Sad But True

I'm really sick and tired of a lot of so called "armenian-americans" saying that Russia or the Soviet Union was a threat to Armenia. And that Russians are horrible people. Im sorry to say but Americans are far worse like the British and you must be a joke, and i mean A JOKE, to call yourself an american armenian. Most Arevmdahyes call themselves this just because they were there for some odd years. Plain and simple... THE RUSSIANS HELPED US. If it wasnt for Russia yerevan would look like 1300's baghdad. It was the Soviet Communist Spirit that brought up Armenia. Not "INDEPENDENCY". If it wasnt for russia the genocide would have taken even more lives.

This may be controversial but... I think the reason why most arevmdahyes are pissed at armenians and russians being close is because they chose to be with the turks a long time ago. While us in the beautiful east shared a lot with the great Russians.

I was there in Moscow this past summer of 2003. I got to see how these people REALLY are. They are just like us. They have a very DEFENSIVE spirit. And they love who they are and take lots of pride.

It was Russia and Eastern Armenia that brought up our country. Not beirutzi businessmen.

im not really sure if I totally agree with what you are saying--or disagree--for that matter..about Russia helping Armenia whatever the situation..I choose not to discuss that.. But what strikes me the most is your comment on Armenian Americans or American Armenians...you know what, I am an Armenian American and proud to be both at the same time...because I do indeed live in America and am given many rights that would not be given to me if I were living in Armenia at the time being...I am not saying that Im not proud of my Armeian heritage, I truely am proud to be Armenian--sometinmes that is...and may I ask where do you live?America or Armenia or Russia?? if in America, then you should not be complaining and saying such things because if you were living in communist Russia you would not even have the right to post such ideas or even comment on the government because Communist Russia had a total lack of freedom(s)--true they may have helped Armenia rebuild and helped the "economy" but they also took away many basic rights of the people--therefore leading to the downfall of communism--if it was suich a good thing--it would have lasted--trust me!

one more thing i wanted to point out is that disliking cmmunists--of the past----does not imply disliking "Russians" in general....not that i dislike them--but in general terms....

Simmer down there buddy...

The thing is...No Armenian is good...

I am just hopping no Turk reads this or it will be total hell...

We are not group workers, and not team players, and what you are writing shows it.

Don't trip, sure if the Dashnaks were to become communists, maybe we would be bigger, however they didn't.

Armenians are sell outs to their own kind, but loyal to others...Go Figure that one out...

As am I!

Do I have no right to judge my own people?

According to the forum rules you must show proper respect to the other forumers, whoever you might be. We will make sure that is the case. If you have problems with that, let me know in a PM.

If you were to come here, and according to you are Armenian, why not have a broughter view of your own people rather then narrow one?

I don’t think we are on trail here, are we?

Piggy - OK - no censorship here - but I am wondering much like Extra is - copncerning your age...and that you are comming here to teach and judge us and claim to know the anwer etc...

And for your information there are many lessons to be learned from the Armenian Genocide - first and foremost (IMO...and thats all it is) - is tolerance. Armenians were the victims of intolerance - and if we act otherwise to others - then we have learned nothing...

It is not a question of being happy or sad, if you are really 15, then you need to, like Armat told you, educate your self first, for the lack of having a mature discussion try to make a first good impration, If I were you I would take a moment to think then respond. ;)

For the last time!

You must be the most bias Armenians I have met!

I am Armenian! And that is the wrong lesson to be learned from AG.

I spent time with Americans who care more about the AG than you guys, but only because of its real meaning.

And yes I am 15. I have educated myself, I have even went to a university to ask one of the professors his opinion.

I do not understand why I am getting picked on.

Piggy please don't assume that we don't care or are unknowledgable. I for one spent way to many years battling various Turks at Genocide sites and the like for anyone to claim that about me. And believe it or not - there are many here who have greater knowledge concerning the Genocide than most proffs...

Sorry you feel like your being picked on....but I tell you what - promiss to check our Genocide archive discussions and broaden your mind a bit...and we will be nice...OK

PiggyWiggy since yore so young and have some mixed filling’s on some subject, my recommendation to you will be to take some time and read, educate your self before you rush in to any forum and say anything to ANYONE, subjects that your trying to discus might be bit over your head. Take some time and learn… don’t insult anyone and do your best…don’t rush and answer to each one of our post’s, many of our forum members can help if you have any questions…
