Three men sit, naked, in the sauna. Suddenly there is a beeping sound. One of them presses his forarm. The beeping stops. The others look at him. "It's my pager," he says. "Microchip implanted under the skin. The latest thing." Just then, a phone rings. The second bloke lifts his palm to ear, talks. When he finishes he explains: "That's my mobile phone. It's in my hand." The third man, a Luddite despondently bereft of the latest hi-tech enhancements, steps outside briefly. He returns with three sheets of toilet tissue extending from his bum. The others raise their eyebrows. "I'm just getting a fax," he explains. LMAO.

Seaphan, I really dont like your taste , Miss Poland is good, but the rest are second rate. I went through all the contestant photoes a few days ago and there were deffinetelly some better ones, from the top of my head, Miss Germany, and Miss Italy. And Miss Australia is half-Lebanese, half-Swedish LOL, explosive combination. Shawn, Miss Turkey is better than all the ones posted IMO (except Poland). The Miss Armo site is www.missarmenia.am quote:Go anywhere in Eastern Europe and just walk on the streets. You will soon develop P.E.S.(permanent erection syndrome)LMAO!

quote:If I were white though I would attempt some very unconventional moves right now - otherwise it doesn't look good.Thats why I love quick chess (15mins each), its a whole different game, strategy is short term, and big mistakes are very common, but you dont give up, coz the opponent might be the next to make one....exciting stuff

quote:I drove most of the way from Utah to CA looking at the laptop screen trying to read what the HECK was wrong with my engine Man, there always seems somthing wrong with your engine, are all American cars this unreliable. In Australia, the US built Jeep imports are one of the most unreliable (and worst built) cars around, despite their high price and luxury image.

Intereting, at first glance, Black (Harut) seems to be in a better position, EZ consider pressuring his left (your right), your knight, bishop and rook are allready well placed for this, push those pawns forward and bring over the other rook for support if needed.

quote:"Tandz" sounds good, but it also has a second meaning, which is not so polite LOL....I know another funny word that has an impolite second meaning: 'Zangak'. Does anyone else know what the second meaning is?

Thats right, Miss Turkey has become Miss World of 2002, and she is actually pretty good looking, perhaps Miss World judges take attractive facial features into consideration (unlike Miss Universe). Anyhow, you can check them out here (www.missworld.org), though the photoes are of poor quality. And here is a photo of the winner... http://www.missworld.org/Contestantsspic/S_43.jpg btw. I am dissapointed that Armenia wasnt represented, although Gibraltar with a population of only 40,000 was. And whatever happened to this years Miss Armenia contest? Is it going ahead? quote:PS. Please don't blame Marxism, Leninism or any other ism for our sins.It is cynicism and lack of patriotism. quote:you are so right, the blame is on those who stole the building materials, Everyone stole, if it wasnt building materials, then it was something else. The whole system was designed (unintentionally) so that the only way one could have a relativelly comfortable life was if he/she stole from the state, took bribes etc. I am not saying that only the system is to blame, but it certainly suited Armenians nicelly. And indeed we do need more REAL patriotism, not just talk....

Guys, whats with the obsession with digital cameras, I mean, I would understand if you were professional photographers....but you got me lost

quote:but "culturaly", I see MJ's point.Well, culturally I would say Greece (current member of EU) has more in common with Armenia than say Norway or Sweden. And sooner or later the EU will move into the Balkans proper (allready in Slovenia), and I would say that we have more in common with countries like Bulgaria, Macedonia, Albania etc. than they do with Northern European countries.

You can check out some of my games here . Though I have been playin pretty crap latelly. And this is quick chess so stupid mistakes are very common

The Soccer World Cup Thread (Page 1& 2)
Accelerated replied to MosJan's topic in Sports and Recreation
Watched last night the Euro Champions (Real Madrid) play the South American Champions (Olimpia). I must say it was the most entertaining match in a very long while (particularly 1st half). Real had all the starts out: Raul, Roberto Carlos, Zidane, Figo, Hierro, Ronaldo, Makalele and others. It was entertaining because the sides werent evenly matched, and Real had a lot of room with Olimpias 2nd rate defence (by Euro standards). They put up a good fight with some very good chances on both sides, but still lost 0:2. I recommend you guys see this match somehow, much of it really is exhibition stuff. quote: quote: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Originally posted by Loreley: I was brought up to believe that all Turks were bad. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Am I the only Armenian that wasn't brought up like this??? Well, I was in Armenia and only 7 when the NKR independence movement began proper in 1988. So although my parents are very rational on such matters, I was a little indoctrinated thanks to mass media and other people around me. As for the Turks, there are actually a lot of them in Australia (far more than Armenians anyway), particularly in Sydney. I have only met 2 Turks (one was from Cyprus and almost had Asiatic eyes), thats about it, they keep to themslves and only a very few attend universities, most being content with opening their corner kebab shop.....

quote:true friendship these days in the Western world is rare I do agree with you on this one, but this would not be true if your in Armenia. As much as we would like to think that Armenia is part of the 'Western World', its not .

quote:you can always make new friends yes, but few close ones. Its a similar situation to love, true friendship these days in the Western world is rare, and mainly consists of enjoying each others presence around the bar table, but which one of them would risk their skin for you, or go out of their way to help you out, very few........
