well, is it just me or alotta armenian pple gettin married when they're like 15? everyone i see around me from ages 15-22 esp girls are getting married. in my opinion, its a lil too young to get married at that age- i dont know if its just pple around me, but it seems to be cliche fot armenians to get married by the time they turn 22, for gals and maybe 25 for guys, and next thing you know theyre havin babies one after another- wowie i gotta say- slooooooow down- simma down naw-

hehe- anyway, my opint being that these young "people" are getting married and havent even experienced life yet and in my opinion getting themselves into more than they expect- in order to get married a couple should be mature enough and responsible enough to carry out typical day to day tasks, and another thing ive seen thats common among armenians is that they are too dependent on their parents. they get married and still live with their parents, or still depend on them financially. that may bring out a whole other issue- is it just me or is this really somethng that is becomeing more widespread among armos?

EDIT: I edited the title, so people will know the subject of your post - vava

There are some advantages to getting married/having kids early. eg. see your kids grow old(er) and understand them better because the age difference is smaller. Chances of a successful birth are also higher when the girl is younger/healthier, etc.

they get married and still live with their parents, or still depend on them financially.

I dont see a problem with living with parents (as long as the house is big enough and the women get along with one another  ), but yeah I wouldnt get married unless I could support my family....wouldnt respect myself otherwise.

i think youre missing my point here- getting married early- as in like 20's is cool- but when pple are like 15-16 and getting married- ouch-thats a bit young right? i dunno maybe things are a lil different in Australia?! but my point is- wouldnt you want to live yuor life and have fun and get an education-etc. most people can balance all these things at once-marriage, children, school...but not many can..anyway..........and im not saying get married whenyoure 30 or 40 and have kids when youre 40-50- just saying that getting maried too early may create problems.....may may not who knows................................

I have to say the opposite is more true. ALOT of people are getting married in their mid to late 30s.

that's because with the more americanized ones, it takes them 3 decades or more to become "ready for a relationship!"...but there's also a different breed!! (don't know which is worse, really??!!) and these are the ones that marry too early and cheat right and left every chance they get! i've heard it from the HORSE'S MOUTH!!! ---they think it's a privilege/right that they have!!---what can i say? society is disintegrating as a whole, and why should this area of life not be affected? <_<

good point bruin- i agree very much society is disintergrating, and it seems as though this shouldnt be an exception....i dunno i try to be optimistic but sometimes some things outweight others.... :(

by my observations, people who want (do) get married early on compose only small proportion of Armenian population in Armenia or abroad.

in fact, i think marriage age goes up. more people start trying to come to a financial stability before marriage.

(still, this is not an excuse for Azat)

those who get (what to get) married early, i think, think that they have reached to their potential of growth, think their potential spouse will run away, and/or want to have sex with the loved one but hesitate to do so before marriage.

Hey Bruin - you weren't supposed to tell! :shocking:

Actually - here in the states I think most are getting married later. Both men and women are going to college and concentrating on careers etc - and many/most want to date and have some fun before setling down...and even then are waiting to have children...and this is fine IMO - but one shouldn't wait too long - as too many friends of ours have had trouble getting pregnant when into their late 30s - so there is really a window I think...

And as for getting married in ones teens - I think it is a great mistake (for most) - as your really without a clue about the world and don't understand what a relationship is all about and so much more. Sur eit may work out for some - but for most I think it willbecome a problem as you age and learn more about the world around you and yourselves...

And I was just kidding..."bruin...yeah waht i told you...all that stuff..It was just joking around....er yeah - it was about someone else that I know...yeah thats the ticket... :bag: :goof:

so even if we think we're mature enough we're still not?

you learn about the world all your life...some people get divorced when they're 60+...what's that about? they realized they'd made a mistake after decades of marriage??

what is a relationship really about then?

So true my friend, dissapointments are born out of high expectations. People suffer when they desire too much.

Oh, but don't get me wrong... without some sort of aspirations/objectives, you're never going achieve anything! I'm just saying that people today are far too distracted by other things (career/education/financial concerns & even leisure!) to be able to invest the appropriate aount of time & effort into their relationships. Relationships have become expendable :(

Perhaps - I'm just saying that the tendancy these days (at least amongst my peers) is to let relationship time take a back seat to other 'more important' concerns. I don't necessarily agree - but that's the choice we are seeing more often... I think it's rare when you find a couple that prioritizes their relationship (excluding kids etc.) and invest the actual time it takes to build a proper 'team'

OKvava I do hear you. And considering the pressures to suceed - rarely are things handed to you...and that females also must think career and not just marraige, kids & family...etc it is somewhat understandable. And your disposable comment - sure this is reality for many - and much due to these pressures - and mobility etc in society. But I still don't believe that it is universal....but no doubt our family structures and life modes are changing - and we must adapt (or I should say you - yuou young folks...us old folks are more or less pretty set already...and most are just baffled or even ignorant of the changing world around them in many ways...is this what you think of me? Old fuddy duddy that I am? LOL :wheelchair: :wink2:
