Armat
I love Canadian folk singer Leonard Cohen-one of my faves. In track "Everybody knows" he got an Armenian oud Player to play along.Very cool song.Download it "bearshare' "limelight" etc. and listen.I also love 'first we take manhatten" Edited November 21, 2005 by Armat
vava
I preferred a lot of his older tunes - although Everbody Knows was a big hit. He's broke now the poor fellow, and he's sueing his management/advisors for having squandered his fortune. A shame really - a very talented singer-songwriter and poet. vava
MacLaen's Article Here. Incidentally Armat, if you like Everbody Knows, check out Tower of Song. It's one of my personal favourites.

Anileve
My newest discovery, even if a little late: Absulution by MUSE. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0001LJC2...v=glance&n=5174 I am extremely intrigued and captivated. This is a very intense rock band with some very interesting sounds, and is apparently being compared to Radiohead which I don’t particularly care for. For some reason I cannot detect a similarity between them. However, the vocalist Matthew Bellamy carries a striking resemblance to Jeff Buckley, whom I love, and plays beautiful piano. I think it’s interesting that he incorporates the romantic period piano into very complex and powerful rock compositions. First encounter of rock fused with classical. Absolutely stunning! Particularly Butterflies & Hurricanes towards the end. Some of my favorite tracks are Time is Running Out, Stockholm Syndrome, Falling away with you, Endlessly, Thoughts of a Dying Atheist and B&H. I can’t say that I am a fan of hard rock but this band definitely has an appeal. Is anyone familiar with it, or is anyone a fan of Radiohead? If so what can you say about the resemblance or their sound.
Anileve
Ok, so no one seems to know Muse or have any opinions of their music. Moving on.... Another recent discovery is Chet Baker's "My Funny Valentine." The title is one of my favorite songs if not the most. I love his sultry vocals on this one, and I love Miles Davis' version of it as well. As for the album itself, it's enchanting. This is a perfect archetype of smooth jazz without being jazz-pop trash. If you want beautiful mood music with a touch or romance and a seductive undertone this is a perfect compilation. Spotlight on It’s Always You, I’m Glad there is you, Moon Loves. Chet’s trumpet is brilliant. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000005GW...v=glance&n=5174

Arvestaked
Paul Motian is playing at Birdland on March 30 and 31. And Oscar Peterson will be there in August. Damn I wish I could go to those shows.
