The inconsistent teams will start showing their colours closer to week ten... it's still early. Armenia's Mger Mkrtchyan has been confirmed as the 14th challenger for WBO super-middleweight champion Joe Calzaghe's title. Mkrtchyan, known as 'the Matador,' is the WBO's number-one challenger and the chance to fulfil his mandatory title duties makes this an attractive stop-gap fight for Calzaghe. Mkrtchyan won the right to challenge Calzaghe with a shock three-round KO of long-time WBO number one Freeman Barr in May this year. The fight will be held at the Cardiff Ice Rink on 6 December, with an undercard featuring Wayne Alexander, Jamie Arthur, Gavin Rees, and WBU champions Takaloo and Enzo Maccarinelli. The 26-year-old Mkrtchyan has a record of 18-1-0 (13 KOs), but there are no recognised names on his record and he is little known outside his homeland. However, his three-round stoppage of Barr compares favourably to Charles Brewer's recent performance against the same opponent - it took Brewer five rounds to get the job done. True - I don't at all disregard that he has a pretty good team and has done a fine job manageing it thus far...not bad at all for a rookie (and an Aussie to boot)! I used to watch Australian rules football on occasion a while back - and really enjoyed the game...I love the two thumbs up (at the waist) thingy the refs do (too cute! LOL)...but really I did enjoy watching the games...(nothing beats the NFL though -IMO)...Accel - have you ever even seen an NFL game? With Culpepper back - he could put up some good numbers... yeah well - just as I have Culpepper back, Lewis sprains his shoulder, and they reckon he wont be able to perform (as well) for the rest of the season I dont like Aussie rules football, and watch rugby league instead....the season finished a month ago with 'my' team (Canterbury Bulldogs) getting knocked out in the semi-final . Accel - have you ever even seen an NFL game? yeah its ok, I still havnt watched an entire game (I get bored), mainly because its just such a stop/start affair and with the timeouts just too much.....also one of the reasons why dont like basketball. I wasn't thinking at all that it would matter who I had going on the bye wek...so I set up my team for this upcomming week. I was surprised to see my score increase (but not nearly as much as it would have if i would have played my studs [KC players]...argh) - then it dawned on me...don't know if it makes any difference except for bragging rights though...still - I wan't to at least outscore Juggs... And ExtraHye - we would be happy to have you join us next year...but do you know anything at all about football? (like - most importantly - who the players are - what teams they are on - what positions they play - who is any good [who scores touchdowns & such] etc etc)...but yeah - if you want to come hang with the guys thats OK (as long as you aren't offended by the crudities on our bulletin board...hasn't been too bad...but some leagues I am in...well, you can imagine...).. (hey - your not the one in love with Accelerated are you? That wouldn't be fair...you'd be trading him your good players just so he likes you & such...can't have that...)...but yeah if you are at all interested I could coach you a bit on the basics (I am a very good teacher BTW...concerning many things...LOL)...seriously though - if your really interested... I was thinking about it though. About football, I just don't know ... yet another loss. But I am confident about playoffs ... I think I'll have it all ironed out by then.
