    Karina Sarkisyan

I watched Sweden's Talent 2008 on television this evening. A talented Armenian named Karina Sarkisyan was presented and played the piano. She gets the jury, (and including me) Tobbe Blom and Sofia Wistam to start crying and the audience to make standing ovations. The camera -men, the producers, the audience, everyone was crying, says Sofia Wistam. The strongest moment in the hole competition, everything else stopped, says Tobbe Blom. When she came to Sweden she started working like a nanny. At the family's house where she works as a nanny she caught sight of a piano and started to play for the first time in 20 years. - It was fantastic , I hadn't had the opportunity to play for such a long time. Everything she had played since she was a child , Mozart, Chopin , and her own compositions was still in her head. That she entered the competition was all thanks to the family. They saw me and heard me and suggested me to take part in the talent competition. Her children was killed in the ethnic cleansing of Armenians in Azerbajdzjan 1988. We lived as third-grade citizens, and later on my husband was killed too, says Karina, who made her way to Sweden and is seeking asylum. When I came to Sweden, I got the feeling of belonging , they weren't strangers but took me in with open arms. Now she hopes she can stay in Sweden. She got a negative deportation order which she is going to appeal against. I want to stay here, but only faith can decide, says Karina. When we heard what she had been through made her performance even stronger. She is seeking asylum. It would be fantastic if a thing like this could help her get it, says Tobbe Blom. http://gfx.aftonbladet.se/multimedia/dynamic/00628/karina_628447a.jpg http://www.aftonbladet.se/nyheter/article2390738.ab http://www.expressen.se/noje/tvsajten/1.11...k-oss-att-grata

  5. What I intended to write was whats wrong with the guy showing his opinion and emotions about this subject?
  6. Why do you see a problem with someone beeing proud of his heritage? We should all be happy that there are still some people out their that are proud to call themselves armenians, righfully so, instead of riduculing them!
  7. Sorry to draw attention away from the from a siruntxas point of view but I have another very important issue to bring up here, at least for me. Hearing the armenian language in public today should be a happy experience, living in a country where there are such a few of us. But latetly my stomach turns every time I hear a hayastantsi open his or her mouth. Especially those who recently came from Armenia. Using words like xi, karas, and ara infront of every sentence ( instead of incho, karoghes, yev ajlen). Da yeghele mer lezon hima! Just shows how much culture these people have. It doesn't seem as they have any from the sound of it. Amen mi azg oni ir endanor zarkatsats yev kaghakakirtt lezon vorov dasavandomen yev grakanotion sdeghtsom.
