For $14.99, I would not hesitate for a second, if and when it will become available where I live...even if it was "junk."

Wow, Artem Sargsyan (if I remember the name correctly) is doing that? I was recently remembering him and wondering if Mer Lezun Mer Xosq@ still exists. It was such a good program showing just how difficult our language is. I remember he would often point out how newspapers and books use wrong Armenian.

I'm not a big fan of TV and my knowledge of satellite TV may be - and certainly is - very limited and maybe erroneous. Don't you need to install an external antenna or something simliar?

I live in a building and I don't think I'm allowed to have an external antenna. My simplistic view and expreience of TV is: "if the cable company provides the service than I can get it!" :)

Is satellite TV simpler - or different - than what I think it is? Thanks!

errr... I didn't *exactly* ask the owner of my building.... maybe I should have... but I 've checked with my satellite service provider (and the others in Canada) and no one offers TV Armenia by satellite here in Canada. If we want it , the only channels left to us are grey-market satellite cards...

well I live in Canada and I have tv Armenia, H1 and some other Armenian channel from Glendale. Why pay $15 a month, when you can pay $550 and get a satelite card. It is much better and trust me it is not illigal.

Why pay $15 a month ??? b/c soon - H1 Tv might not be on satelite - since GlobalCast will not make enough to pay for the programm and satelite use

i can see if your in a place war the satelite sevice is not offerd to you - than yes go for it, but if it's only $15 ................. need to say more/./...?

On Di$h Net, you can pick up ArmTV off of the 121 (E9) bird on TP 5. On a $uperdish, that's on 11782 Mhz (V) with Video id 6434, audio id 6435 and PCR 6434. It's the same transponder that carries a couple of persian channels and some other weird international stuff.

Eh, How's that not illegal? And what kind of satellite card costs $550?

BTW - these specialty channels at 15$/month aren't even offered to us here in Canada.

At least not by the big satellite providers - StarChoice and ExpressVu. It's all regulated by the CRTC here, and unless there's something I don't know, any other satellite service in Canada is pretty much illegal - except perhaps the older non-DBS systems (Telesat may still operate such, but I think their core business is more providing satellite capacity, and not broadcast/distribution of individual channels) and especially if you're using a pirated 'smart'-card.

You may want to check out THIS SITE for more information.

This is Canada, there's no such thing as illigal j/k:):)

I have direct tv, it is suppose to be illigal, but everyone has it, and nobody is doing anything about it. I've had it for 6 years now, and I never had any problems with it. If you want to get it, a lot of Russians sell it. It's great because not only you have Armenian and Russian channels, you also get whole bunch of American channels. All Canadians can do is to burn the card once in a while, than you have to only pay $40 to get another one. If you live in Toronto I can let you know where to get it.
