THOTH
Accel - your into warhammer - way col - what factions do you have etc? I'm a long time Dungeons & Dragons player/gamemaster...of course haven't pleayed do much letely - but my kids have been getting into it and so I've been playing some with them. In fact - for the last two years - my eldest has had a Lord of the Rings party. The first year I did a recreation of the fellowship's traverse through Moria...painted up some minatures and used those I already had...I use a 3D cave/tunnel complex system from Dwarven Forge called Master maze - http://www.dwarvenforge.com/index.html - thats just awesome (I have pretty much all of the sets [i have industry contacts so get the - reletively - cheap - and when put together - wow! Its awesome]...so we recreated the flight through Moria - with goblins, cave troll and of course the Balrog...the kids played the fellowiship companions...and the funny thing is that it ended up very much like in the books (or movie for those who haven't had the pleasure..)...the Balrog caught them on the bridge and Gandalf defeated it but was also brough down...pretty awesome and the kids loved it. Of course last year we recreated helms deep! I have various wall sets and had to buy and paint many figures (lots of Uruk Hai)...and what a battle...the orcs blew the wall just as in the movie,,,abd the battle raged (Aragorn died though...oops!)...but my twist was th arrival of the Hurons to save the day (following the book and not the movie...though I had Haldir and the elves there)...anyway...next year (march) i imagine we will do the Battle of Pelenor fields and the fall fo Sauron (oops did I give it away? LOL)

Accelerated
hey dude did i say something wrong? nah nah.....I had just realised that I had some paperwork to do and left....this isnt really a chat thing so we dont really greet and say goodbye to one another one we had 4-5 beers in a span of 6-7 hours 4-5 beers over 6 hours wont do much to me am afraid statements like "oh people do it so so will I" is what usually triggers a response from me yeah sip, but have you thought that maybe these 'people' are onto a good thing? Accel - your into warhammer - way col - what factions do you have etc? Yeah, I used to be, back in early high school. I didnt have much money back then though and its an expensive hobby so I only managed to get a few miniatures (High Elf swordmasters), army book and bought white dwarf every month etc. But if I were to get back into it I think I would go with the Brettonians, just love knights too much And oh yes - driving cars (fast preferebly)...definatly a great joy for me! I was driving home from a party (had had a few drinks, but under the limit and really tired), I had just gotten the Mazda....was about 1am, little traffic, tuned into a radio station playing the best trance AND it wasnt raining but in the (not far) distance I could see lightning strikes....words cant describe how mad (good) I felt. And then my parents called and told me the dog had ran away.....

LOL - well for me - of late - my version of this is my wife and I are out (in this case at a party - over 2 hours from home...at a good friends...and I had brought and opened an entire case worth of [fine] wine)...well after we were there about 1 hour - the babysitter calls - my youngest kid has a fever...well give him Motrin or tylenol or something and call us back in an hour (I say)...but Nooo - my wife insists we must go home and take care or "our child" etc...needless to say he had taken the medicine and was perfectly fine when we got home... Harut
thank you all for your suggests. some of them intrigued old memories. some sounded fasinating. some are just too weird to try. speical thanks to Sip, who brought me back to reality. hobbies? what hobbies? do i even have time to have any hobby? what about all these books piled up that must be read?however, for last few years, i allocate very little time for my personal/interpersonal entertainment/hobbies. i think it would be fair to cut down on programming a little and do other things.
Sip
Harut ... no matter how much stuff is piled on, you have to make time for hobbies. It's the only way to stay sane. Believe it or not, programming was a BIG hobbie of mine years ago ... then I ended up having to do it for research and work and it sorta got to be a bit "tedious". But I still wish I could do some "freestyle" coding I used to love those competitions for speed coding ... and just messing around with things like OpenGL, different graphics libraries and stuff. I wrote some pretty cool things back in the day!!! I had a full 3D terrain generation and rotation engine back in the 386 DAYS!!!!! I wrote most of it myself. Sip
Of course you already know how my hobbies ened up evovling in the last few years ... as far away from a computer as possible!!! But I didn't suggest offroading to you since it is a VERY expensive hobbie. Oh and I also like to tear my car apart every once in a while like this and this. This was a couple of months ago!. I realized at some point that I was messing around dangerously close to the airbag wires. I was lucky they didn't go off!!!!! I realized just in time. Sip
To make it better Car designers and manufacturers aren't necessarily aware of what I like in my car ... they tend to make things for the average "cup-holder damanding" consumer.
