hyeguy21
I am new to this forum, and from browsing through past posts, all I can say is that this is a negative place. It's sad how Armenians bash other Armenians, the culture, and etc. We were, and always will be, a proud race. Instead of focusing our attention to any negativity, let's focus on how we can get Turkey to face its past, how we can get Gharapagh internationally recognized or better yet annexed to Armenia, and how we can become a more prosperous people and nation. Hard work is in our blood. I know this might sound cliché, but if we all work together, I know we can achieve our goals. But inner disputes won't get us anywhere. Our enemies, e.g. Turkey, mocks us because of this. So stop eating anousheghen and listening to System of a Down - let's all work hard , because we got a long battle ahead of us. Our enemies know we do not know the meaning of fright. They are scared because we are strong people and will knock them out sooner or later. :box: They also know that we are always prepared... which might lead to their... We can only achieve our goals if we all work together.

Anileve
Oh God, not another 1,000, 001 post criticizing Armenians and their negativity, and that we have to fight Turks. I am sorry, can we just get T-shirts with that phrase imprinted on them, that way we don't have to waste our precious breath on such played out redundancy? It really gets annoying after a while. Besides HyeForum is one of the friendliest places I have come across, so I don't know what you have been reading.

Its not really a fight we are looking at just more lobbying, but again I guess you really do not understand what is at stake. Its not really about Armenian Vrs. Turkey anymore its about whats right, but yes we have to be more positive. Anways, hyeguy21 welcome to the board and feel free to post more often! hyeguy21
anileve, if we stop eating sweets and getting fat, then maybe we can get off our butt and do something? :-) But seriously, I wrote this post with a little humor story with smilies and the point was that we all need to work together. I may be the 1,001st person to say it, but I hope it will take the 1,002nd person to finally achieve it. Don't make me sound like the evil one who is recruiting people to fight Turkey (although I wouldn't be ashamed of that since Turkey is a horrible nation, not just with Armenians, but in general). I said our enemies e.g. Turkey (e.g. meaning example given). Sadly, we have a lot of enemies with hidden agendas. Thanks for the welcome, Vigil :-) Edited March 20, 2004 by hyeguy21
StealthSwine
Hello Hye Forum! Piggy is back You all promised I could come back, and I am here for more of observation reasons. I like to answer your question my Armenian friend. You see, Armenians have always been divided, and thats why we have been conquered. No matter how hard you try, its not going to work the way you want. The Persians could not have defeated us, but we chop off the head of our own General. That is laughable, and I laugh at that too. The Armenian Genocide would have never happened, if only what you said could have existed even on a small scale. All in All, the bigger enemy is not turkey, but freedom in the United States and Europe...Armenians cant fight if there are none, and Racial mixing is slowly causing is to be extinct. According to most of the forumers here, that is the way to go...
hyeguy21
Yes, Armenians have always been divided. But it's the 21st century now. Maybe this generation can achieve unity. Or maybe I'm just too optimistic. But for the same reason I started this topic, what good will negativity do or what harm will positivity cause? If we do not unite, then we all lose. The way I grew up, I've always said to myself in certain situations... if I do not try to win, my enemy will be happy, and why should I make my enemy happy? The greatest defeat to Turkey and the rest of our enemies is when we are winners. Ridiculous disputes among us is the cause of us being mocked. According to most of the forumers here, that is the way to go... You know Pigboy, you are in a special state of post-genocide depression, even though you are far too arrogant to admit it. Donald Miller places it under article 6. of genocide responces, namely Explanation and rationalization. It really saddens me that you can blame this all on Armenian weakness. Maybe you are forgetting that when we really brought an army together, we trashed the Turks (and the Azeris now). What also strikes me is that you can point out defects (in your eyes), but can't come up with an alternative. This is a typical sign of puberty. I am probably only two years older than you are, but I've grown out of this phase a long time ago. Get yourself together, it's pathetic. According to most of the forumers here, that is the way to go... Armenians have never been divided you dolt. If you have not noticed its called globalization. In fact its because of this globalization that your country is slowly losing its identity when some people happen to discover that must of your countries origins is just a fabricated lie or a adaptation of what use to belong to the Non-Turks that lived their before. Like I have said in my previous posts their is nothing Turkish about Turkey. I would rather live one second in reality in which I know my identity rather than being constantly lied into thinking I have an identity, which I have no connection with. Armenians for a people of 6 million and growing, not at the rate we would like, have accomplished more in the last 10 years than Turks have in the last 80. What ever you have is not due to Turkish genius, but rather your still living off the hard work of others. You pride yourself on being "racial pure", but yet one Turk looks like a mongol, while another somewhat Greek or Armenian. So I would not even bring up the subject about racial mixing due to the fact that most Turks have no hegmonic characteristics. One like yourself should wonder why? Maybe you could be Armenian, but have been fooled into thinking you are a Turk. My conclusion is that maybe you should move back to the caves in Asia you originated from and than you may truly become a Turk. I would also like to add that nobody likes to become a Turk due to the fact that they are on the bottom of the social hierarchy. This is evident in much of the places where Turks settle, but I am assuming you ignore these factors. Take Germany for example the Turkish infection has grown to 3 million. Yet these 3 million have not contributed anything to German society. Armenians have already had governers, congress men, writers, entrupenuers, and general are well integrated into society, but what do Turks do except ask for aid like beggers? It would not suprise me if in a few years we will have an Armenian president before many of the minorities in America. Nothing has changed during the 80 years you people have gotten independence and the old saying "give a man a fist he will eat for a day, but teach a man to fish he will eat for lifetime" really explains why Turkey is still an international welfare case. In fact let me ask you which one of Turkey's neighbors has good relations with her? Bulgarians? Arabs? Iranians? Armenians? Russians? Greeks? Syrians? Europeans? Who likes Turkey for anything other than political reasons? Everyone I know that is from Europe or Middle East dislikes Turks. The only rival Armenia has in that region happens to be Turkey and Azeribejian and that is due to their barbaric desire to restore what we assume to be a the Empire of Turan. After the Iraq war the only remaining ally Turkey has is Israel, which does not even trust Turkey after it did sided with their enemy. I would rather be an Armenian, whos acheivments have benefited humanity rather than a Turk that is known in most cultures to have an IQ of less than or equal to a Donkeys. The Persians have a good saying Khara Tork meaning Esh Turk or in english Dumb Turk. Oh and do not think for once that your country will escape globalization. If globalization succeds everything is extinct except relgion, but that in time will decay. This is a forum and Armenians just are talking about what they fear not what is actually happening. We are a open minded community, unlike some people, and we do not fear our fate because if god forbide we do leave this earth we will be mourned, but I do not think anyone will miss the Turkish culture. What are they going to remember the alphabet you do not have? The monuments you never built? The contributations that were never contributed? What is going to represents the existence of a Turkish culture? Maybe in the future they may study the rape, pillage, and plunder that Turks are tied to. In short nothing is infinite and for every beggining their is an end, but what you do with that short amount of time is what places you among the gods. mx5
Pigi,I dont know how can you compare or conclude examples from as far back as the year 451 A.C.and compare it to the modern days unrealisticaly. there always have been different opinions about going to war, while some wanted to ahcieve their goals or protect their beliefes through war, others wanted it through other means example:diplomacy or even mariage!! at that time. it was an uneven battle 66,000 soldiers against over 200,000.yes We lost the battle but yet we prevailed due to the enormous casualities inflicted upon the enemy. you sure know what im talking about ,vartanantz. The division in our history ussually came from the lack of single authoriative central command decision, because each ISHKHANUTIOUN had to make its own political decision according to its own geopolitical standing!!. This even went into our modern history the lack of central decision example:ASALA .we were not devided for the goals as much as for the means. this was all pre-Armenia's declaration of indipendance. now look at the post Indipendance:aT last we have a central goverment who makes the crucial decisions and every body is more or less abide to it,even the diaspora ,sure there will be some critisizm but will remain within that context. Honestly I have yet to come across an Armenian who will not agree to the Artsax policy or its integration with the Mainland. hyeguy21
Wow. Why did everyone blow up all of a sudden? This was the same negativity I was talking about originally. You see, it leads us nowhere, We just fight and argue with each other while our enemies laugh at us. I have one comment about... We have EVERY right to critisize a "people" who ruthlessly massacred our people. I totally agree that victims (as in us, Armenians) have the right to criticize Turkey because Turkey denies the genocide or any wrongdoing. Jews do not criticize Germany because Germany faced its past. Until Turkey faces its own past, we are going to criticize Turkey. Otherwise, everyone will forget and Turkey will get away with genocide. But I believe Turkey will one day accept the genocide fact, because Armenians will lobby against its admittance to the EU. Turkey also needs to fix its problems with inner human rights violations and the issue with Cyprus.

StealthSwine
I will justify my statement. 1. for 500 years, the Serbs and Greeks fought the turks, Armenians just sat there, doing nothing. 2. it is not globalization, it is lack of leadership. 3. We are not united, because if we were, then where is our leader? or leaders?

Well, first of all, for someone who is new to this site, I don't think you have been here long enough to determine that this place is "negative". I too am new here and I completely disagree. There are MANY threads here with very civil discussions and debates. On occasion there are posts that may be negative, but you can't look at ONE spot on a apple and determine the apple is "no good". Second, You come to this forum critisizing us about critsizing, a bit hypocritical, no ? If everyone agrees on everything - how is that of any benefit to anyone. Imagine a forum where someone posts something and 30 other people agree. Different views are expressed, I would say the VAST majority of posts here are NOT negative. I did like all the characters you used, though
