  1. Yes they are, at least here they are....
  2. This is Canada, there's no such thing as illigal j/k:) I have direct tv, it is suppose to be illigal, but everyone has it, and nobody is doing anything about it. I've had it for 6 years now, and I never had any problems with it. If you want to get it, a lot of Russians sell it. It's great because not only you have Armenian and Russian channels, you also get whole bunch of American channels. All Canadians can do is to burn the card once in a while, than you have to only pay $40 to get another one. If you live in Toronto I can let you know where to get it.
  3. 3.i think there is no problem with this in Armenia. but i'm not sure. Philip Kirkorov and Alla Pugachova got (re)merried in Ejmiadzin in Mayr Tajar. style_images/master/snapback.png che ha??? lurj???
  4. What do you guys think about Armenian girls dating/marrying non-Armenian men?
  5. well I live in Canada and I have tv Armenia, H1 and some other Armenian channel from Glendale. Why pay $15 a month, when you can pay $550 and get a satelite card. It is much better and trust me it is not illigal.

  7. Have you ever been to Armenia? or lived there?
  8. I am sorry I meant to quote Lev7 not Armat.
  9. Oh please, not that again. I used to live in Armenia, and if one wanted to earn money, one had the means to do so. Many Armenians don't want to work, because frankly they know that their relatives in Diaspora will be willing to send them money, because after all they are the ones who live and suffer in Armenia. Many have unrealistic expectations in finding work, for example all the young girls in Armenia only want a job in a confortable office. Ok reality check, you don't know a thing about computers, have no degree whatsoever, even if you do, it is bought by your rich daddy, so how can you expect to get an administrative job??? True they don't have pride, because they beg too much, rather than go do something productive with their time. They should be happy that at least they have a house, and one day they will not be thrown out to the street because they don't have enough money to pay the mortgage. I was in Armenia those times, when there was no electricity, bread, and to top it all off I lived in a city that was turned into ruins after the earthquake. Everyone found ways to get through those times. I mean when people emmigrate to the US or Canada, I don't think they live in better conditions in their first few months. Life's tough, but what can you do? If Armenians in diaspora are able to survive, than I am pretty sure Armenians can do the same in Armenia, and even more.
  10. Yan, true we all have to keep hold of our Armenian roots, but to tell you the truth it's a pretty hard thing to do. I mean you live in a totally different society, and to be able to thrive, you do have to become part of that society. Secondly I am not even sure what being Armenian is. To keeo all our customs? to speak the language? I mean I know many Armenians that were not born in Armenia who speak perfect Armenian, and many who have just emmigrated from Armenia, who refuse to speak Armenian. As for the customs, many of the Armenian customs are very old, and I think it is time to let go of them, and move on. We need some kind of progress in life, we can't always hang on to our old ways, and try to fit in with the fast paced world of 21st century. I know this will anger you, but I'd rather raise a child here in Canada, than in Armenia. By seeing today's youth in Armenia, I can't imagine I would want to go raise my children there.
