Dont know about Martina, but I have heard of system of a down played in cars on occasions, and the co-drivers are required to sing-along. ------------------------------------------------- Rallye Quiz Question: In the photo above, why are the tyres so thin on this Peugeot 206? Im gonna try and generate interest in this forum for this (IMO) best motorsport in the world. IMO the most skilled drivers in the world are here (not Formula 1) and its very entertaining to watch. Here is the update on the second round - Rallye of Sweden. quote:Reigning World Champion Marcus Gronholm has claimed his first win of the 2003 season, with victory in the Swedish Rally.Gronholm and co-driver Timo Rautiainen took the lead on Day one of the event and maintained their advantage until the end of the rally, finishing 50.8 seconds ahead of Subaru driver and former world champion Tommi Makinen. Richard Burns and Robert Reid finished third, giving Peugeot two cars in the top three. Peugeot has now moved to second in the manufacturers' championship, just two points behind Citroen -- which also did well, with all three cars in the top 10 finishers. Peugeot missed any chance of getting its third car into the top 10 when driver Harri Rovanpera was forced to retire on stage eight after a bizarre accident that also eliminated the privateer Peugeot of Juuso Pykalisto. The privateer was stopped on the stage after a roll but, the Peugeot team says Rovanpera received no warning and could not avoid crashing into the car. His win was Gronholm's third Swedish Rally victory. "I always have a very good feeling in the snow, and the car has been brilliant throughout the rally," Gronholm (pictured) said after the rally. "Today was all about trying to stay in front and not take any risks. Although Tommi (Makinen) was driving very quickly, I felt confident that we had a big enough gap today to keep him behind us. Luckily that was the case, but this rally is never easy under any circumstances." Team-mate Richard Burns' third outright was his best-ever Swedish Rally result. Burns said he felt he wouldn't have caught Makinen without taking big risks, so settled for a comfortable podium finish. The next scheduled round of the World Championship is the Rally of Turkey, February 26 to March 2. Results (top 10): 1. Marcus Gronholm -- Peugeot 206 WRC -- 3h03.28.1 2. Tommi Makinen -- Subaru Impreza WRC -- 3h04.18.9 3. Richard Burns -- Peugeot 206 WRC -- 3h04.46.0 4. Markko Martin -- Ford Focus WRC -- 3h05.13.9 5. Colin McRae -- Citroen Xsara WRC -- 3h05.43.9 6. Carolos Sainz -- Citroen Xsara WRC -- 3h06.52.3 10. Freddy Loix -- Hyundai Accent WRC -- 3h07.04.5 World Championship 2003 standing -- manufacturers 1. Citroen -- 24 2. Peugeot --22 3. Ford -- 15 4. quote:Accel - we are planning to test drive a WRX this weekend BTW. No Sti - too bad - just the standard. I've been trying to convince/sell the wife on the safety of the car. (There is supposed to be snow on the ground...!) Well, thats too bad (LOL - safety of the car), maybe you should give the Subaru dealer a visit earlier and explain your situation, I suspect a car salesman might do a better job of convicing your wife on this safety issue (thats assuming they would rather sell an Sti)

Wont someone buy me one http://drive.fairfax.com.au/content-new/images/2003/02/04/04sub1.jpg quote:Subaru's WRC2003 world rally car will be on display at the Brisbane International Motor Show, which opens on Friday. It will be the Australian debut for the car Subaru hopes will be a front-runner in this year's championship. The car is the result of a collaborative design process between the UK company Prodrive and the Subaru factory in Japan. Subaru says that the all-wheel-drive Impreza WRC2003 (pictured, above) features revisions to the engine, roll-cage, body panels and aerodynamics package. The body shell has been lightened and stiffened. Surface area on the raked front end has been reduced to lessen wind resistance and improve air collection into the engine. The Subaru World Rally Team this year features drivers Petter Solberg and former World Rally Champion Tommi Makinen. Makinen (39), won four consecutive world rally championships, from 1997- 2000. He won one race in 2002 and finished eighth in the championship. Round two of the 14 round WRC2003 season will be run in Sweden from the 6th-9th of Febuary. Round one was held last month in Monte Carlo, where Citroen drivers achieved a spectacular 1-2-3 finish. The race was won by Frenchman Sebastien Loeb. He shared the podium (pictured, below) with his team-mates, Scot Colin McCrae and Spaniard Carlos Sainz. McCrae won the WRC in 1995, Sainz in 1990 and 1992. It was a first up trifecta for the French car manufacturer, in its debut season as a fully fledged WRC team. The Brisbane International Motor Show is being held at the city's Convention and Exhibition Centre from 7-16 February. Subaru Rally Team Australia will also feature at the Subaru stand. Team drivers Possum Bourne, Cody Crocker and Dean Herridge will attend the show in the afternoon of Saturday 15th February. They will meet fans and promote the 2003 Australian Rally Championship -- due to start in March. Bourne is the reigning ARC drivers champion, having secured his record breaking seventh consecutive title last year.

It was a bit disconcerting/embarrassing when she kept pressing her foot down on the horn - other people who were comming out of the party were taking a bit of notice! I swore next time - passenger (or back) seat... LMAO! hahahaha, man! you were quite the stud in your younger years.

quote:(I think she has pretty much - though not fully - accepted the fact that this (Sti) IS THE CAR! LOL Lets hope so Azat, Subaru WRX drivers here are not at all seen as 'gay', on the contrary, most are mucho young males, such as myself .

quote:I don't need all the boy racer stuff - but I don't mind it per se - but would rrather be a bit more subtle/unobtrusive...so it goes. Have you considered maybe gettin the Subaru Liberty (Legacy in US i think) B4. The Sti version is also on the way, twin-turbo, very subtle, only the smallest rear wing and plenty of space for the kids. quote:Not sure about Turbo timer & what not. i imagine I will be very content to drive it stock Sounds like your not familiar with the function of a turbo timer. Basically when you turn the engine off, the timer keeps the engine runnin for set period of time, allowing the turbo to cool slowly. It has nothing to do with performance, but greatly prolongs the life of a turbo, and personally if I were in the market for a 2nd hand turbo vehicle, a turbo timer is a good sign that the car has been responsibly cared for....
