I just heard on local TV that the Italian called him a "terrorist". I have no idea if it is accurate, also swore at his mother.

Thats what i heard on a local TV also, had to be something stupid like that, but for what ever was said he should not have ended like that, i can imagine moral on the french players when they went for penalty kicks.

bottom line is this insident tarnished his briliant carrer, sad indeed

Boring game, unworthy winner.

I agree, I would not much care of soccer, I just wanted Italy to lose, I hate vocal nationalist communities bullsh!ting on the streets. They get on my nerves when they do that. It's a damn stupid soccer game, it's not like they've had the first place in a world chess tournament. :D

I'm happy for the Germans though, I wonder why they are so happy, but its cool to see them be as pride. I heard the selling of German flags was all time record. They finally are showing their flags proudly without embarassement since the Second World War or the fall of the Berlin wall. I could care less of Italia, but that thing with the Germans was historic.

I don't think it tarnished his carrier, I liked what he did, and I don't know what was told to him, I'm sure the one that recieved the head kick merited it. :)

That is what I said the moment it happened. Maternal trash talk isn't special but that, that is asking for something...

I dont quit agree with you fadul, maybe his action was justified but the timing in which it was dilivered was wrong and stupid, you are talking about one of the best players ever, captain of National team and headed for penalty shots not to mantion best penalty kicker.

like i said, this will hunt him for long time to come, already critics in France are blaiming him for the loss

No lie. :)

The only award I have left off is Best Young Player, which I think should be Deutchman Lukas Podolski.

You are going to make little crybaby Ronaldo from Portugal very sad.

Pretty boys... ;)

Best young player would go to Torres!

Torres was all talent and really did play better, but I have never seen a player get the respect and become so popular after only 6 intl. caps (Podolski).

USA should be crowned as world co-champions.

How absurd, Colbert... ;) :D

Which part do you find it absurd?

It's just that Stephen Colbert made the same decleration that day, and it's funny that despite the abissmal US performance, the all-American comedian found a way to remain patriotic. :D
