Are You Afraid Of Death?

I have realized that many people are afraid to death. But that's a very expected condition, now what I found interesting is to get to the core of their fear. What is paramount reason for the existence or lack of fear of dying in individuals. What is the common denominator in all?

So the 2 questions are:

1. Are you afraid?

2. And why?

And perhaps to add to the mélange of metaphysical questions:

Do you believe that "murder" is justifiable in certain cases? Or is murder is wrong, unconditionally?

Come on people, let's see those wheels turning. Let's spice up the discussions around here. Like the old times.

I'm afread of a stupid death like plain crash or slip and fall in my shower

But I agree with Fadi, everyone is afraid of death becouse of unsertanty of what fallows after it, but last days of my father, he was wishing to go, aparantly one close to death comes in terms with it and usualy are peacefull when they go.

Joseph Camble has a very great ilustration on this subject

Since I remember, I have never been affraid of death. Actually, there is not much I am affraid of. That's why you will never see me panic. I have actually never paniced under any circumstances. I am usually the one that is the most calm and relaxed under virtually any condition because there's nothing much that makes me nervous or uneasy.

It's a blessing and a curse at the same time. It's a blessing for obvious reasons.... in that I can keep a cool and calm head no matter what. It's a curse because sometimes you DO need that adrenaline rush and panic mode which are essential to survival. Sometimes being nervous about a bad outcome is a good thing. So I have to try hard to force myself to be "affraid" of certain outcomes in order to push myself to make certain decisions and actions. Otherwise, I often see myself kind of being detached from reality and waaaaaaay too laid back and calm.

About murder being justified sometimes ... absolutely. One of the most common cases is murder in self-defense. Other cases might include euthanasia which is in my opinion better qualified as "assisted suicide" than murder. But if you stick to the technical definition of "muder" as in "killing someone else", then I definitely think there are times when murder is justifiable.

Have you ever been in a situation, where yu're driving and the tires loses traction on a slippery road, yu're headed downhill and any second yu're off the cliff into the valley. The adrenalin rush is so bad that you think yu're heart is frying in a 1000 degree heat. Then you guys tell me if yu're not afraid of death.

I think right around here I might have felt a little tingle once  But it soon went away and I remembered to tell myself not to try to hold the jeep with my hand from the side. :D :o That probably saved my whole arm from becoming a sticker on the huge rock next to me.

These are the before and afters ... I think you can see me laughing in there sitting sideways :) ... or here.

But in seriousness, I definitely know the feeling. B-)
