Sip
Sip - a word of advie from a newbie... don't play inactive players but no, I made the same mistake in week 3. It would be nice if stupid yahoo would tell me which ones are inactive ... or better yet ... which ones are going to suck each week. Although I think they do that if you pay and get the newsletters. Oh wait a minute ... hmmmm ... maybe there is a secret to the strange success of some of the people around here
ExtraHye
Hey, the only one that gets to play with ExtraHye is me I'll setup a leage with only 2 teams allowed I like the sound of that, Sip and I playing one on one.....

Whoo hoo! LOL Sorry E-H - I had mixed your infatuation with Sip to think it was Acelerated...my mistake and I'm most sorry...but what I said before goes..if your just in it for Sip - i suggest you pursue him via other avenues... Sip
Why would you say that? Cause I had an inactive player on my roster this week that I didn't know was inactive But it wouldn't have made a difference anyway. I got my ARSE kicked by like 30 something points... and that's what usually happens when the highest scoring person on your team is the kicker

Accelerated
I think you guys are underestimating my teams potential . True I have made a a couple awful decisions (dropping Faulk for one), but that was before I realised that benched players dont score . And yesterday I worked out what the 10 in '1 & 10' stood for watching the Dolphins chargers game . In any event I am certain to make the playoffs and Im not going to come last so I've allready performed beyond my expectations.
Sip
Jug, I'm not sure how much you know the rules so I'll give you the basics ... 1 & 10? I'm assuming that's 1-st and 10. You get 4 downs to advance the ball 10 yards. You start with 1-st and 10. Then it's 2nd and whatever left, then 3rd. Usually when a team is at 3rd and more than a yard, on the 4th down they punt the ball ... i.e. kick it far. Otherwise, if they can't get the next 1st down after the 4th try, the other team takes over from the same spot which could be dangerous. Last nights game had a very interesting play. The chargers were at 4th and a couple of yards I think. They called a time out since they didn't have their field goal crew in place. They were close enough that they could have tried a field goal. Anyway, after the time out (which the announcers thought was wasted), they came back and lined up. Then they did a strange but legal player shuffle at the end of the line and that made the Dolphins jump offsides!!!! That is a 5-yard penalty offense so the chargers got the first down that way. I thought that was a sweet trick!!!!
Accelerated
Yeah, Sip I worked that (yards, downs etc.) out watching that game. Only watched about half of it though, so I dont think I saw the interesting play you're talking about.
THOTH
Yeah, Sip I worked that (yards, downs etc.) out watching that game. Only watched about half of it though, so I dont think I saw the interesting play you're talking about. Accel - how can you watch the game from down under? Do they actually televise it? Actually American football has a lot going for it. There ias much about the plays - and what both the offesnnse and defense is doing - and what specific players manage thats really awesome. I play a strategy boardgame call Stratomatic Football that I recommend to anyone who really wants ot get a thourough understanding of the dynamics of the game. It is - bar none - the greatest pro football simulation ever made- and great fun!
Accelerated
Accel - how can you watch the game from down under? Do they actually televise it? Yaah, I got cable (ESPN)...they televise a couple games each week Vava, just had a look at the previews...we're gonna have a very close game
vava
Previews?? What previews?
THOTH
Previews?? What previews? LOL - i used to know these guys - back in the days before the internet - who would take/tape all the highlights from ESPN and cut and splice them - arranged for each fanstasy team/match up in the league - and make a (fantasy league) highlight tape each week...fanatical...i know...but you gotta love it... Accelerated
Previews?? What previews? in yahoo football, they have matchup previews rating most players for every team for that particular weekend.....
vava
in yahoo football, they have matchup previews rating most players for every team for that particular weekend..... ... and you believe them? They're a bunch of ... well, yahoos. <_<
Accelerated
well, those 'yahoos' helped me get to where I am now, so they cant be THAT bad.
vava
Well, I just smoked myself - and the player I traded for got injured after just 74 yards!!
vava
Azat I liked your predictions, but injuries are killing me. Lost 3 backs so far... Unless Westbrook comes back from injury and Bennett comes back clean, I'm afraid that I won't be in that #2 spot (although I'm still #2 in points...)
Accelerated
Azat I liked your predictions 123.90 points! More than anyone else this far into the season and DOUBLE your score. I think this calls for a change in the team name.....
vava
Yeah - you got good output from Lews, Culpepper & your D. meanwhile I got shut out by two of my 'top-scorers' Well, these things happen. Hey - you got a good draft. Edit: I meant Taylor, not Lewis Edited November 10, 2003 by vava
