ExtraHye
Life is nothing but disappointment and heartaches. Just when you start opening up to somebody they turn around and show you there true colors. I've come to the same conclusion that I had come up with long time ago, that all men are PIGS. Even the nice and friendly once. But then they all are nice in the beginning. It's true when they say men never grow up!!!
Sasun
I thought men are dogs... no? ok, but how many men have you known that turned out to be pigs? can they be a really good representative of the men population of the world? think about it... hyebruin
welcome to the real world extra jan!!---most guys are that way and society enables them to be so too, especially with the age of marriage going up and the "no commitment" mentality they have and are proud of! <_< ...a worthy guy is one who showers you with love, attention, caring, compassion, support, and yet does not suffocate and try to control you!!---he is sooo confident in his manhood and in himself that your accomplishments and happiness make him "extra happy" (haaa no pun intended!! )...all the other losers can kiss our sweet you know whats!!! this is how i see it! you attract whatever you believe to be "true" and whatever you believe you deserve!!---(not just with guys, but with EVERYTHING in life!)--- so think:intelligent, successful, kind, generous, giving, loving, sharing, committed, sweet, thoughtful, "you-focused", not looking elsewhere!...and your'e bound to come across him! (of course don't forget sexy and a great kisser!!--that's just a given!) this is NOT a list of perfection! but if a happy stable relationship is the objective the above qualities need to be met! AND need to be reciprocated by the woman as well!! it's a 2-way street! and not a one way dark ally that leads to nowhere!

Sip
I don't know about men being pigs but I am sure just like pigs there are good ones and bad ones. Some will take advantage of you and use you for their ego like a piece of meat and some will actually care for you as a human being with emotions. Either way (or with anything in between), there is only one thing in life to rely on and that's one's own self. The rest all come and go and anything is possible. BitterSweet
men are humannn, why do women and men separate themselves and act like they're two different species? men are capable of loving and giving, and they do, most just arent as emotionally expressive, as we women are. We just tend to take too many things too damn seriously. I mean come on, ive seen so many females, including myself, take one littttle thing and blow it up as if it's the end of the world... the funny thing is that at the spur of the moment you actually believe that it's such a big deal. from what ive seena lot of men are scared, of a relationship, of being hurt again, of giving all and being taken advantage of, being taken for granted, being used, on & on.... so find a defence mechanism and try to cage their hearts I personally feel sorry for the boys, really I do. They DO get hurt, and it usually occurs way deep inside. Some carry the unhealing wound into other realtionships and to finish it off WOMEN are just as bad as men, same kaka different bowl, we hurt them as much as they hurt us. hyebruin
well, how in the world then do you explain those who have NEVER been in a relationship with a girl! only little flings here and there, want to feel love but are frustrated that they cannot! have delusions about the girl cheating on them (mind you they've NEVER BEEN IN A RELATIONSHIP TO GET CHEATED ON TO BEGIN WITH!!)... what is this madness all about??? and i do see more and more of this kind of b.s.!! when these "men" first grow up then they will be worthy of the time and the company of a real woman! until then, they can amuse themselves with their toys and ...well i won't say that here!! BitterSweet
bruin do you really think that only applies to males? come on, if you havnt been in a relationship, you havnt felt the tie, youre gonna be afraid of the negative info you hear. Hmm. As for an answer to your example, put yourself in these shoes regardless of gender, you've heard from all around you, hey my bf/gf cheated on me, bla bla, (and these ppl tell you about these aweful experiences) ....you're prone to think, hey what if that happens to me? ...especially since you havnt been in a relationship, you aren't confident about what does really happen between two people when they become so close. so you dont know, so you fear, and you're scared . and the older you are, the deeper you think, the harder it is. Sasun
BitterSweet, good points (finally someone not singling out men ok, just kidding). I must add that jealosy is a more serious problem than having or not having been cheated before, or being exposed to stories of cheating. hyebruin
well it still doesn't make sense! if you make an effort and try and get to know the person, then???!! eureka!! i know it!! it's because THEY are tempted to do all those things they hear about, and thus see the world the way THEY are and not how things really are... THOTH
Bittersweet - thanks for the positive words about men. And yeah we are the same - but often very different - with differetn interests and expectations (viva la difference though eh?)...and yes - men get hurt too - very much so... And I know lots of guys are very fearful of comitment. They feel (and sometimes rightly so) that gals are expecting more in terms of a long term attachment and such then they are willing to give (for whatever reason). And perhaps in many cases women are just expecting too much - or too much too quickly...don't know. And some guys will never be good for such anyway (like the ones who always see such as some kind of a trap)...while others might be - but still aproach it differently. Its important that each side make the effort to understand the other...but most just aren't capable of such...
BitterSweet
Sasun, right, there could be dozens of explanations for it... everything cant be seen in one angle. Thoth, I agree that men can relate to men in some areas, as women can to other women... but it isn't as bipolar as people make it out to be. also, i dont agree that we differ immensely on our expectations. Respect, devotion, trust, etc... a few examples, are what any normal person would expect from the opposite sex Edited November 24, 2003 by BitterSweet
CheekY
aren’t some(or most) men scared of commitment because they might “never” be able to sleep with other women? and if they do we can make their lives a living hell so we girls expect our men to stay loyal…is that too much to ask for?? lol i mean if a man is away from his wife he might cheat and his excuse would be…i’m a man i have "needs"…but girls wouldn’t really do that…no matter how badly they needed it! <_< "ive seen so many females, including myself, take one littttle thing and blow it up as if it's the end of the world... the funny thing is that at the spur of the moment you actually believe that it's such a big deal" i think males do that too lol they're just able to stay calm(not always) while we might overreact...but we realize our mistakes much sooner than men...it might take them a few hours or days
