Anoushik
Well my name doesn't really mean anything. I just thought it sounded cool. Me being the cool girl that I am thought it would be perfect for me. I also think it's pretty cool. Just in case some new members have doubts, not only are you Hye but you're Extra Hye. It's awesome! Yervant1
My screen name, being part of my "real" name, is my shortened name since birth, and my family and relatives call me Anoushik. When I first registered in Hyeforum I was almost certain that "anoushik" was taken but decided to give it a try anyway. Well, it wasn't My wife's name is not Anoushik, but some people called her that when she was small. How about your name then? Is it Yervant? No it is Yervant1
ExtraHye
I also think it's pretty cool. Just in case some new members have doubts, not only are you Hye but you're Extra Hye. It's awesome! Awww you're soooo sweet, I was only kidding. The only downfall with this name is that a lot of new members think that I'm a guy. You'll be surprised how many girls would talk with me just because they thought I was a guy. Well only one did and it was around the time I just joined the forum. Azat
When I joined I wanted to use my real name Harut on HyeForum but some schmuck had taken that so then I decided to use my middle name MosJan and that was taken too so I decided no one in the right mind would have taken second middle name Armen, but no luck... So at that time I decided to take the name that everyone called me when I was young, I knew no one would have used that, but Anoushik was taken by a lovely lady so I got stuck with this name Azat. Dont know what it means or anything but it stuck so I now changed my legal name to be the same.

Arpa
My nickname is ARPA. It stands for ; “Armenian Revolutionary Party of Aparan.” No,no! This is an Abarantsi joke. :ap: Here is what it means; http://hyeforum.com/index.php?showtopic=1539&hl=arpa Just because some furks question why I have chosen a name that means barley/gari in their non-language, just like they call Akhurian Arpa Chay, not unlike ehen they call that Sacred Mountian of Aghori Agri kaka, aka Masis/Ararat. We can also abstain to, with all due respects to that hrya Franz Werfel, who did not know the difference between the furkish “dagh” and the Armenian “ler”, call that other Sacred Mountain Musa “(kak/)Dagh” and start calling it with its proper Armenian name- “Musaneri Ler//Musa Ler”. Don’t forget that Aparan /ԱՊԱՐԱՆ means palace as in Siamanto’s Ափ մը մոխիր Հայրենի տուն- “Ավաղ!!! Ապարանքի մը պէս մեծ էիր եւ շքեղ**” http://armenianpoetry.com/arm/1157.html ** Not to forget the similarity of "shqegh/շքեղ " from "շուք/shadow" an aura of awe and respect, and "tgegh/տգեղ" Edited November 28, 2007 by Arpa
Em
When I first came to this Forum and I saw your name I chuckled to myself; because when I was a baby I couldn't say my name either and I used to say Vava to myself too. Mosjan; my nickname came from Anahid chasdvadsouhi. Since this is a HyeForum and I am indeed an Armenian woman then I thought it fitting to name myself Anahid, and I didn't care for chasdvadsouhi so I said Takouhi. Wow. I am surprised as well that your real name is not Anahid.

gamavor
I am so much attached to my nickname that at one point I was contemplating a name change! As you all know Gamavor means Volunteer. Not that I’m volunteer in real life - quite the opposite I would say, but the funniest and memorable parts of my life experience are somehow connected to situations when I was forced to or choose to do something pro bono. Takoush
Dear Anahid, please don't make me to go back to Ch-Astuats, chi-Aramazt, chi-Anahit etc. We have sopken about this before. We love you just the same whether you were Anahid or "CH-Anahid, Takouhi or CH-Takouhi, Astuatouhi ot CH-Astuatsouhi. Didn't we say to not say CHi-Aramazt, Chi-Anahit, Chi-Astghik,, Chi-Vahakn and chi-Astuats? See here; http://hyeforum.com/index.php?showtopic=12...tvats&st=40 Who the hell say astuats is without the CH, is it ayo- astuats/ayo-Buddha, ayo-yehovah/ayo-god/and ayo-allah that our Aramazt and Anahit become Chi-astuats/non-gods? Why are their gods, "got" in German and "goet" in turkish, "gods" and ours are "chi-astvats" non-gods? We know you are a faithful follower of that Ch-Katoghikos Ch-Aram of that Ch-See of Kilikia.....yet.... I am neither a follower of Ch-Aramo f Ch-Klilikia, nor Ch-Garegin of Ch-Ejmiatsin. Neither am I a follwer of any so called Apostolic faith. So! Shoot me. That's alright Arpa jan; I shouldn't have said anything but ASDVADSOUHI, Anahid Asdvadsouhi!!!! No I don't shoot you, it's OK, you can keep me on my toes. Anahid.bmp
Takoush
Wow. I am surprised as well that your real name is not Anahid. Sorry to disappoint you guys/gals but my name is not Anahid, though I also have another nice Armenian name all to myself. I thought it was so fitting to give myself an Armenian Godess' name such as the very loving Anahid Asdvadsouhi of Armenians; especially when I came to a very Armenian Forum as it is the "HyeForum" and I am indeed an all Armenian girl/woman; what else would have been more fitting for me than Anahid!!!! Takoush
(Hear me out Takouhi jan) Have you ever heard a Greek call Zeus, Poseidon or Apollo an av-θεός/an-theos/un-god? I'm sure they don't really believe in them, but looks like they do understand the real reason their native gods matter. Zartonk jan; By the way you really have a cool name!!! You're right what you say above; but I have learned from the beginning in the Armenian primary school that I have attended as they thought me about Anahid Chastvadsouhi, so I have learned it from the beginning that way. That's why I remember it as I have been first thought. But I certainly buy yours and Arpa's thoughts now and why not? It should be named "Anahid Asdvadsouhi". Agreed.
