As for the American system being corrupt, look at the lobbying system, its disgustingly corrupt. If you open a thread on it, i will show you facts. Im currently studying American Politics at school, so i can bring up a few facts, it would be goodif you could try and counter them maybe?

barev shahumyan,

feel free to oprn the thread yourself :) I'm sure that there are many here that would engage you on this topic. I, for one, would love to read the results! Welcome, BTW.

Ignore vava .... no public porn threads please. Feel free to PM those to vava. :o

About the corrupt lobbying system ... I won't dispute that. There are many ugly and dirty things going on in the political system and as we have seen with the "capitalist" system was well such as with the now very infamous Enron busniess.

However, the point which I think usually gets totally lost is the fact that the overall system is not based on corruption. When Arnold gets elected as the governor of California, I personally am CONFIDENT that it was the people that voted him in. When bush gets elected by some strange and stupid voting anomaly, I am fairly confident that it was actually an anomaly rather than some coverup to get him elected. The lobies and "fat cats" and those in the elite circles do play big roles in things no doubt, but the system underlying everything is not "corrupt".

In a totalitarian or communist state you cannot develop fully as a person. The motivation to be productive is not there. You have limited access to exploring the world and yourself.

And human life is not valued as much over there. You comrades think the opposite because there your neighbor brought you tea and listened to your problems when you were down, as opposed to here where you don't even know your neighbor. But the bottom line is that here you DON'T NEED your neighbor. Society allows you to be independent by giving you opportunities. I can get my own tea, without having a "connection" at the corner store.

Your right i am crushing Armenian Americans because they all give the Armenians from Armenia a bad name. Dont beleive me? Go to Armenia. Ask the people, just like I did.

You keep on saying how much you dislike the "Armenian Americans". That the Armenians in Armenia dislike us, etc., etc. But why don't you ask yourself a simple question. Would the locales in Armenia survive without the assistance of the Armenian Americans that you dislike so much? I don't think so...

I see how an environment full of people walking the streets, men talking in parks, people playing backgammon on their front porch, kids playing outside, having neighbors within yelling distance, etc., is much "richer in spirit". I also see how one can feel more "alive" and "nostalgic" in that environment. It has a "poetic beauty". But the reason is a lower standard of living.

In developed countries people don't walk because everybody has a car, kids don't play on the street because they have so many other places to go, people don't play backgammon on their porch all day because they have to be productive at work, neighbors are not within yelling distance because you can afford better/bigger housing, etc.

So the very things that some are so nostalgic about are the direct result of a lower standard of living. The nostalgia is very understandable though.

I have a friend who grew up in Nigeria. He went to a poor part of Mexico. He comes back and tells me "Mexico was the s**t, people begging on the streets, little kids walking around naked begging for money, people coming up to me telling me 'I got ***** for $20', etc." He obviously liked it because the 3rd world environment reminded him of back home.

But the reason all this is happening in Mexico is THE LOWER STANDARD OF LIVING. It's very nice, and homely, and nostalgic to a person who grew up in these conditions, but it's not like the people do it because they love it. If they had a choice they wouldn't.

Just because you are nostalgic about your home country, it doesn't mean the system was better.

Fellow Armenian Communist supporters!

Listen to me!

We should not hail the communist system as the savior to the armenians, but the system that should crush their beliefs, in order to start all over!

We Armenians are a disunited people, who make fun of one another, and lose all we have because of our constant jealousy of eachother.

Why are the Turks in our country? Because they are united and patriotic, and I like them because of that.

Why are the Jews rich and strong? Because they work together.

For God's Sake! we dont have a good soccer team but good players, we cant even play sports right because we all want to win..

that is why armenians are good at boxing tennis and wrestling, one player games...

SO COMMUNISM MUST DESTROY THE DEVISION AMONGST OUR PEOPLE! IN ORDER SO WE CAN START SOMETHING NEW! FRESH!

Man i cant wait for the bashing im gonna get...

So should Armenians be united & patriotic and wipe out other people? Is this what you so admirer? Think about it.

It is the fact of Turks being so united and patriotic that makes them both laughable and very dangerous....best to have a mind of ones own - no?

Thoth, how about Americans? Aren't they united and patriotic? And you begged the second question. Aren't they laughable and dangerous? :)

Communism is bad that is why is death. Capitalism is death too. Social security killed it long time ago. Communists say we only strived for communism, but never got one, it was not the system that was bad but the people.

I think people became bad because the system allowed them to be bad. So who, or what was wrong the system or the people? :)

G - I don't disagree with anything you said there...did you really think that I would?

Actually let me take that back...I think the system of communism is basically untenable...(becayuse we are talking people...and it is not a system for people...its the utopian dream of economists...and what T F do they know...(particualrly the worst kind of economist...communist ones...believe me I know...studied under a few once....

Nazi Germany scared the shit out of people before it sent one soldier to the front...Soviet Union scared the shit out of the world, and what it said was done (some things)

Hmmm... ironically, today there is neither Nazi Germany nor Soviet Union. so don't bring the examples of loosers as some kind of model ;)

LIKE I SAID! THEY WILL REMAIN IN HISTORY FOREVER!

AS their leaders struggled for something that was too far in grasp!

COmmunists wanted to unite everyone and form one corrupt government with smart people (not so bad)

Nazis wanted to united all white people and to create their own version of utopia...

why should armenians do that? we can go out with a bang...there still are russians and germans...

Oh so that's your mission here? If you want we can skip all that mess and go right to the banning. You can add one more "score" to your portfolio of getting kicked out of places.
