On a less lighter note, the Basque may or may not have Armenian roots, but they certainly have Armenian influence. Time will tell if there are common roots, and the Basque, interestingly enough, have no problem with the connection. Unlike the *()^$%)(*$&% of )*$&%()*&$% English who now even revise their primary sources, such as that of Bede The Monkeypedia Britannica footnote about Armenia says the following: (3) "De tractu Armoricano." -- Bede, "Ecclesiastical History" i. I. The word Armenia occurring a few lines above in Bede, it was perhaps inadvertently written by the Saxon compiler of the "Chronicle" instead of Armorica. How about that for a piece of (&*^$#%(*&^, eh?

As to the banal "Urartuan was cunieform therefore not Armenian", Gavoukjian responded to that as far back as 1975 in his initial article published in "Garun Monthly." Has anyone missed the Artashesian hellenistic period when Armenian was also written with Greek characters? Are we that desperate to maintain the Trained Monkey Status Quo in order to feel "special" that we are "not of this nationalist sort, but balanced huiman beings." How "balanced" is it to be imbalanced about one's identity to the point of avoiding facts that counters the so-called mainstream (that does not actually exist)? Gavoukjian rightly so says that much as the majority of the region, Urartuans used a diplomatic language for their public records, their inscriptons. In this case, it was the Hurrian language used by MIttanni, which still means nothing, which still does not discount it as a possible Arnenian dialect**. The linguistic affiliation of Hurrian is also up for grabs: No one knows what language family it belongs to. As I have repeatedly, repeatedly said and will continue to say, Hurrian is thought to be Uralic, Indo-European, Semitic (Amoritic), and Dravidian depending on who you ask, which clearly indicates that the "academic world" doesn't know didly squat. Gavoukjian, ironically, himself bought the Uralic (Finno-Ugric in his day as of yet) idea by going with Diakonov's Baku influenced ASSumptions. Yes, Diakonov has been indicted in RUssian television of having been on Baku's payroll, and Diakonov is one of the chief "Urartu is not Armenian" architects of the Soviet pseudo-science on the topic. **As to the possibility that EVEN the Urartuan cuneiform is possibly an Armenian dialect, A. Mordtmann is one strong proponent of this from the heyday, pre-genocide period of Armenology. Mordtmann is my favorite, because he was one of the rare scholars who as actually willing to study the ancient cultures in Armenia by actually referencing and taking into account the Armenian language! What a damned novel concept! Imagine, study Armenia and actually take into account Armenians. How "revolutionary" indeed.

Because we're dealing with an enemy that hits from the top, knows how to exploit weaknesses, one of which is the lowlife in your own group, the Pink Elephant, who will sell his soul and his mother to get the better deal. Andranik Ozanian is known to say that treason is a hereditary trait, and when he would catch one in an act of treason, he would decimate the entire clan and leave one lamed member of the family as a token reminder. The Andraniks are no longer in charge. The Pink Elephant has grown in size.

As for Keghart, Dr. Abrahamian is someone I respect. He was a schoolteacher for a while in Ethiopia, and I had a chance to get acquainted with him when he came over, had coffee. Nice fellow, but he upset me when they posted an "Open Letter to Charles Aznavour" about releasing the so-called political prisoners, Alexander Arzoumanian and Nikol Pashinian, two of the most unsavory characters in Armenian political history one can think of. Our relations froze after that. I lost much of the trust I had in the fellow.

First, Congratulations to a wonderful person, Katia, for getting acknowledgment. She deserves it very much! There is no doubt that the general public in the United States and Britain were very sympathetic to the Armenian plight and did much to provide relief and aid, but the "Turkish demands" portion certainly stinks of the same of Pink Elephant that wreaks havoc at every turn and page in Armenian history, and yet the Armenian refuses to see this Pink enemy. Ask yourselves that magical queston: If public opinion favored Armenians as well as a large chunk of Officialdom, why the hell, then, did "Turkish demands", the demands of a dead entity, suddenly take on "new life" and strength? No one asks these questions.

One of our best writers, Karvarents, who lived in Persia at the turn of the 20th century, fully demonstrated that Islam is merely a religion that leveraged greed and ambition to advance itself. I have no respect for it/

By the way, one of Ter Petrosyan's treaseonous government's first deeds was to gut and disassemble a factory that did make weapons parts. Go figure.

A while back some Armenians had hacked into a backdoor of a Turkish military intelligence server that had text files of the Armenian language curriculum. Armenian is apparently the second most important language for their intelligence services.

I have no idea what this is in reponse to, but bribery in America is only an offense if the amount is too small to satisfy the given official's relatively greater appetite. Here in the Land of Plenty Of Debt, bribery takes many creative forms. In the Land of the Fee and UberTaxes, bribery has to be large and hefty. It has to be enough for the official to weigh the risk of getting caught with the ability to deny wrongdoing and bribe another layer of law enforcement officials. We've had this discussion at length in that old quaint listserver we met on.

Why Ar? Because it means Armenia!
-
I don't know if this fellow is writing anymore, but this is a fallacious opinion. Yes, it does matter, but is currently only applicable to a select few, such as the Zionist Jews who milk the historicity of their claims. Simply because Armenian historical claims are dismissed by the so-called "International Community" (which in itself is a farcical rubric) does not make these claims invalid or pointless in some future era. The work to prove Armenian presence in Armenia must go on unabated. Yes, indeed, and the work has to be done in the meanwhile. Agreed 100%! The entire war was meant to destroy the healthy in mind and body male population that had integrity. The entire period between 1982, when the systematic agitations and looting in Artsakh began, up to 1989 was a trap to begin with, which in turn opened the door to a war that would decimate our best and brightest potential cadre of leaders.

This is absolutely riveting!

I see the Monkey Brigade had done a lot of ridiculing in this thread. The main target was the Ar syllable, name of the solar deity, and proposed derivations thereof. Most attempts at humor were punkish at best by what seems to be college age brats. Someone at some point also ignorantly dismissed the possibility that Ra is an inversion of Ar. That someone, I think it was more than one, is apparently unaware of some important facts: Ra did not make its ascendency, assuming it ever existed prior to, until the 5th dynasty. Surprisingly enough, the Wikifraudia article on Ra is decent and does treat well the history of this deity. Monkeypedia Brittannica says that Ra was always present in Egyptian myth, but doesn't offer proof. Try searching for proof in vain, if you have some time to waste from your precious years. It ain't there. Ra is a relatively new anunciation of the Sun, and was often used, for some odd reason (a somewhat common practice for Egyptians), in composites of various "levels" of importance with local and older Sun gods such as Amun-Ra, Atun-Ra during Akhenaten/Nefertitit's reign at Amarna, and so on. Speaking of Amarna and Akhenaten/Nefertiti pair, there was this enigmatic figure named Ay http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ay who supposedly was either a high level minister of some sort, or perhaps even a father-in-law to Tutankhamun or Kia, Tut's mother. There is speculation after speculation about this fellow, but the fellow name was Ay! Who knows? Eh? This is ancient history! So, we know that Ra didn't show up until relatively late in the game, seeing light only during the 5th dynasty, already being afforded a sanctuary/temple in Heliopolis/Lunnu. So where and why did he show up? Who the hell knows! it's ancient history! But, then there is this recurring theme of backwards languages used in mythological reenacments, rituals of living as the deity in native American cultures, and also there is this large number of backwards scripts in Etruscan tradition for sacred writings. Backwards writing, mirror scripts, are a long standing tradition for cryptic cults, cryptic personalities (recal Leonardo da Vinci) and so on. Therefore, is it POSSIBLE that Ra can be Ar? Yes. it is POSSIBLE. Is it provable? Not that I know of, but who cares? How many of the stupid ASSumptions (such as "Urartuan" is a relative of Chechen) in archeology, linguistics and historiography are provable and actually proven? hardly any, really! This is ancient history! We live, breathe, and eat ASSumptions when dealing in ancient history! So why should the Armenian be any different from, say, everyone else? BTW, Did they ever find that altar where Abraham was going to slit the throat and skin his son alive at? Or did they ever find that donkey-drawn carriage that aided in Abraham's escape from Egypt "with more silver and gold than he came with?" I tell you, Armenians are being taken for a ride (on a donkey-drawn carriage emptied of its silver and gold).

I don't think the money by the domestic monopolists is leaving Armenia, for the most part anyway., although it would be preferable if these idiots were smarter in how they exploited control of their wealth for the benefit and growth of Armenia, which in turn would increase their existing wealth. But, as things go, we have the Zangi Zrangi story repeating itself. http://impoqrik.am/jamanc/heqiat/146-zangi.html As to what we did to deserve this, I have some ideas, but most will not like them. Armenians, if left alone to their devices, are a direct threat to the Global Powers That Be. Think of the situation where the Rumanian kingdom was ready to give their oil concessions to the Mantashev Firm and reject the concession demands of Standard Oil (now Exxon/Mobile, etc.) and Rothschild Oil (now BP and Shell). Then consider who was sent after the Armenian oil magnates in Baku to take care of this problem (although they failed, until the entire Armenian oil control and engineering infrastructure was destroyed, the final blow in 1988/1989 Baku/Sumgait massacres). I refer to the James Bond template, Sidney Reilly, who was sent to Baku specifically to murder Armenian oil men. This is only a drop in the bucket. Think of the low interest loans given to Sweden in the 18th century by Armenians which in essence aided in the avoidance of a revolution in Sweden. One would think that if Sweden had resorted to borrowing, then something of a financial stranglehold by the traditional European controlling banking cartel was afoot against Sweden at the time. This is not even mentioning the amount of power they had in the Silk Road trade routes. It's all about money, trade, control of wealth, and it is an old game.

Do you remember the title of the video or the name of this person?

Onjig, Good man! You found the main misconception that our "Urartuans" have. Yes, indeed, the Behistun trilingual evidence is actualy in support of the fact that Urartu (a concoction and intentional mispronunciation of Ararat) is one and same with Armenia. It is the same phenomenon of fishing for different identities in Nairi (Assyrian sources denoting greater Armenia) and Hayassa (Hittite sources denoting Armenia). The pseudo-academia still pretends that Nairi is different from Hayassa. Simple algebra says that if Hittites did not also use Nairi as reference to Armenia and the Assyrians did not use Hayassa as reference to Armenia, there is something missing. It is more likely that these names refer to the same entity used by different ethnicities at different times from different perspectives! The same goes with Armenia/Urashtu. It is not Urartu, but Urashtu on the Behistun rock. Urashtu most probably means "land of fire" in IE, indo-iranian, and more probably Armenian. Armenians are said to have borrowed the term Ashtanak, աշտանակ, աշտ - fire, perhaps "starlight" as well according to some scholars - as the root, http://hy.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D4%B1%D5%B7%D5%BF%D5%A1%D5%B6%D5%A1%D5%AF The main problem with this "borrowing from Pahlavi" jamboree that began with Hubschmann/Ajarian, is that Pahlavi was a language that itself borrowed heavily from Avestani, which in turn is a language that is rooted in Armenia. NOTE: My copy of Hovik Nersesian's book on Zoroaster is floating somewhere in Yerevan. I lent it to a former Marxist/Leninist. The "book thief is no criminal" reflex took him over, I suppose. My mistake. I would appreciate it if someone could point me to an existing copy. Arpa's literacy argument has been argued against in the Basques and Armenian forum. http://hyeforum.com/index.php?showtopic=57752&p=314863

Why not try them as Australo-Aboriginals? Let's see what we get. Let's also try to see if Hurrians were so-called because there is this village in the vicinity of Darwin, Australia, called Hurrumurru. If there isn't such a village, let's invent one. After all, Bede said "Armenia" (which is vastly, vastly different from saying ARmenians, because there is this Celtic extinct presence 1000km away in Western Anatolia), and now they say "He really didn't mean Armenia. He simply misspelled the name of a village across the channel." Anything but "Hur", fire, from the language of a people that have always been there. Oh, che "amot e. Chi grnar ellal, yeghpayr." Even if the damn thing is pronounced խ, the Van dialect is there to readily Armenianize Խուռի Like I said, the Monkey Reflex is strong.

I don't know their language. All I know is that there are contradicting assumptions about the Hurrian identity. Some say they were Uralic, Finno-Ugric. Some say they were Dravdian migrants. Others say they were Semitic. Yet other say they were IE. That says to me that they don't know anything!

As a report of this paper's link from above just to reference it properly, http://koenraadelst.bharatvani.org/print/articles/aid/urheimat.pdf, after doing a brief search on the author, it seems that this fellow is not chastised for his views in the Indo-centrist community or the so-called mainstream that accepts the AIT. Yet, reading this hullabaloo created a sharp craving for Aspirin. Unsupported assumption upon assumption fills the pages, but the author gives Zeppelin floating opinion the air of scholarly spindling. No sir. It is especially Armenian nationalists who are attacked by the Trained Monkeys. As soon as you state something that is in the slightest Armenocentric, you are sure to have many who will attack with fangs and claws, sometimes with arsenic, sometimes with sulfuric acid in the digital face. Armenians are indeed a special case. "Someone" is out to get us and kill our nationalism.

Good man, George. Agree 100%

So this is clearly a story of worse of two devils. Foreign global monopolists or domestic monopolists? I choose the latter, if I must. Sorry.
