Yep I agree Accel,

The purpose of History education is not really learning all kinds of facts, but learning to think yourself about a subject, compare sources and form your opinion based on the various works written.

LOL!!!!!!!!!! allarmeniangirl jan, i had AP english for 1 year and HP for another year..

Thats why i said "analytical essays" we would have to write jazillion pages on a stupid poem or song or something.. and then we got into transcendentalism and AIGH!!! im happy im out of that.. it was annoying.. LOL.....

really. well, i like english and analyzing poetry, but i never wrote about a song though, mostly books, about irony too(when it happens), poetry and other boring stuff(as some would call it but i don't :P )

The best subject in High School was HomeEc. The ratio of women to men is 30 to 1 usually.

The worst was comp Sci The ration of women to men is about 1 to 1000000000000

Guess what classes I took. Hint I am still single.

Why oh why did not of my high school guidance counselors tell me these things. :(

Gurgen, I hate historyjust make sure you dont scan in your history paper...

I think they make History faaar too boring in high school. I never appreciated it because I was usually stuck memorizing a thousand things per test. Now, I rather like hearing people talk about things from the past and/or picking up a book myself and reading up on it...

Organic Chemistry is the worst subject ever. Hands down. Even those who haven't taken it hate it. And those who DO take it look like this ---->

I've taken about everything in my own time (undergrad years): Economics, Linguistics, English Literature, Philosophy, Political Science, Criminology, Women's Studies, History, Anatomy and Physiology, Math (Calculus, Algebra, Discrete Math), Physics, Chemistry, and I've had good experiences with all of them, but my absolute dedication was to Philosophy. When I look back on my undergrad years, I don't regret having taken so many different courses, it gave me a better view of everything around me. :) And I did do better on some subjects more than others. I admit I didn't enjoy anatomy too much, dissection wasn't my thing. Poli sci was way too introductory and boring for my taste, but it was pretty easy to get through. Women's studies was a bit hard for me to cope with, because of my anti-radical-feminist views, and the fact that the course was taught by a radical feminist 'dyke'.. I loved my language and linguistic classes and labs. It's great to learn new languages and analysing semantics and language structures, relates pretty neatly to the philosophy of language and thought. B) English Literature was boring because you can pretty much write anything you want about it and it can't be wrong as long as you can provide a good argument for it (something we as philosophers are trained to do anyway) :D As for the sciences, I had a blast with them except for my chem laboratory sessions, because the supervisor of the lab was an old woman with a horrible temper. If we touched a flask, she'd yell at us... Economics was boring too. But Philosophy, it's the one subject I've fallen in love with. Give me my books on philosophy and come back in another 40 years, I will still be reading them and trying to find new meanings in them.
