Hagarag jan,

It distresses me to read your words equating satisfying your sexual desires for men with a "death sentence". For all out there who do not know, or are confused over the issue, whether you're a dirty fag, a weird bisexual or a filthy breeder, here are some points of clarification over HIV and AIDS.

Here are the ways one may contract the Human Immunodeficiency Virus, no matter what your sexual orientation...

1. Through unprotected anal or vaginal intercourse with another person. Whether you are the receptive or the insertive partner, you are at risk of contracting the disease UNLESS YOU USE A CONDOM AND WATER BASED LUBRICANT (i.e. have safe sex).

2. By sharing needles and syringes when administering intraveinous drugs.

3. By an HIV+ woman giving birth to a child who may have any wounds sustained during the birthing process come into contact with her bodily fluids. (very rare actually).

4. By taking another persons cum in your mouth during oral sex while you have any kind of ulcer or dental/gum irratation at the time.

Having oral sex while your mouth is perfectly healthy, absent of any cuts or irritation is considered a VERY LOW RISK activity.

YOU CAN NOT CONTRACT THE VIRUS BY KISSING OR SHARING A DRINK WITH A POSITIVE PERSON!!!!

Even if you are unfortunate enough to contract the virus, this is no longer the 1980s and testing positive is no longer a death sentence. By no means would I ever suggest that life with HIV is a barrel of laughs, but HIV drug combination therapies are so advanced now that people are still living meaningful, active lives 20 years and more after first being diagnosed HIV+.

It is frustratingly clear to me that so many people in the western world are so miseducated about an epidemic that has profoundly changed the way that people have interacted with each other over the past 20 years.

I make no apologies to anyone who found this little lesson disgusting or whatever, because it is only through frank education and open discussion that we as human beings (not armenians or gays or americans etc) are going to be able to deal with this dreadful disease once and for all.

Case in point: an estimated 1 in 6 men, women and children in Central Africa carry the virus to their early deaths. They die so young mainly because countries like ours are too interested in McDonalds Happy Meals and bombing the crap out of Iraq (not to mention all those other naughty Muslims!), and too greedy not to provide those people with the medication that we know would improve and sustain their quality of life. But even a smaller financial outlay and a bit of energy put towards educating the people about how the virus is spread could prevent so many casualties of ignorance.

I guess this is slightly off the topic, as many years have passed since the disease was referred to as "Gay Mens Cancer", but obviously people still relate it to issues of sexuality. Please realise that we are at no less and no more risk than each other when it comes down to this.

Sin Safely!

damien.

The sooner the majority of Armenians come to understand than alternative sexual orientation, issomething that has been with us since the beginning of mankind, the sooner ALL of us can work toward our common goals. The impetus should come from the leaders of the churches to moderate their policies. This may create problems for the ROA, however, as the only nation more moderate on this issue which borders it is Turkey. In Iran, foe example, I believe such persons are executed.

hagarag, you still don't understand that the church in Armenia has very very little social impact. if it had, then all those other religeons and other nonsense stuff wouldn't grow in Armenia. maybe it has political power, but no social, especially among the youth and former communists.

i think you need a little update on Armenia as you are still stuck in early 20th century.

kids in Armenia don't go to chruches to get education any more.

kids in Armenia don't pray in schools (in regular basis) any more.

kids in Armenia don't study religous subjects in schools (at least they didn't when i was there 4 years ago) any more.

preasts don't come to schools to preach any more.

most people don't go church on regular basis any more.

most people don't even know how to pray any more.

and so on...

Harut,

So with the exception of the religious fanatics we now find in US (whom I consider politically motivated devils and not REAL Christians), Armenians have become Americans!! When I was young there was so much more love between people (the love of each other as fellow human beings). We had every ethicity and race in our community and every economic class from corporate CEO's to common laborers. There was a real sense of community. Yes, were one of less than 5 Armenian families in a community of 30,000 and were considered "sand n-----s" by some, but overall our world was a more peaceful place.

Damien,

You have limited your discussion to AIDS, but there are many more diseases which can pass from men to men, men to women and women to men. The amount of ignorance out there is amazing.

The powers that be do not want to solve these problems because without disease the global pharmaceutical giants wil go bankrupt. Those damn Armenians are making trouble again!!!!! Who are they to try to compete with us for the world dollar? Any cure for AIDS MUST come from the labs of the prominet nations, not from some obscure backwater nation. The gall they have to posture that they have a cure for AIDS. Listen small-fry get to KNOW who is BOSS, OK?

MODERATORS, I kindly ask that the comment above be deleted and Damien is given a warning. It is an insult to our parents, and those of us who are parents themselves. And no, I am not taking this far, I dont care if its a joke. He may insult me all he wants, but my parents are out of his (and everyones) bounds.

What are you talking about Jug? He said "... whether you're a dirty fag, a weird bisexual or a filthy breeder..."

He didn't say anyone in specific was any of that. I don't even know what a filthy breeder is but I doubt it has to do anything with your parrents. I think most likely you misunderstood what he said.

Yes, he didnt say anyone specific. The point is he said 'filthy breeder' in the context that ALL breeders are filthy. And MY parents are 'breeders' as they 'bread' me. I hope that clears it up. True, in that line he also calls ALL fags 'dirty', but that is of no consequence to me, he may call himself and his ilk whatever he wishes.

Once again, he said: "For all out there who do not know, or are confused over the issue, whether you're a dirty fag, a weird bisexual or a filthy breeder, here are some points of clarification over HIV and AIDS."

First of all, his point is for all who do not know or are confused over the issue.

Are you one of those?

Second, even if you are one of those, the second part further restricts it to "dirty fags", "weired bisexuals", or "filty breeders". Granted, it may be construed as a partitioning of the EVERYONE space into those 3 subsets. But I highly doubt it is what he meant since that classification obviously does not cover everyone. I really think you are making a big deal out of nothing ...

Summary: I DO NOT think he included EVERYONE in that sentence. I do NOT think he directed it to anyone in specific. Conclusion: I don't think you have an argument.

I don't even know anymore! Day, night, sleep, awake, it's ALL irrelevant ... of course I also have about 1001 different things to do but I spend the last hour doing absolutely nothing while flipping back and forth between different sites (the technical term is called "thrashing" ... when your OS starts swapping constantly onto your hard disk when there are a lot of context switches and you don't have enough RAM). Yah, what a huge difference that made in the universe!!!

What makes you say that?

And I would think that the biggest insult to your parents would be...well...you...
I can assure you that my parents are very proud of me, and not on one occasion has my father said in private and among friends that I couldnt have been a better son (and he doesnt brag like a typical Armenian). I really don't have much else to say, except lets hope you will be able to say the same about YOUR children when their my age.

What MJ has stated is true and many gays and lesbians often refer to bisexuals as WEIRD BISEXUALS. It is not only heterosexuals who feel this way about bisexuals. Some gays and lesbians will shun bisexuals. Some crazy hets feel that bisexuals are passing diseases into the heterosexual community and therefore HATE bisexuals more than they hate gays. Most of this is based upon fear and ignorance.

Somehow, I don't recall having said that...
