationships with other people, attracts you to vices, which destroy you, changes you and entraps you. No matter what he gives you, you will always feel empty. You will keep falling and falling until you become involved with depraved and unnatural acts and you will find no satisfaction. Only, I Jesus Christ, can bring you true peace, love and salvation. As your life on Earth will be changed beyond your comprehension, by the antichrist, I have to warn you. I do this, not to bring you fear, but to prepare you for the Truth. Only the Truth will free you from the wickedness of those who live, breathe and who will die because of their allegiance to Satan and his demons. Only I, Jesus, Am your way to seek relief from the persecution, which these wicked, cunning and deceitful people will bring to bear on the world. Your Jesus
  11. ARMENIA CAN BRIDGE IRAQ WITH CUSTOMS UNION: PREMIER Arka.am YEREVAN, November 7, 2013. /ARKA/. Armenia can bridge Iraq with Customs Union member countries, Armenia's premier Tigran Sargsyan said at his meeting with Iraqi vice-premier Roz Nuri Shawees, the government press office reported. Armenia holds interest in development of its bilateral relations with Iraq, the premier said. According to Sargsyan, the considerable increase in turnover between the countries over the last year shows there is great potential for development. Vice-premier Shawees, in his turn, congratulated Armenia on accession to the CU and said Iraq is interested in expansion of ties with Armenia. Iraqi delegation, Shawees said, consists of businessmen who want to establish links with Armenian entrepreneurs. The sides stressed the importance of direct flights between the countries and a simplified visa regime. They said both countries are interested in construction sector. According to ArmStat, Armenian exports to Iraq amounted to 15.7 million dollars in 2012. According to Armenia's vice-premier and co-chair of Armenia-Iraq intergovernmental commission Armen Gevorgyan, Armenian exports to Iraq amounted to about 30 million dollars in nine months of this year.
  12. Putin to visit Armenia next month, says Russian-Armenian tycoon http://armenianow.com/news/49857/armenia_visit_president_putin_sargsyan_ara_abrahamyan 7 Nov. 2013 Russian President Vladimir Putin will pay a visit to Yerevan upon the invitation of his Armenian counterpart Serzh Sargsyan early next month, chairman of the Union of Armenians of Russia (UAR) Ara Abrahamyan told media. RFE/RL’s Armenian Service quoted Abrahamyan today as saying that the Russian leader will arrive in Armenia on a working visit on December 1 or 2. Abrahamyan also confirmed plans for an Armenian-Russian business forum to be held in Yerevan on December 1-4. The UAR president, who is also a leading businessman, himself will be among some 500 businessmen and local leaders expected to arrive in Armenia from Russia ahead of Putin’s visit. No official source either in Moscow or in Yerevan has reported about Putin’s plans to visit Armenia yet. Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan has several times invited his Russian counterpart to visit Yerevan since the latter returned to the Kremlin as president in 2012. Several times such visits were announced in the past, but eventually did not take place.
  13. Egyptian officials liked Putin‘s “positive stance” toward “the June 30 Revolution" when the Egyptian military took over the Administration of Egypt from president Morsi of the Muslim Brotherhood, and outlawed that organization. Russia has been for more than a decade in war with Islamists in southern Russia and has been subjected to terrorist attacks, even in Moscow. In the same way Egypt currently is facing a war with Islamist insurgents in the Sinai. Last Wednesday Egyptian military and police forces attacked outposts of 55 terrorist “Takfiri elements,” (Egypt’s term for Islamists which means blasphemers) in the Sinai region. Egyptian military has lost many soldiers due to terrorist attacks from Takfiri elements. In Syria, last month of late October, in the city of Sadad of Syria, 30 bodies of Christian civilians, including women and children, killed by Islamist militias, have been found in two separate mass graves. The number of Christian civilians confirmed dead in this small town halfway between Homs and Damascus has reached 45. Many are injured and several are missing. According to eyewitnesses, many of the civilians were killed by militia gangs of ‘Al- Nusra Front’ and ‘Daash’. The city has been completely destroyed and looted. Some of the militants who invaded the city were holed up in the Syriac Orthodox Church of St Theodore, which was profaned. Sadad is an ancient Syriac village which dates back to 2000 BC located in the region of Qalamoon, north of Damascus. It had 14 churches, a monastery, temples, historic landmarks and archaeological sites; and a population of 15,000. Syriac Archbishop Selwanos Boutros Alnemeh said: “What happened in Sadad is the most serious and biggest massacre of Christians in Syria in the past two and a half years… 45 innocent civilians were martyred for no reason, and among them several women and children, many thrown into mass graves. Other civilians were threatened and terrorized. 30 were wounded and 10 are still missing. The binding force between Russia, Syria and Egypt is of all three of them been under attack by....call them what you want: Islamists, terrorists, mercenaries, insurgents...it is natural for them to join their forces and energies in defending themselves. And since those insurgencies are being supported by the West (and by S Arabia, Katar, and Turkey) by arms, training and billions in funds, it's normal that the shift between Russia and the West to get bigger with each passing day. Likewise with S Arabia, Katar and Turkey. Here is an article with link by Michael T. Snyder a former Washington D.C. attorney and the author of the book “The Beginning Of The End”. Russia And China Prepare For The Day When They Will Nuke The United States http://thetruthwins.com/archives/russia-and-china-prepare-for-the-day-when-they-will-nuke-the-united-states By Michael Snyder, on November 6th, 2013 While Barack Obama is busy gutting the U.S. nuclear arsenal, Russia and China are rapidly preparing for the day when they will nuke the United States. To most Americans, it sounds very strange to hear that Russia and China are concerned about nuclear war. After all, isn’t the Cold War over? Isn’t that what politicians from both major political parties keep telling us? Unfortunately, the truth is that Russia and China both consider the United States to be their number one geopolitical threat, and both nations have been systematically strengthening and updating their strategic forces. At the end of last month, Russia held a large-scale military drill that involved the launch of four nuclear missiles, and the Chinese government released a major report for the public which included maps showing what would happen to major U.S. cities in the event of a nuclear attack by Chinese submarines. Obama may blindly believe that wishful thinking and unilateral disarmament will keep the United States safe, but Russia and China are taking a much different path. Both of them believe that a military conflict with the United States in the future is quite likely, and they are rapidly preparing for that eventuality. The major nuclear drill conducted by Russia at the end of last month made headlines all over the planet… "Russian strategic forces carried out a large-scale surprise military drill on Wednesday, launching four nuclear missiles that were closely monitored by U.S. intelligence agencies, U.S. officials said. "The drill began around 9:00 am ET and included the test launch of two land-based intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs) and two submarine-launched ballistic missiles (SLBMs)." But this was far from an isolated incident. In fact, it has been reported that Russian missile forces will hold more than 200 drills during the second half of 2013. Things have very much changed in Russia since the end of the Cold War era. Back then, Russia did not have a lot of money to put into the military. But now Russian President Vladimir Putin is working very hard to strengthen and modernize Russian nuclear forces… "Russia is developing several new missiles, including a weapon U.S. intelligence agencies have assessed as a covert intermediate-range nuclear missile called the RS-26 that is being developed and tested in apparent violation of the 1987 Intermediate-range Nuclear Forces Treaty. "The Russian government has denied the RS-26 violates the INF treaty and claims it is a new ICBM, which some arms compliance experts say is a violation of the 2010 New START treaty. Russia is also developing a new submarine-launched ballistic missile and a new class of missile submarines." The missile submarines are of particular concern. Russia has introduced a new “near silent” nuclear submarine which is far quieter than anything the U.S. currently has… "The Borey Class submarine, dubbed Vladimir Monomakh, has a next generation nuclear reactor, can dive deeper than 1,200 feet, and carries up to 20 nuclear intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBM). "Each of these “Bulava” ICBM’s can carry ten detachable MIRV warheads, what they call “re-entry vehicles,” capable of delivering 150 kiloton yields per warhead" These subs have the capability of approaching the coastline of the United States without us ever even knowing that they were there. Meanwhile, China is publicly bragging about what their nuclear submarines could do to us. Late last month, the Chinese government released a report which included maps which showed the projected results of a nuclear strike on major U.S. cities. This report was heavily covered by government-controlled media outlets in China such as China Central TV, the People’s Daily, the Global Times, the PLA Daily and China Youth Daily. The following are a couple of excerpts from that report… “If we launch our DF-31A ICBMs over the North Pole, we can easily destroy a whole list of metropolises on the East Coast and the New England region of the U.S., including Annapolis, Philadelphia, New York, Boston, Portland, Baltimore, and Norfolk, whose population account accounts for about one eighth of America’s total residents.” —– “Because the Midwest states of the U.S. are sparsely populated, in order to increase the lethality, [our] nuclear attacks should mainly target the key cities on the West Coast of the United States, such as Seattle, Los Angles, San Francisco, and San Diego.” In recent years, China has been working hard to develop a new generation of inter-continental and submarine-launched nuclear missiles. The following is from a recent article posted on the Washington Free Beacon… "China is rapidly expanding its nuclear forces with new missiles, submarines, and warheads. At least one of the warheads is based on warhead designs stolen from U.S. nuclear weapons laboratories in the 1990s, U.S. officials have said." The submarine-launched missiles that they have been developing are of particular concern. The following is from a recent article posted on Investors.com… "China’s sub fleet is reportedly the world’s second-largest, with about 70 vessels. About 10 are nuclear-powered, and four or more of those are nuclear ballistic submarines. "In 2010, the Type 094 Jin class entered the service. It is capable of launching 12 to 16 JL-2 missiles with a range of about 8,700 miles, covering much of the continental U.S. with single or multiple independently targetable re-entry vehicle warheads." The Chinese reports included maps showing nuclear strikes on Los Angeles and the Pacific Northwest, along with the resulting radiation plumes stretching thousands of miles across the western United States." (From here and below the article is condensed for lack of space) Most Americans just continue to believe that we still have a very robust strategic nuclear deterrent. Unfortunately, that is no longer the case. Back in 1967, the U.S. military had more than 31,000 strategic nuclear warheads. Since that time, the U.S. strategic nuclear arsenal has been reduced by about 95 percent, That would leave us with around 1,000 warheads. And thanks to the various treaties that we have signed, Russia will know where most of those warheads are located. So this makes a scenario in which Russia and China collectively conduct a first strike against the United States much more conceivable. If Russia or China knows exactly where our warheads are, it would be very easy to take most of them out in less than 10 minutes with a submarine-based first strike. About the author: Michael T. 14. Russia Ready to Sell Weapons to Egypt Putin told Russian television in September that he supports stability in Egypt as soon as possible and promised that Russia would “facilitate this in every way.” later this month, after talks with the pope on November 25 afternoon, Vladimir Putin will visit Cairo, Egypt. He is expected to announce a Russian advanced weaponry arms sales package to Egypt. It would be the first time since the 1970s that Moscow will regain the foothold it lost in its close ties to Egypt when Egyptian President Anwar al Sadat expelled Soviet military advisers and ended purchases of Russian arms. In 1977, Sadat canceled all military contracts with the Soviet Union in favor of a partnership with Washington and its billions. The new shift by the new Egyptian administration toward Russia is being described by Egyptian officials as a re-balancing of relations and a diversifying of its military hardware suppliers. Egypt is said to be seeking Russian fighter jets and Tor anti-aircraft missiles, along with upgrades of its Soviet-era tanks. As to Moscow, is known to be seeking new bases and allies in the region as its foothold in Syria was undermined by the civil war there. Russians also may be seeking an agreement with Egypt to set up a military base in Egypt to replace its now-threatened naval base at the Syrian port of Tartus. The United States announced Oct. 9 that it is holding up deliveries of some arms and aid to Egypt; Items being withheld by US includes a dozen F-16 jet fighters, about a dozen AH-64 Apache attack helicopters, four M-1/A-1 tank kits and a number of Harpoon anti-ship missiles. The US administration also is holding up $260 million in aid to the Egypt government, and has frozen a $300 million loan guarantee that is part of U.S. military arms financing programs. Cairo has received more than $49 billion in U.S. aid, including military aid, since 1979. Russia Ready to Sell Weapons to Egypt – Arms Exporter Russia Ready to Sell Weapons to Egypt – Arms ExporterMOSCOW, November 8 (RIA Novosti) – Russia will supply modern weaponry to Egypt, provided that Cairo is able to finance the purchases, a high-ranking official at Russia’s state arms exporter Rosoboronexport said Friday. Rumors about Egypt turning toward Russia for military assistance to meet its security needs, following the partial suspension of military aid and equipment deliveries from the United States, have been circulating in the media since last week. Various reports indicated that Egypt is considering spending at least $4 billion on advanced weaponry from Russia. “We are ready to negotiate with the Egyptian side the possibility of deliveries of new weaponry as well as repairing equipment supplied in Soviet times,” the Rosoboronexport official told RIA Novosti. He said such new deliveries would depend on Egypt’s ability to pay for them. But he noted, “Moscow is ready to discuss with Cairo a possible loan to that country.” He spoke on condition of anonymity due to the sensitive nature of the subject. Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Alexander Lukashevich said earlier Friday that Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu and Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will meet with their Egyptian counterparts during their visit to Egypt on November 13-14. The Russian delegation will include the first deputy director of the Federal Service on Military-Technical Cooperation, Andrei Boitsov, and Rosoboronexport officials. “The upcoming visit will help us to outline the prospects of our [defense] cooperation,” the Rosoboronexport source said. For Moscow, the renewal of military ties with Egypt could signify a return in force to the Middle East while US diplomacy is failing all over the region. The Soviet Union and Egypt enjoyed close ties during the 1960s and early 1970s, when the Arab country was led by Abdel Nasser. Cairo purchased a variety of Soviet-made military equipment, including tanks, armored personnel carriers and fighter jets under Nasser. But within years after Nasser’s death, the new president Anwar Sadat started reorienting the country toward the West and expelled about 20,000 Russian military advisers stationed in Egypt in July 1972. Egypt has never acquired Russian weapons since then.
  15. Being the most powerful man in the world means a lot of travels for Putin. On November he he will meet with MP of Israel at Kremlin. Then in November 25 or 26 he will go to Vatican to meet pope Francis while in a visit to Italy; in December he will come to Armenia. http://www.motherjones.com/files/images/putin-cranes630.jpg Putin to Meet With Pope at End of Month Nov. 7, 2013 MOSCOW/NOVO-OGARYOVO, November 7 (RIA Novosti) – Russian President Vladimir Putin will meet with Pope Francis on November 25, the Vatican announced Thursday. Presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said earlier in the day that the meeting, to take place during Putin’s planned November 25-26 visit to Italy, was being considered. It will be the first meeting between Putin and Pope Francis, although the Russian leader previously met the pope's predecessors Benedict XVI and the late John Paul II. In September, the pontiff wrote a letter to Putin [given below], who was then presiding over the G20 group of leading global powers [in St. Petersburg], appealing to him to prevent possible military action in Syria and find a peaceful solution to the civil war there. ------------------------------------ Pope Francis Appeal to Russia's President Putin for Peaceful Solution in Syria [FULL TEXT] By Gianluca Mezzofiore September 05, 2013 http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/articles/504007/20130905/pope-francis-full-text-letter-vladimir-putin.htm To His Excellency Mr Vladimir Putin President of the Russian Federation "In the course of this year, you have the honour and the responsibility of presiding over the Group of the 20 largest economies in the world. I am aware that the Russian Federation has participated in this group from the moment of its inception and has always had a positive role to play in the promotion of good governance of the world's finances, which have been deeply affected by the crisis of 2008. "In today's highly interdependent context, a global financial framework with its own just and clear rules is required in order to achieve a more equitable and fraternal world, in which it is possible to overcome hunger, ensure decent employment and housing for all, as well as essential healthcare. Your presidency of the G20 this year has committed itself to consolidating the reform of the international financial organisations and to achieving a consensus on financial standards suited to today's circumstances. However, the world economy will only develop if it allows a dignified way of life for all human beings, from the eldest to the unborn child, not just for citizens of the G20 member states but for every inhabitant of the earth, even those in extreme social situations or in the remotest places. From this standpoint, it is clear that, for the world's peoples, armed conflicts are always a deliberate negation of international harmony, and create profound divisions and deep wounds which require many years to heal. Wars are a concrete refusal to pursue the great economic and social goals that the international community has set itself, as seen, for example, in the Millennium Development Goals. Unfortunately, the many armed conflicts which continue to afflict the world today present us daily with dramatic images of misery, hunger, illness and death. Without peace, there can be no form of economic development. Violence never begets peace, the necessary condition for development. The meeting of the heads of state and government of the 20 most powerful economies, with two-thirds of the world's population and 90% of global GDP, does not have international security as its principal purpose. Nevertheless, the meeting will surely not forget the situation in the Middle East and particularly in Syria. It is regrettable that, from the very beginning of the conflict in Syria, one-sided interests have prevailed and in fact hindered the search for a solution that would have avoided the senseless massacre now unfolding. The leaders of the G20 cannot remain indifferent to the dramatic situation of the beloved Syrian people which has lasted far too long, and even risks bringing greater suffering to a region bitterly tested by strife and needful of peace. To the leaders present, to each and every one, I make a heartfelt appeal for them to help find ways to overcome the conflicting positions and to lay aside the futile pursuit of a military solution. Rather, let there be a renewed commitment to seek, with courage and determination, a peaceful solution through dialogue and negotiation of the parties, unanimously supported by the international community. Moreover, all governments have the moral duty to do everything possible to ensure humanitarian assistance to those suffering because of the conflict, both within and beyond the country's borders. Mr President, in the hope that these thoughts may be a valid spiritual contribution to your meeting, I pray for the successful outcome of the G20's work on this occasion. I invoke an abundance of blessings upon the Summit in Saint Petersburg, upon the participants and the citizens of the member states, and upon the work and efforts of the 2013 Russian Presidency of the G20. "While requesting your prayers, I take this opportunity to assure you, Mr President, of my highest consideration." From the Vatican, 4 September 2013 (Signed) Francis
  16. Russia would be crazy to let Armenia go out from its sphere of influence, that is No & No for Kremlin. Armenia becoming a member of the European Economic Union or Customs Union is of utmost important for Russia since an economic alliance will give strength and a bond to the military strategic alliance Russia has with Armenia. Armenia is very near to Syria (and to Iran) with whom Russia have future plans in the defense, military, economic and trade fields. Armenia is like a stepping-stone on whom Russia have to put its feet in order to walk over further south into Syria, Iran, (and of course Turkey, when Turkey turns naughty toward Russia. Georgia's alliance with the West has made the importance of Armenia to Russia paramount and Russia would be crazy to let Armenia go). I do not know who is this guy William Engdahl (except what is written under his YouTube interview to a Swedish radio, and which is reprinted below), his English has German or Swedish accent, he speaks about Syria, about Turkey, Russia and the Middle East in an analytical way which makes a hearer scratch his head wondering what he is talking about or where did he get his analysis from.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yIdIHp1xYDA Red Ice Radio - William Engdahl - War in Syria & Manufactured Published in YouTube on Sep 12, 2013 William Engdahl is an award-winning geopolitical analyst, strategic risk consultant, author, professor and lecturer. Born in Minnesota, William Engdahl grew up in Texas. After earning a degree in politics from Princeton University, and graduate study in comparative economics at Stockholm University, he worked as an economist and investigative freelance journalist in New York and Europe. William will discuss the serious situation in Syria and the underlying reasons behind the expansion of the empire into yet another Middle Eastern country. He explains how a radicalized version of Islam has been created and used to manage the war on terror. Engdahl describes the dire situation in Europe, with mass immigration and radicalized Islam, causing much conflict and internal struggle. Finally, he outlines the bigger geopolitical chessboard and where he sees the pieces moving if a greater strike on Syria is initiated.

  20. "LIVING WAS RESISTING" FOR ISLAMIZED ARMENIANS OF TURKEY? Islamized Armenians voice their 100 years in ‘purgatory’ http://www.hurriyetdailynews.com/islamized-armenians-voice-their-100-years-in-purgatory-.aspx?pageID=238&nID=57432&NewsCatID=339 ISTANBUL – Hürriyet Daily News by Vercihan Ziflioglu vercihan.ziflioglu@hurriyet.com.tr Muslim Armenians say they are left in between “in a purgatory,” saying they are accepted by neither Turkey nor the Armenian Patriarch and community. Gathering at a conference titled “Islamized Armenians” held at Istanbul’s Bogazici University, members of the community gave details about their lives, mostly spent hiding their identities in the eastern and southeastern provinces of Turkey. “They ask what we have gone through and I answer, ‘What haven’t we gone through?’ All through our lives we have been in purgatory,” said one of the participants, identified as Sadik from Adiyaman. The feeling of not being accepted by different cultures in society has defined their lives, Sadik added. “I was staying at a boarding school, and the other kids called me ‘infidel [gavur].’ I didn’t know what this meant, I just thought they didn’t like me,” he said. [to a Turk a gavur is always a gavur] Berfin, a 23-year-old who is studying the question of Muslim Armenians for her Master’s degree at Oxford University, said her identity was also problematic abroad. “When I applied to a student dormitory in France, they asked me for a baptism document, and they did not accept me when I couldn’t provide one. Yes, Christian Armenians have had huge problems, too, but they went on to live their identities in one way or another. We have had to live on through 100 years of silent desperation,” Berfin said. Another participant, only identified as H.T., said Muslim Armenians were trying to practice Christian practices in their homes but were trying to behave as Muslims outside. “We said, ‘Living is resisting,’ and so we stayed on our feet. Whatever we did, we were called infidels. Now the Christian Armenians don’t accept us either, so we are left in between,” H.T. said, adding that they were still trying to hide their identities today. Responding to a question on renowned Turkish-Armenian journalist Hrant Dink, who was killed in Istanbul in 2007, H.T. said, “Yes, we fear.” One of Dink’s lawyers, Cem Halavurt, also attended the conference. He said that he personally did not fear revealing his identity, but also thought the Armenian Patriarch and other Istanbul Armenians were right to act with prudence. “There is still a taboo of missionaries in this country. Even the slightest step by the Patriarch could be seen as a missionary act,” Halavurt said. November/06/2013
  21. Saakashvili gained power in Georgia in a bold maneuver that was scripted by the following independent NGOs: the National Endowment of Democracy, George Soros, Freedom House, and some others. The aim of England BP was to detach Georgia from Russian influence and make of that country dependent on the West, specially on UK, so that oil and gas pipelines would pass unhindered and free from Russian meddling and influence. Saakashvili was their chosen vessel to accomplish this. When Saakashvili lost the November 2003 elections to his rival Eduard Shevadnadze; without any evidence he called the elections unfair and claimed to be the winner. This was a tactic that those same independent NGOs would try to apply in Armenia also but in this later case they failed after a state of emergency was declared in Yerevan. A series of mass protests were held in Yerevan in the wake of the Armenian presidential election of 19 February 2008. Mass protests against alleged electoral fraud were held in the capital city and organized by supporters of the unsuccessful presidential candidate Levon Ter-Petrosyan who had lost in that election. In the case of Saakashvili, he called for protests and civil disobedience claiming fraud in the elections, then his supporters held red roses in their hands and, after seizing the parliament building in its opening day, they interrupted Shevardnadze's speech who left for his safety. Georgia's Supreme Court annulled the elections in which Saakashvili lost; Saakashvili himself declared a state of emergency and convinced Shevadnadze to resign. This came to be known as Georgia's bloodless "Rose Revolution." On January 5, 2004, Saakashvili was elected president. He was inaugurated after 20 days. In March 28 when new parliamentary elections were held, Saakashvili supporters used heavy-handed tactics to win the majority. In Georgia familiar tactics were used when it came to elections; election rigging, organized street protests, major media propaganda, and whatever else it takes to prevail. In Armenia after nine days of peaceful protests at the Opera Square of Yerevan the capital, the national police and military forces tried to disperse the protesters on 1 March, 2008. A bloody confrontation ensued where 10 people were killed. Levon Ter-Petrosyan (who was under de facto house arrest) asked the protesters to go home, thus ending the protests; and everything returned to normal in Armenia. Subsequent attempts by Ter-Petrosian to revive the demonstrations and force the acting Armenian president to resign were unsuccessful and his movement then fizzled off. While in Georgia, following Saakashvili's election, state enterprises were privatized. Georgia's civil service was gutted. Business-friendly tax cuts were enacted. Widespread corruption gamed the system for personal advantage of the relatives of Saakashvili and his supporters. Georgia became a ruthless police state. Rule of law principles were spurned. Heavy-handed repression targeted the protesters of Saakashvili's rule. Legitimate opposition was crushed by a police cleansed from its corruption. Saakashvili's tenure included suspicious deaths, disappearances, mass arrests, detentions, torture, loss of civil liberties, mass media control, and allying with England's financial empire. Armenians of Javakhk were repressed and their rights suppressed, some of the Armenian leaders were imprisoned. His biggest mistake was to wage war on South Ossetia in August 2008. He picked the wrong fight against the wrong adversary. South Ossetia has lots of Russian citizens. Moscow intervened to protect them. It justifiably called Saakashvili's invasion flagrant aggression and responded forcefully. In January 2008, election rigging gave Saakashvili a second term. In May, angry Georgians demanded change. They had to wait five more years. What follows his departure remains to be seen, what is certain is that the new comers are not insane like Saakashvili and will act in a balanced way, with friendliness both with Russia and the West. Some called Saakashvili "a charismatic leader"; however what is ignored is that whatever charisma he had vanished soon after his taking of office; in a region where elected leaders too often turn into dictators Saakashvili has become another such leader for 10 years. It was the billions of those supporters of independent NGOs that transformed Georgia into a somehow modern nation, with their billions, specially of the billionaire George Soros (who some say to be only a secret rep for Rothschild and BP of England), Saakashvili would not have been able to accomplish something of significant. Georgians wanted him gone long ago and now they are happy that their wish has come true. Armenians of Javakhk were able to take a breath of air of thankfulness because the one who put yokes on them was no more in power; one such yoke was when Saakashvili forbade them to speak, read and sing in their native Armenian language while forcing them to learn to speak, read and sing in Georgian language. Someday, and he has now plenty of time away from politic, it's expected that Saakashvili will repent for his treatment of the Armenians of Javakhk and start learning Armenian --speak, read and sing in Armenian language! Then it will be possible for those maltreated Armenians to hold the hands of Saakashvili and do a typical Armenian dance all together. In America whites and gringos are learning Spanish in order to communicate better with the Hispanics, I do not see why Georgians would not start learning Armenian in order to communicate better with the Armenians.

The Armenian Missionary Association of America (AMAA) was founded in 1918 and today has grown substantially, it has 3 headquarters or Centers of operations; in Eastern USA at Paramus, New Jersey; in Western USA at Glendale, California (this one opening in November 2013), and the third in Yerevan, Armenia and is located where the old Embassy of USA used to be, at small center of Yerevan. In Armenia "The AMAA started its operations with the distribution of relief supplies and medical programs. This was essential in those 'dark years' of the early 1990's when Armenia was experiencing severe economic conditions, and shortages of basic life necessities. In recent years, through various educational and development programs, the AMAA has been focusing on helping people earn their own living, be self-sufficient and thus preserve their dignity" "AMAA is a non-profit charitable organization whose purpose is to serve the physical and spiritual needs of people everywhere, both at home and overseas. The AMAA is a nonsectarian Christian organization that renders its services to those in need without discrimination. To fulfill this worldwide mission, the AMAA maintains a range of educational, evangelistic, relief, social service, church, and child care ministries in twenty-four countries around the world and often partners with other relief agencies to aid disaster stricken areas throughout the world. 24. While US administration is pushing for a new round of strategic arms cuts with Russia and the president is repeating his call for ultimately eliminating all nuclear weapons and calling for a one-third cut in the projected New START arms treaty warhead level of 1,550 warheads; China is getting bolder and confidence that one day they will be able to destroy "evil capitalist America" and impose their own system of governance over USA first, then over the world, for they have come to the conclusion that they can not take over the world economically, culturally, financially and politically unless first they destroy USA. Another thing soon the Chinese will come to realize is, for them to achieve that goal, they have to form a strategic alliance with Russia, though I do not think they are after a two-polar world consisting of Russia & China. Russia presently is certain that American leaders are in a self-destructive path for their military power that they balked at further cuts of their own military and are developing a new medium-range nuclear missile and modernizing their armies. While China is rapidly expanding its nuclear forces with new missiles, submarines, and warheads. Details of China’s nuclear forces were among the most closely guarded secrets in the Chinese military until this October 28 when unusual Chinese reports were published in numerous major Communist Party-controlled television and newspaper outlets. Those Chinese reports included maps showing nuclear strikes on Los Angeles and the Pacific Northwest, along with the resulting radiation plumes stretching thousands of miles across the western United States. For submarine-launched nuclear missiles, the Chinese plan to target key west coast cities. However they are aware of their capabilities of lunching their ground ICBMs missiles over the North Pole, destroying a whole list of metropolises on the East Coast and the New England region of the U.S. The Chinese nuclear war stories were first disclosed by the Washington Times on Thursday October 31. According to some US Administrative persons those Chinese reports are “wholly orchestrated by the Central Propaganda Department of China for well-planned strategic purposes” and that "the real targets of this new Chinese nuclear propaganda are Japan, India, and the South China Sea states, all of which place heavy reliance on their relations with the United States in balancing China.” Richard Fisher, a Chinese military affairs expert, also said the propaganda highlighting nuclear strikes on the United States appears part of Beijing’s calculated strategy to stoke nationalism and military worship in China. Fisher also said the nuclear war reports and estimates of killing Americans may be linked to Chinese pique at the United States over the late-night ABC comedy show “Jimmy Kimmel Live.” A recent unscripted segment on the show featured children answering questions and one boy suggested that the U.S. response to China should be to “kill all the Chinese.” ABC later apologized for the segment. Also last week, China’s military released a feature-length film that accused the U.S. government of subverting China’s communist system and imposing American values. The military film said the Pentagon was using military-to-military exchanges for those ends and to corrupt Chinese military officers who take part in the exchanges. The film, titled “Silent Contest” also criticized western non-governmental groups, exiled Tibetan leader the Dalai Lama and Uighur human rights activist Rebyia Kadeer. Groups singled out as subversive included the Carter Center, the Asia Foundation, the International Republican Institute and the Ford Foundation who are behind an “America’s cultural invasion” of China. Whatever it be; propaganda or real, or something between those two; the fact is that in the future, the East will rule in the world replacing the West that enjoyed such role and privilege for a long time.
  25. Although there are harmony and rapport between the clergy of the Armenian Apostolic Church, there are also much infighting between them and of cursing each others or cursing others who are not clergy; this, despite Jesus saying: Bless and curse not. The negative trends in the church are from their self-righteousness, from their jealousy, from being fleshly (meaning not being sufficiently spiritual), from their stupid pride (knowing full well that God hates it), from their alienation from Jesus whom they claim to worship as their God but in reality are too far from. Jesus told them "to die" to themselves, to their own ID, to their own ego, to their pride, to their self-righteousness --in order to live in Him, by Him and for Him. Naturally this (this dying of their ego-self in order to have life in Christ) proved to be a very hard thing for them to accomplish therefore they have not been established in Christ yet. Add to this the factor of the Holy Spirit (promised by Jesus to give and abides in them to guide, comfort and help them) this factor being missed from their life in favor of being immersed in absurd rituals and formalities (Jesus commanded only one ritual, that of communion of bread&wine) but He gave various commands of loving God and of loving each others. In this article, written by Vosgan Mekhitarian (who is not from Armenia and hence stranger to Armenia), and it seems to be the part 3 of his series; we see the conflict started between Archbishop Norvan Zakarian and Catholicos Karekin II over a certain priest, Vatche Hairabedian, whom the writer of the article says is "a known convicted criminal ". And like the Armenian story of "the drop of a honey" it escalated to other matters "of corruption and abuse of power at the Catholicosate level of Etchmiadzin". In this case, Archbishop Norvan Zakarianis also is a culprit because in his letter he writes that he has been "insulted and his feeling hurt" by Karekin II. May I say how many times Jesus was insulted and His feelings hurt YET HE DID NOT WRITE A LETTER OF PROTEST AND RESIGNATION! Dear Norvam, take your feeling & hurts and put them in a grinder then mortar them to grinder to be no more then you would have what is called "spirituality". After years taking communion did you not realize what it means: to die to yourself by eating and drinking the "blood and body" of Jesus! What would I have done if I were Karekin II? Came to brother-in-Christ Norvan, as a teacher and not as a boss, and explained the Word of Jesus to him. But in the absent of a real Holy Spirit, anything could happen! Are there anyone in the church who wants to be an imitator of Christ? To follow Christ and not their own whims? Part 3 The Armenian Apostolic Church is Held HostageBy Vosgan Mekhitarian 05 November 2013 The continuing culture of corruption and abuse of power at the Catholicosate level of the Armenian church becomes more than evident when we consider the impact the resignation letter of the Primate of France, His Eminence Archbishop Norvan Zakarian, has been having on the psyche of the current and future generations of the clergy. Let us begin our analysis of the present state of affairs of the Armenian Church by introducing Archbishop Norvan Zakarian, in order to provide a context for understanding the unjust victimization and severity of penal threats levied by Catholicos Karekin II against this devoted and humble servant of God. Archbishop Norvan Zakarian was born in Beirut, Lebanon, in 1940. After graduating from the local parochial elementary school, he attended the seminary of the Armenian Catholicosate of Cilicia. Thereafter, he pursued his higher education at the St. James’ Brotherhood Seminary in Jerusalem. In 1967, he went to France to continue his theological studies. Archbishop Serovpe Manoukian, the former Primate of France, recognized the exceptional character of this young seminarian and ordained him as celibate priest in 1968. In appreciation of his many years of service in the Church, His Holiness Catholicos Vazken I ordained him a bishop in 1982. Bishop Zakarian has had a long and distinguished track record of selfless and obedient service to his parish and church. Moreover, he played an instrumental role in creating and establishing the Armenian Church Diocese of France. He was the force behind the movement that transformed that dream into reality. In 2007, by a majority of the votes of the Diocesan Assembly he was elected as the first Primate of the newly-created Diocese of France, followed by his nomination as a member of the Supreme Spiritual Council of the Holy See of Etchmiadzin and appointment as Pontifical Legate to the Armenian communities of Western Europe. Those who have come to know Archbishop Zakarian have consistently regarded him as a model clergyman, always willing and able to serve the needs of his parishioners, who possesses the intellectual integrity of the highest caliber—predicating any number of important achievements. This is truly a dedicated man of the cloth, who has become the pride of the Church and has won the hearts and minds of the faithful. Archbishop Norvan Zakarian is currently being targeted for ostracization and vilified by vengeful wrath and subsequent shunning by the Catholicos for not supporting the priest Vatche Hairabedian, a known convicted criminal. Archbishop Zakarian summarizes his disappointment at Karekin II’s behavior and verbal invectives in his letter, stating, “For a while now, I have come to realize that insulting me and hurting my feelings somehow gives you pleasure. Your accusations addressed to me, indeed, surprise me. You probably do not realize you are squashing the moral integrity of a human being beneath your feet.” The phrase, “for a while now” leads one to believe that this volley of threats is not singular in nature, but just the latest attempt to humiliate and defrock him by a disgruntled and vindictive head of the church. In fact, the Archbishop iterates in his four-page letter addressed to the members of the Supreme Spiritual Council many other instances of his public chastisement by the Catholicos. We must ask ourselves if this is the just and proper show of appreciation for his 45 years of dutiful service to the Church and nation. Granted, as Christians we can only expect recognition for our good deeds from the Almighty. However, is it not only reasonable to expect not to be persecuted and undermined for such deeds? How can such indefensible behavior by the highest authority of the Church be justified and what message does it send to the new, aspiring generation of seminarians vowed to serve the Church? A specific incident in a public location, disclosed by Archbishop Norvan Zakarian, attests to the extent of the injury inflicted on him by His Holiness Karekin II, who, upon visiting the Diocese in France, launched into a tirade, declaring, “I will take away your hood…I will take away your cloak…I will make you stand before your parishioners and have them witness your punishment. You will not be able to perform conduct any ceremonies such as baptisms, matrimony or funeral.” Archbishop Zakarian has expressed his frustrations with the leadership of the Church by reiterating that the Armenian Church has long stood for love, grace, and compassion, whereas the current powers have instilled a culture of fear and intimidation. Indeed, this is a very sad state of affairs, but these revelations are nothing new. Other high and low ranking priests have been targeted as well, yet the turmoil and abuse of power continues. His Holiness Aram I, of the Catholicosate of Cilicia, suffers from the same megalomaniacal psychopathy, who has declared on several occasions to his young priests, “…anyone who does not listen and obey my orders, I will smash him and cast aside like a dirty rag and will humiliate him, and will make him suffer”. Young priests, the world over, are attesting to this kind of humiliation today. How is it feasible to attract young people to come and serve the Church under such dreadful conditions? Indeed, it is not! Let us make it clear: our concerns are not so much with particular individuals, --although the actions of the current leadership is at best deplorable,-- but with the lack of brotherly love among all priests and absence of the manifestations of love that was taught to us by Jesus Christ. Concomitantly, we should be distressed by the lawlessness within the hierarchy of Church because at the heart of the matter is a representative institution, for, of, and by the people. Where there is no law, there is infamy and the law of jungle, and hence one loses the ability to listen to public opinion and the ability to conquer conflict or bridge differences, especially among ensuing generations, who are now privy to the turmoil in and moral turpitude of the Church. The Church can once again become a beacon of moral and constructive behavior, but only when the ranks of the concerned faithful servants of God abide by His Word and begin acting accordingly. Alas, I am not referring the cowards or those who have sold their souls to please the authorities and gain temporal, worldly awards and decorations. Adding insult to injury, non-elected members of the Supreme Spiritual Council of Etchmiadzin have rendered decisions which exemplify their obsequious nature and servile obedience to the morally bankrupt authority of the Church. His Holiness Karekin II, in his letter to Archbishop Zakarian, states, “ We were surprised to read your letter and the accusations that you make. It is your duty to prove to the Supreme Spiritual Council in session that your accusations are founded and that you have evidence to prove your allegations”. At prima facie, it seems utterly ridiculous to demand substantiation for something that occurred at a public location and was witnessed by dozens of officials, but there we are at an absurd point of having to prove that the rant of Catholicos Karekin II at the Orly airport of Paris, France, actually took place. Isn’t this latest demand a clear case of the abuse of power and rule with impunity by the head of the Church? Who among us is going to have the courage to stand up and declare the truth? For, as the Bible says, “there is nothing hidden that shall not be revealed” (Matt. 10:26). - http://www.lragir.am/index/eng/0/society/view/31241#sthash.nS9pHzFt.dpuf
