Takoush
Sip, how do you respond to Christians in your day-to-day life? (just curious) A good and a valid question you asked Seb. I'd like to know it too.
Sip
emmmmmmm ... how do you mean? I often watch TBN (Trinity Boradcasting Network) because it is funnier than comedy central. So when it comes to televangelists, I find them quite amuzing (and at the same time, very distrubing). When a jehova's witness or a mormon shows up at my door, I have some fun with them usually. I'll pretend to be very interested in what they say, then slowly get freakier and freakier with them until they get offended and leave. It takes some of them a while to realize I'm playing with them. I have been to the house of a friend a number of times whose family insists on praying before food. I respect that and hold hands with them while they do their speil and then eat. When I go to a church for a certain function, I just stand or sit around quietly while people do their wheelings and dealings with the Lord. I do not make a scene or do any disrespectful things because no one forced me to go to that place. I am there often for a wedding so that's why I behave. But deep inside, I do find the whole ordeal quite rediculous. I especially enjoy the "singing" by the der ders Otherwise, I don't treat them any different than I would anyone else. If I go to a fast food place, and the guy taking my order is a Christian, I talk to him the same as I would talk to a jew or muslim. Ok well, to the mexicans, I talk slower because it is VERY important they don't miss the "no tomatos" part. Unfortunately, they often screw that up. So I guess it depends on the context. Takoush
They don't miss the no tomato part? They screw it up anyway? Sip you're so funny. Everything is pertaining to your stomach. You better marry a good Armenian woman who knows how to cook and cook very well, because you like food a lot. Otherwise you'll be unhappy. Takoush
I like the fact that you show respect. Seb: Yeah that's good, but mostly he does that because it's a wedding and he doesn't want to screw up the wedding for the sake of the newlyweds. Takoush
Then Sip you're going to enjoy my singing. I didn't go to Church for 8 months but when I was going I would be the one that sings the "Sourp". I love Church songs. I am glad you enjoy that too. But I am planning to go and sing again in Church when I am through with my studies this semester though; because I have to study on weekends. Sasun
Then I would again remind him that that is imagination and the power of human creativity and not really any better than my touchy feely method of arriving at the conclusion that the pickle jar is God. It's your hypothesis. Imagination takes a second or even less. I am talking about meditation which is inner work, and those who have meditated seriously know that it is really hard work, never imagination. You never meditated so you would not know anyway. People who have meditated a little also don't know. It requires a lot of experience in perfecting the art of meditation. I think I said before, if you look through your third eye and see what's behind the wall, then you actually walk behind the wall and see the same thing, then you realize, OK, this may have been an accident. Then you check other things and realize that your third eye never fails, then you make a conclusion that it is a valid source of knowledge. But what do you know Sip besides your pickle jar ? What I am saying has been found by centuries of trial and error. Call that imagination if you wish, but those who know they know.

Sasun
I absolutely do not agree. the only reason why that person would feel insulted is because that person has no defense mechanism, has no way to prove that the person doing the "ridiculing" is wrong. And by the way questioning religion and God is not ridiculing. You do not agree to what? Something that I didn't say. I didn't say that questioning religion and God is ridiculing. I will give a vivid example: A. I don't think God exists and I don't believe in anything that the Bible says B. that book of yours is , I am sick and tired of hearing about it, send it to those shitty people where it came from A is questioning, B is ridiculing. It is those who ridicule that are lacking inner security, so they think that the book (or whatever they ridicule) is dangerous, so they attack it by ridicule. You can't attack someone and say its your fault because you have no defense mechanism. And if you so much defend Arpa, maybe you will answer the questions that I asked. If you listen to him he is a poor persecuted guy who has been threatened, but he never answered as to who/when/how has threatene him SPECIFICALLY in this forum. Just one example. Why do you think that you are so important that I or anyone has to answer any of your questions? (remember you said that same thing to Arpa yesterday) Now listen Sasun(and this is how you talk to me) I am not committing any crime by saying either A or B. I do think that book is evil. because of that Book MANY MANY have died. Your church has supported all those crimes. However if I call that book evil or shit(which I have not done out of respect but others have) it is ABSOLUTELY not your right to attack me. And as I have told you before I do not believe in fairly tales. I told you that if you can show one solid evidence that God exists I will become the biggest religious freak known to man, yet no one has been able to do that. Lack of explanation is not evidence of God.

Please just let it go this started to sound like is it the chicken first or the egg? Well I didn't explain that in order to bring a quick final death, we should accelerate reincarnations. Once there is no more need for reincarnation it will be a final death Edited March 23, 2006 by Sasun
Sasun
Why do you think that you are so important that I or anyone has to answer any of your questions? (remember you said that same thing to Arpa yesterday) Obviously you are looking for a pretext to escape taking responsibility and answer why so much wining of imaginary threats or what not. Give me one instance, that is what an honest person would do. Now listen Sasun(and this is how you talk to me) I am not committing any crime by saying either A or B. I do think that book is evil. because of that Book MANY MANY have died. Your church has supported all those crimes. However if I call that book evil or shit(which I have not done out of respect but others have) it is ABSOLUTELY not your right to attack me. It takes commonsense to notice that a book can't do anything on its own. So blaming a book for misfortunes is wrong. It is people who misunderstand the book that committed crimes. Yeah, you are not committing a crime by saying A or B. And did I mention crime? Just shows how illogical your accusations are. Your pal whome you blindly defend has used the word "shit" with Bible so many times that only blind people would not see it. So when you defend him you might as well explain why he has done it. At least an acknowledgement that maybe Arpa has done something wrong. But no, wait, when I ask inconvenient questions I am not that important to answer. I get it. And as I have told you before I do not believe in fairly tales. I told you that if you can show one solid evidence that God exists I will become the biggest religious freak known to man, yet no one has been able to do that. Lack of explanation is not evidence of God. Define God first before you ask for evidence. Everyone asks for evidence for God they can't clearly tell what it is they are asking about. Sasun
Oh, I forgot to mention. My church has supported all those crimes? What is my church? I mentioned that I don't belong to any church. But who am I explaining this, it doesn't matter, as long as you need to make an accusation logic and truthfullness is not that important. It doesn't really matter that I myself have been blaming "my" church for some really bad things. This is the level we have to deal with in HyeForum. Yervant1
Vava that was a nice site Gentalmen few weeks ago we had a roasting event with Arpa as the master roaster, but Arpa refused to participate in it saying that this khorovats will not taste good rightfully so. I took upon myself with humorous posts to stop this back and forth arguments hoping that reason will prevail and avoid the bad taste that will follow if this continues on and good friends will hurt each other for no good reason other than upmanship as to who has the final say You all could tell me go to hell who appointed you for that position. I will say to you I'm sorry for caring and move on and mind my own business, otherwise stop this nonsense and let it go. If this not preaching I don't know what is.
