THOTH
Artaxias - so you are proud of Hitler, his views and of Armenians who joined the Nazis in WWII - how very sad (but not at all suprising). Here are a few quotes for you to consider (all from “Hitler and the Armenian Genocide” Dr K.B. Bardakjian BTW): Alferd Rosenberg, Chief ideologist of Nazism (the German Gokalp) stated: “Armenians are even worse than Jews” and called Jews and Armenians “the people of the wastes” Hitler is quoted as saying: “Considering that only a pure consciousness of racism can ensure the survival of our race, we were constrained to introduce racial legislation in such a clear way that such legislation could eliminate all alien racial infection, and this infection is not caused only by Jews. In enlightening the German people with regard to this racial legislation, we should conceive of it as having the task of protecting the German blood from contamination, not only of the Jewish but also of the Armenian blood” Hitler also is quoted as saying: “One of the most famous examples is the downfall of that people who were once so proud, the Persians, who now lead a pitiful existence as Armenians” Apparently Hitler believed that Armenians were once the original Persians – and although they were clearly “Caucasian” they had fallen low by blending with Semitic peoples etc. – thus he saw Armenians as somehow “fallen” Caucasians. So who is the loser now. No need for me to prove it - your twisted self-loathing views are proof enough. And you complain that AR makers Armenians look bad... And Gams - proud to be a Middle Easterner...and that is indeed what we are - however its all certainly a matter of semantics...but FYI Armenians are a people who's homeland is in Asia - at the very headwaters of the Tigris and Euphrates...and we eat Homus, pita and lavash...how much more iddle Eastern can one get...LOL
khodja
Gamavor, Thanks for the levity. My mother used to say that if you live in the right neighborhood, your cat will never come home hungry. The Anglo-Saxons in our town, including the so-called Christians we went to church with, called us names. They questioned whether we were to be let in to the clubs. This in spite of the fact that my Dad was a real "germag Hye" fair-skinned with flaxen hair and blue eyes. I guess my Mom was dark and took after her half-Assori father. The Jews, however, welcomed us into the community associations with open arms.
THOTH
My father never heard the end of it from some relatives (well he did - they stopped speaking to him...but indirectly I mean)....including from his own mother - who disaproved of his marrying my mother - a fairly light skinned Armenian. They considered that he was marrying a "black" and he was somewhat shunned. My father's mother and my own mother rarely ever spoke and my mother would not join us when we visited my grandparents. So much for "white" solidarity (with Armenians....)
khodja
Thoth, I have experienced this many times myself. So much for Armenian "solidarity" with the Aryan white brotherhood. I am fairly light-skinned and have been told that I have an actor's good looks. I was dating a Southern belle from Georgia. When her parents heard who she was steadily dating, they worked to end the relationship, stating that I was not white. Yet I am as assimilated an Armenian as they come. gamavor
Where you eat those "delicatessens" Thoth? In U.S.A. ? Houmous is Arabic, or rather middle eastern food enjoyed by many Europeans. Pita is international and very popular among East Europeans. Armenia is in Asia according to Who? Who said here is Europe and here is Asia? Isn't it the same person who said that Armenians originated in Thesalia, isn't in the same person that said that Armenoi is right there..... .Thoth, If Hitler said all those things he wouldn't be happy with 40 000 strong battalion in WWII. Are you seriously believe that he would utter these words, and than will accept Armenian soldiers (and generals) on his side. Common. One thing you are right for, that it is not something to be proud of. You just like many others believe that it is better to be on the other side of the fence rather that facing the reality. Jews are lonely being the only victims and they did their best to "invite" the Armenians, BUT don't be fooled, just to certain extend. Same mentality is applicable in our suffering from the Turks. We don't want to be the only once that suffer. Greeks, Bulgarians, and almost all of the East Europeans suffered too, but WE suffered most. Hagarag, You are victim not of Genocide, but victim of the modern era. Your inferiority complex is HUGE! You live with your memories of your childhood when U.S. was not that democratic place. I believe that Anglo-Saxons are inferior to me for reasons that I'm not going to describe here. I see them everyday.
THOTH
Well yes I realize that Homous is perhaps more Lebanese/Arabic then Armenian...but funny how it seems that it is served at nearly every Armenian event/gathering I go to (outside of my family - for which it is not a traditional food)... But - yes - I think 100% of all geographers/cartographers as well as Atlases etc would list Asia Minor and the Caucuses as part of Asia... Those (Hitler) quotes are from a fine book written by an Armenian (diplomat/lawyer as i recall) who spent a great deal of effort reserching it. In the book these quotes are footnoted and fully attributed. Funny - the last person to dispute quotes that I produced from this book was someone denying that Hitler ever said the "After all who remembers the extermination of the Armenians" quote...and he too said it was irrational for Hitler to say such a thing...regardless Hitler was an irrational man...and you must understand how desperate the Reich was for personel - particualrly on the Eastern Front. Towards the end of the war they were using young boys and old men... Yes others certainly suffered terribly at the hands of the Turks...but I can agree with you here - we certainly did suffer most...and continue to suffer IMO... gamavor
I'm not French but I like French cousine. I hope you understand this. I Hope. Geographers said that Caucasus is not Europe, but in your (and my) country Caucasian means European???? Same Geographares said that Armenians originated in the Balkans! Thus, Europe straches up to the Eastern slopes of Ural, far east from Caucasus. The formation of the Armenian Batalion started in 1941. At that time Hitler was not despared for "human resources" (i love this americanism). Acctually the preperation started much earlier. Can you be sure that the author of the book with the quotes from Hitler was not someone like Hagarag? A side question. Do you believe that your racist Nordic ancestors would have accept any other white nationality (or not that white, lets say Greek, Romanian, Serbian, Maltese, Spaniard (they are really very darkish)), or they were only prejudiced against Armenians? Friendly suggestion: Change you nickname!
khodja
Any Armenians who may have sided with the Germans in WWII were doing it because they wanted to topple the Soviet regime who had sent tens of thousands of Armenians to the gulag or to death. Hitler wanted an Aryan race of blonds with blue eyes. Have any of you Armenian monkeys looked into the mirror lately. Less than 10% of us have the look of my father and grandmother. The majority of Armenians are dark, hairy midgets. (MAZOD TO THE MAX). No room in Hitler's world for us. Gamavor and Artaxias have been hoodwinked by the far right wing. The KKK and the Aryan Brotherhood will never accept the Armenians as their own.
THOTH
I'm speaking of Armenian gatherings where Armenian food exclusiley is being served... My Father's family probably had never heard of Armenians before...and while they may have been prejudiced against Greeks/Bulgarians/Spaniards etc - the fact that Armenians were noticibly darker - and more like (to them) Arabs...well... Armenians originating from the Balkans is very likely total BS. It seems that Armenians were settled in Anatolia for a log time beofre they were even know as Armenians... I am familiar with the Armenian battalion and when it was formed (and why...Hagarag basically has it right). Even in 1941 Germans were in desperate need of troops for the Eastern Front. Many Bulgarians, Rumanians and such also served... ...those quotes are good ones...BTW...no reason to doubt author one bit...and how many Armenian Hagarags could there possibly be. And regarding my sig - mind your own business...and in fact I have been told (in other forums where I use it) that it fits me well... gamavor
Hagarag, I came in USA in 2000 and since than I'm puzzled of American Education. First. Aryan doesn't necessarily mean BLOND. How many blond Italians have you seen. I have had at least 12 clients of which only one was blondish, but he was mixture of Austrians Italians and Dutch. Have you seen pictures of Douche. He looks like a Spanish Gypsy.Second. Romanians and Bulgarians were allies of Germany. Do you know where proto-Bulgarians originated from. Siberia. Some believe even Mongolia. Are you following me? Armenians that sided with Germans did it for different purposes. Some wanted Soviet Union toppled and re-establishment of the First Republic. Some did it for money and looting, other for ideological reasons, since they were real nazis. There were also people in between them seeking revenge. And my guess is that many were simply despaired morally.
gamavor
Thoth, if your nordic ancestors cannot make a difference between Arabs and Armenians, than they are coming from a very low class people. So, according to you they were predjudiced about anybody else, but to them Armenians were too dark. Are you sure you are Armenian. My goodness!!! I rest my case! Accelerated
WOW! A very interesting discussion....I really wish I had the time to go over everything. . I will just comment on a couple of things that caught my eye.... The majority of Armenians are dark, hairy midgets. (MAZOD TO THE MAX). Im MAZOD and proud of it baby! I look like a man, not a faggot like you! And I bet, maybe in 50 years time, being hairy is going to be the new fad, and everyones going to rush for hair implants (LOL - wishful thinking maybe ) And the Armenian Legion never saw action, I doubt it was even trained and uniformed etc. Just a bunch of guys signed up and formed into units (on paper only). There was also an Azeri Legion btw.
THOTH
Gamavor - In no way will you find me defending the beliefs/actions of those on my father's side of the family...that being the case - they were country people - with no contact at all with ethnics and such - and to them any non-white (Anglo/Germanic/Nordic) etc - was - "Black"...and in fact equating Armenians with Arabs (and I just supposed this - don't know if it was true per se...) - well for folks such as they - we are essentially Arabs/Middle Easterners - what difference is it to them (and remember this is the 1960s - middle America we are talking about). I wouldn't exactly call these people low class - some were fairly wealthy BTW - (and I still own many many acres of prime farmland as part of my inherita\ence...at least I wasn't cut out...in fact...even though I am a "darkie" myself....i was a favored grandson & nephew - I was never ostrasized....my personality just shown through I guess...in fact personlaity wise etc I take after my dad very much...LOL) And along similar lines I once worked for this Okie (guy from Oklahoma)...who equated me with Arabs - this was in the mid-80s. I was always bringing in Basterma, Soujouk, paklava, Boreg, Choreg and such...and yes...the Homous! LOL...well he would always put down the food - claim that Reeses Penut butter cups or such and other American processed food was better...and regarding Humous - he asked what it was made of - and when I explained he hooted and said "thats what we feed the pigs back in Oklahoma" - so from there on out he would ask me if I was brininging in any more pig food to share...etc. And of course whenever there was any Arab terrorist attack, or if Khadafi were up to something he would ask me what was going on - because all you Arabs/Middle Easterners etc all think alike..... And Accel - good for you - be proud of what you are...why not...and in fact Armenians have a great deal to be proud of - and no need to connect themselves with Europeans per se...(the worlds imperialist/colonialists/ultimate worst Genociders...) khodja
Sip, No one chooses the way they look. It is just that certain Armenians here have such a lousy attitude that Armenians are members of a so-called Aryan race that is superior to third world peoples. Many outsiders consider Armenia to be part of the "third world." As for your fag comment, gays do no consider me gay. The fact that I am attracted to women, sleep with women, have been married and hope to marry again negates me as a gay in the eyes of most gays. From your perspective, I am a fag, from their perspective I am straight. No one who knows me would suspect anything unless I told them. There is mazod and there is MAZOD. Having a hairy back up to and meeting your head hair is not attractive to most women. That is why there are people making beaucoup bucks $$$$$$$$$$$$$ in LA removing the hair of excessively hirsuite men and women.

THOTH
Hagarag - don't worry/get upset with folks calling you gay or fag - its pretty meaningless IMO. Just as these racial categorizations. What relevance are they really - these lables. I and others here are holding discussions and such with you (and everyone else0 - not having sex or measuring cranial characteristics, checking skin color or whatever - so these categories are irrelevant. that you have your own sexual life - and whateveer it is or however it can be characterized is your own business and - except as perhaps you relate it to something we are discussing for one reason or another - it is entirely irrelevant (and your own business). I fail to understand why people make such an issue over this....(and over the race thing...)
khodja
Gamavor, I was born in the USA. My parents were Armenian immigrants (unless you consider my 3/4, Armenian 1/4 Assyrian mother to be an odar). My mother was a child when she came to the USA and my father a young man who came here from Europe, having left the Ottoman Empire before the Genocide as a child to go to school at a European prep school. When I visited Armenia, I was perplexed with some of the attitudes of the people. They did not understand why I was a strict vegetarian and assumed that I was a Hindu. I am also perplexed with the attitudes inculcated in the minds of Armenians from the Soviet Union and the Middle East. I was married to a Libana-Hye. The Arab mentality of her family drove me nuts. We come from different backgrounds. since you are here in the USA only three years, it will take you time to understand us. Perhaps you will mellow with time after you learn the Aemrican ways. When I spent my college junior year in France, I quickly learned the French ways. Hopefully you can do the same.
Artaxias
THOTH if you are Middle Eastern rat that doesn't mean the rest of us, even the diasporans are. Not everyone is a Genocide survivor that was forced to live with savages in the Middle East. You are the minority, brainwashed by 100 years of life in the Middle East.Very little of Armenian is left in you...Because the normal Armenians who are well educated choose not to associate with your kind that does not mean that you are 'Armenians'. We don't eat pita, we don't eat humus and we don't eat any of that primitve food either. We don't listen to tribal arab music nor do look like your kind. Quit trying to make us look something we are not. How's it like being on a turkish payroll?People like you showed where Armenians live during the Genocide. pepper
havnt had time to read the eniterity of this thread, but feel i have to comment on some of the nonsense being spouted. mongolian armenian, semitic armenian, aryan armenian... i think some people are getting a little scary about all of this. as homo-sapiens we are all related from the same tribe of africans that left africa about 160,000 years ago. thats right ALL of us. doesnt matter if your from mongolia, scotland, or easter island - we all have the same genetic make up. there's less genetic difference between a japanese man and an african than there is between a Jack Russell Terrier and a Bulldog. we are all the same under our skin. that includes armenians and turks whether you like it or not. where the difference's lie is culturally - which is what makes the world interesting. some of the garbage on here reminds me of the Nazi's and their insane ramblings on euginics and aryan supremacy. its fine be proud to be armenian, but try to concentrate on being proud of Armenian CULTURE, rather 'our pure bloodlines' and other such fantasies. Artaxias
as homo-sapiens we are all related from the same tribe of africans that left africa about 160,000 years ago. thats right ALL of us. doesnt matter if your from mongolia, scotland, or easter island - we all have the same genetic make up. Now, this is an interesting one, because the people who "discovered" this make no efforts to hide that they think it started with a black man. I am not going to attempt to disprove this by science, nor do I want to. I have seen other evidence that shows human life did not originate in Africa. What I am going to do is toss some logic and common sence your way. Let's just say, for arguments sake, that human life DID originate in Africa. Wow, the first human being. That would mean this "race" would be far and above all others on the evolutionary ladder, and it would also mean that the birth of civilization was non-Western. Let's just assume that since the first man was in Africa, that would naturally mean the first settlement was in Africa as well. They should be heads and tails above all others, but they are not. Africa of the past and Africa of the present are eerily similar. Both practice cannibalism, female mutilation, tribal warfare, slavery and other nice little neanderthal-like things. Where are the great, vast African civilzations, where are the GREAT African inventions (you can save stuff like Peanut Butter and the Traffic Light, I am talking about mathematic inventions, world changing inventions, stuff of great importance, etc.)? Now, since "African man" was first and Whitey was second, since then we caught up quite a bit. Modern civilization as we know it has the White man to thank for it. Government, monetary systems, roads, transportation, etc. are all products of our race's ingenuity. Meanwhile, the African man's evolutionary ladder seems to drop a few steps; whereas, the White man can collectively act civilized in Western society, the black man ON A WHOLE remains similar to the tribal ways. Violence, "conquests", gangs (tribes), drum beat music (rap) and horrific living conditions (you can compare African conditions to any ghetto and find some similarities). So, you see, whether or not African man was first, they sure as hell didn't take advantage of it now did they? Yes, African societies have most certainly been less advanced than European, Asian and even American Indian (Aztec, Inca, Maya) societies. But I do not believe that is because Africans themselves are incapable of "advanced" thinking, organization, and all that other stuff associated with self-made civilizations. It is just that, due to geographic and historical circumstances (which I would gladly explain in detail if you're interested in hearing it), African societies haven't had the need to develop their own civilizations. As the saying goes, 'Neccessity is the mother of invention.' I don't see that Africans have had the 'neccessity' of 'inventing' civilization-type things. Hence, they have remained in a primitive state, because that primitive state has (perhaps until recently) met their needs quite well with minimal effort.
