Gamavor, The issue is that there is too much negative context only "injection" of the Armenian name in television shows and movies. There are far too many turcophile maggots on this planet these days. Today I was watching an episode of "Chuck" entitled "Chuck Versus the Gobbler" in which, at some point in the show, the sister of the main character pretends to have chosen "Grunka" as her unborn daughter's prospective name. One of the characters asks "Isn't Grunka that Armenian serial killer?" This is intentional propaganda that is injected into the minds of millions. What do we have that counters that sort of widespread distribution?

Mosjan, a relative of my wife translated the parts that dealt with the fact that 2 political candidates immediately began accusing each other of the crime. It smells rotten and points to the probability that one of them did it. The whole situation has to be carefully reviewed. The Georgians were there with camera crews, ready to tape the event as it had just happened. Why were they ready? And why were the two candidates apparently prepared with stories of accusations for each other? Was this topic ever discussed on this forum?
-
Apparently one of either 2 political candidates are suspected of killing the baby in an attempt to discredit the opposition. The Armenian infant is the obvious choice in Georgia's climate of devaluation of Armenians. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yjBuE7wBUBU

I know people are conditioned to be anti-racists, and that is well appreciated by an Armenian from Ethiopia whose ancestors did play a role in ousting the Mussolini fascists. It is appreciated coming from an Armenian from Ethiopia who is sympathetic to the plight of all oppressed peoples. However, for those raised in North America, I would also request that we suspend our politically correct conditioning and consider that there are genocides taking place where the tragic role of victim is now legitimately on the one who was labeled as the oppressor. I would debate to no end that the Boer of South Africa were not the actual oppressors of Black Africans and were a population who settled in mostly unoccupied land, save for the Bushmen and Khoi Khoi tribes, who were not mistreated nevertheless. I will also continue to say, despite all conditioned rhetoric, that, ironically, the entire concept of Apartheid, prior to it being hijacked by unsavory elements (whose ascendency to power only began upon losing the Anglo-Boer wars) in the late 19th century, was a mutual agreement among the players of the area such as the Zulu, Swazi, Xhosa, Lesotho and other tribes in addition to the Boer. The Boer had apparently earned the right of survival upon resisting a massacre at the hands of the Zulu despite having been severely outnumbered on their first attempts to settle the Transvaal and Orange regions in the north. Thus, the history of the region as it is simplistically portrayed as "whites oppressing blacks" is too far from reality to even begin to take seriously. The Boer are, regardless of the political meandering of outside interlopers, as native (and perhaps more so) than the Bantu, the Zulu, the Tswana, and others, with the exception of the Khoisan and Bushmen. I type these from memory and will make corrections as I reacquaint myself with the fascinating and complex history of this region, but suffice it to say this: That the perpetual demonization of the Boer is unjustified is a gross understatement. It is also ironic that the natives of the area, Khoi Khoi/Khoisan (otherwise known as the Hottentot) were also driven out prior to the arrival of the Boer/Dutch by the various Bantu tribes mostly originating in the area roughly encompassing the Congos and Angola. The Zulu wars waged against various peoples (supposedly including a Jewish contingent as recalled in semi-legendary accounts about Shaka Zulu's exploits) that some estimate had covered the entire Rift Valley and Eastern Costline, perhaps even up to Beria, Somalia, claims many genocides in its path, long before the arrival of the Boer. With this in mind, I would like to propose that we Armenians have a leadership role in genocide prevention and the breaking of this strange silence about the "Stage 5" genocide alert in South Africa, a reality of a 5th phase in preparation of genocide as classified by Genocide Watch. It seems to be the most silently waged war against an ethnic group since the Armenian genocide began its darkest hours arguably in 1898 under the Hamidiye, culminating into full scale policy driven genocide in 1915. Here's the Genocide Watch article: http://www.genocidewatch.org/southafrica.html For ten years, Genocide Watch has been the only international human rights group willing to declare an Alert about the high murder rate of Boer farmers, perhaps because it is not “politically correct” to defend the rights of people who once supported apartheid. Genocide Watch is opposed to all forms of racism, from whatever the source. The President of Genocide Watch actively supported the anti-apartheid movement in constitutional consultations with the United Democratic Front when he was a Fulbright Professor of Law in Swaziland. He has visited South Africa several times since and will soon visit again. According to the Genocide Watch 8 stages of Genocide, South Africa remains at stage 5: Polarization. http://www.sundaytimes.lk/100328/International/int_17.html The camps of squatters now exceeds a population of 600,000, which illustrates the reality of economic oppression of a formerly lower-middle class population of whites who were hardly "exploiting" anyone to begin with. This also demonstrates the foolishness of "color based" politics that leaves around 4.5 million in the crosshairs of a budding genocidal regime and political structure. Boers specifically are systematically disallowed participation in civil service and the private sector and have been almost totally unemployable. This is clear cut targeted genocide of a specific group. This is not merely "white versus black" as the race pundits will undoubtedly argue, but a dangerous and real genocide in its preparatory stages. Otherwise, a legitimate genocide prevention organization such as Genocide Watch would not get involved. In Zimbabwe, next door, Robert Mugabe's government has already been implicated in being complicit and supportive of the murder of especially white farmers, yet this has not taken on the same alarming and large scale potential for genocidal intent. The various ANC related power brokers of South Africa are now openly chanting the call for genocide, and "Kille the Boer" is now a regularly performed party hymn. Even the most die-hard anti-Apartheid activist has to admit that no such behavior was ever exhibited by the former Apartheid regime. A cursory search on "Kill the Boer" as a EFF party motto yields these results. https://www.google.com/#q=kill+the+boer For a while in the 1990s, also, there had been massive amounts of killings of Christian Ethiopians particularly in Muslim Oromo controlled territory such as the Bale region, but the world stayed silent until the majority of the Christin Amara population was all but eliminated from the area to make way for the semi-independent "Oromiya" state. Amnesty International's single entry for South Africa, for example, deals with homosexuals being mistreated by the police or police brutality in general, but the impending Stage 5 genocide potential is ignored. http://www.amnestyusa.org/our-work/countries/africa/south-africa

I don't see a forum for this topic anywhere. Permit me to start this thread with an initial entry that had me angry: In The new show "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D" ethnic slurs and politically charged brainwashing are abound. In Episode 7 of Season 1 entitled "The Hub" had a couple of glaring Neo-con political moments portraying the Ossetians as ruthless and murderous terrorists who want to break away from the Republic of Georgia. If you recall, the US was supporting genocide against the South Ossetians a few years back, something that failed miserably, causing for much embarrassment. There was as well a racial slur directed at Armenians. Coulson is talking to another senior agent ("Agent Hand") against the backdrop of a large digital map, and at one point - around the 12th minute mark, Coulson asks "and a fourth one standing by in Armenia?" in reference to some cluster of operatives in the Caucasus. A slight pause is taken by "Agent Hand", and then she comments: "Great minds" with a cold sarcasm, which gets a chuckle from Coulson, and they then move on.

Sorry, but this is a narrow perspective of "white versus brown versus blue." Abush is long gone. We now have a "leftist anti-war democratic candidate who hates war" but makes even more war. Let's also go beyond personages and parties. They don't exist except on paper and meaningless ballots (since there is rarely an alternative choice on the ballot). Let's look at this, once and for all, as imperialism/globalism against local autonomy, against independent identities. Many "white men" were very sincere about the rights of natives, as are many "white men" sincere about not bombing Syria

I think the above is likely wrong. Which Turkish, the Ottoman or Seljuk? Then why did Armenian not living in the Ottoman empire begin using the same term? I am also not certain if the term did not predate the Ottomans.
-
Good question to ask. As to the meaning of the term, it is Armenian in origin. Well, Avestani, which is an IE language, i.e. Armenian, from Armenian most likely. Remember that the only historically corroborated location of Zoroaster's (Avestani) beginnings were in Armenia, Lesser Armenia, Commagene, etc. The term "astan" literally means "seat." "Nist" is the Armenian equivalent/cognate.

Rule number 1: Possession is 9/10 of the law. That is the level morality of the geopolitical leadership of today, and they shall learn to eat their own scum rules like the scum they are. Rule number 2: There are no "occupied territories" by Armenians. There were illegally apportioned territory from the 20th century perspective that Armenians, by way of a legal referendum, wanted to control once again. They were rewarded instead by the Sumgait pogroms. Armenians not only liberated lands that were legally theirs even within the "statute of geopolitical limitations" of historical amnesia that only remembers 100 years or so of history (less, depending on the "interests" at hand), but also the lands were liberated due to the imminent danger of massacre of the Armenian populations. Rule number 3: Armenian soldiers guard Armenian territory that Armenian soldiers liberate. No idiocy about "international peace keeping forces" can ever be either 1) believable as a viable security option nor 2) demonstrated a single time in history. No one has yet been able to respond to my question of whether or not they have examples of UN "security" protecting any endangered population successfully.
-
There are a few names that should be on the target list for Armenians with regards to this issue of Sumgait and its aftermath: I recall 2: Antero Leitzinger http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antero_Leitzinger, "scum of the Earth" would be an understatement. Thomas Goltz, no need for further explanation.

I think it's great. Science and tech is Armenia's future. It might even buy some food.
-
This is good news! Is that going to be used for food and supplies soon? Sometimes I get my cousins on Skype, and they were telling me that the west part of Haleb was still blocked off last week. How are you and your family doing? Is there food in the markets? Is it safer now to be outside?

A disturbing African viewpoint on Arab Nationalism and Arab Expansionism http://yeyeolade.wordpress.com/2007/07/22/no-more-arab-domination-of-the-black-race/

Hey there! Is the siege still on?

It's a bit late in the game to repeatedly ask that question after so much arabization had taken place historically. The SAR was the brainchild of Christian Arab speakers, that Nasser hijacked and turned into something not so desirable, who wanted to get rid of colonialism, assert independent and modern statehood, and thwart islamism. I suppose, despite all documentation on this, one can assume that the overt control of commerce and industry in Egypt by mostly foreign, non-Arab (not "native born"), populations might have been the catalyst for Nasser's zealous approach. The easiest benchmark at the time for natives was the Arabic language, the local Arabic dialect, perhaps not necessarily with the intention of Arab fascism. After all, the Armenians were afforded linguistic freedoms that only so-called market forces eventually began encroaching upon and a bit of latent bureacratic pressure to have a standard lingua franca. If I remember correctly, it was only in the 1970s that Arabic was the language of instruction for the "hard subjects" such as science and math in Armenian schools in Syria and Egypt.
-
Yes. I did know that. The entire concept of Arab Nationalism is of Christian construct. if it were up to the "Islamists", which it appears to be so with the blessing of the Wahhab of Saud (which, we were being told "did not exist" by many Armenian "intellectuals"), we would have a Caliph back in Istanbul. The Islamist propaganda about "Muhammad's predictions of Turkic leadership of Dar al-Islam" is little known. Obviously, none of the leading factions of geopolitics today want Ba'athist thought to prevail.

Also, instead of relying on amateur fence-sitting pundits such as Migchels, I highly suggest you read actual economists who are and were in the position to judge whether or not the Fed or any other central bank is privately run. My primary sources on this issue are Milton Friedman, John Kenneth Galbraith, and William Greider, among many others. These three are the biggest hitters who all agreed that the Fed is a "public charter with privately held stock." That is a hybrid private/public institution with a monopolistic arrangement, roughly a sole subcontractor. Particularly the US has a staunchly libertarian core that contracts out most of its public works. The military, for example, is not allowed to produce armaments. Only the private sector is. Money is no different, except that it is, by the nature of the enforcement of a single currency, monopolistic. Migchels is merely reinventing the Scrip Wheel in any case, for the most part. There are scant usages of Scrip in some limited markets today, such as a large Orthodox Jewish community here in the US whose retailers still accept Scrip money for purchases of goods. (I know, because many of them are my clients). For the history of Scrip, check here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scrip By the way, Migchels was saying precisely this until you posted the above article. Pres. Kennedy is only remembered for his EO 11110, but all encyclical records of his United States Notes, which effectively - if not legally - rescinded the EO 11110, are not-so-surprisingly not recalled. It's the same form of blatant monopolist policy that enforces international trade of Petroleum with the US Dollar. Common sense and plain old facts say that the United States Note was interest free money that bypassed the sale of Treasury Notes as a means of creating currency, which must have enraged the Fed administrators at the time, who, with the EO 11110, were in the process of devaluing silver and breaking the 10 to 1 gold to silver price ratio. Apparently they succeeded. Kennedy's claim to fame was, ironically, to decouple Silver from the currency. Allegedly the confrontation of Kennedy and the Fed is a myth that is still being debunked in its 5th decade. It probably is a myth. Kennedy further liberated the Fed currency from any hard standards. One author calls it a "frustrating myth that just will no go away." Some go so far as to say, quite stupidly, that United States Notes did not ever exist: I'm just an amateur who likes to ask questions versus labeling and clumping people into groups.
-
And what is this negative connotation behind the word "conspiracists"? is the above author denying that there are and have been conspirators of various shapes and forms on this planet? Is the author above clumping any and all individuals who mention conspiracies into a "group major?" Is the author denying that human greed exists? is the author denying that human beings forms groups, guilds, cartels, to control various trades? Is the author above living on Mars?
-
Then why is Migchels so zealous about creating regional currencies if he believes that the "publically owned central banks are so transparent"? What is it with his Gelre currency? is he now saying that he is doing nothing more than creating Monopoly Scrip money? As far as a "single clan" owning the central bank network: Granted, that is hard concept to grasp, believe in, or prove. Yet, all major strategic industries have been demonstrably oligopolistic in nature. Is Migchels now countering his own theories and saying that Money is a commodity but not a commodity? What is he exactly saying? is he having to say these things because he now discovered, much as the WIR Bank folks had done in the 1930's that you ultimately depend on the blessing of the Central Banks even if you are issuing a regional currency that is non-governmental? I think Migchels is backpedaling.
