The negotiation process is frozen. And the civilized world is not able by any means to understand what the authorities of Armenia want after all. As long as the negotiation process was ongoing, these authorities were agreeing upon anything – pulling out Armenian armed forces from the liberated (and not ‘OCCUPIED’ – A.K.) territories, leaving Gharabagh under the sovereignty of Azerbaijan, supplying a corridor across Meghri, etc. Now it comes out that Gharabagh has to be an independent state, and that we do not agree on a lower status. What happened during the past couple of months? What are the expectations from the negotiation process? There are several possible alternatives: Alternative 1: The authorities of Armenia, in order to appear as ‘the good guy’ in the eyes of the external world, had in the beginning accepted the presented proposals, then at the end refused, by arguing the predominant public opinion in Armenia which is unfavorable to such a solution. Hence it becomes clear that as a result to such policies, the whole world may very hastily position itself against Armenia, and no state will defend Armenia by opposing internationally adopted and accepted norms. While a possible re-start of war under international sanctions, means an unavoidable defeat. Alternative 2: The authorities of Armenia have in reality given their consent to all the presented proposals (including the corridor over Meghri), only that they had expected from the West some investments in several billion dollars. But suddenly Russia appeared and inhibited the authorities of RA from accepting such a document, for 2 main considerations: a. Firstly, Meghri is a zone of ultimate strategic importance to Russia as well, and Russian frontiers-guards are deployed there. b. Secondly, if the West will buy Meghri by paying several billion dollars, then it has to bargain about the price with Russia and not Armenia. Russia does not tolerate, as in the Armenian saying, “to render a favor to the bridegroom by kissing the cheeks of the bride” (harsi tsherov pesin lavoutyoun anel). Alternative 3: In reality, Armenia and Azerbaijan (represented by the persons of ex-Communist Party Secretary of Azerbaijani SSR and his ex-subordinate - Gharabagh Silk Factory Communist organization secretary – A.K.) have long ago ‘understood each other’ and have agreed upon the following: Armenia carries out its negotiation ‘tactics’ from its ‘victorious’ positions, while Azerbaijan initiates a new war, the result of which will be the OCCUPATION of the territories in priory determined and agreed. In case of realization of this ‘variante’, Aliyev’s son can peacefully inherit his father’s, Heydar Aliyev’s throne, while Robert Kocharyan continues to rule over Armenia as a ‘patriotic’ “VOYIN” (combatant – A.K.), who was ‘strongly wishing’ a ‘From Sea To Sea Armenia’, but was as always defeated at the end. This is in fact the only alternative, as a result of which it becomes possible for them to sell the LIBERATED territories (including Gharabagh), at the same time pretending the roles of ‘national heroes’ (because they could have sold the territories earlier, but they didn’t). Alternative 4: Simply, the authorities of Armenia have fallen in the middle of a silly situation. Lacking any perspective, they are being guided by the impulsion of the moment. This means that they are doing what is adequate at the given moment. And this in its turn means that at a certain ‘given moment’ they will simply be expelled from the ruling levers and nobody would protest against it. Therefore, there exist 4 explanations of all this. It is quite easy to notice that in all four cases there isn’t a special difference whether the entity OCCUPYING the post of the President of Armenia is a breathing human organismor an empty pack of “Dirol” chewing gums. Because the absolute absence of thinking capability is obvious and common in all of the 4 cases. “TOP TRANSPARENT” FORGERIES OF A “TOP SECRET” TV PROGRAM Written by Hrayr AVETISSYAN “CHORRORD ISHKHANOUTYOUN” daily Online, No. 190, Friday April 27, 2001, Yerevan - Armenia On April 23, 2001, the ‘public’ ArmTV (“October 27” participant Tiko Naghdalyan’s ‘national’ TV of unilateral dashnak propaganda – A.K.) broadcast an episode of the “Top Secret” serial of the Russian NTV station. In fact this program was not broadcast in Russia, according to pro-regime information, “because of the obstacles put forth by the Azerbaijanis”. By the way, the sponsor of this program on the (so-called – A.K.) ‘national’ TV was “MIKA ARMENIA” (company owned by Kocharyan-Serge Sarkissyan duet-sponsored Gharabagh economic clan representative Misha Baghdassarov – A.K.). Let us explain our uninformed readers how such programs are realized. Russian TV companies pursue and solve propaganda-related problems inside Russia by means of such programs. (It is not incidental that an important part of the program was dedicated to the relationships Gorbatchov-Yeltsin-Putin). However it is sad, that Russia’s internal matters are being ‘solved’ on our behalf. The financing of the program on NTV was provided by Levon Hayrapetyan (a person known in Armenia as the founder of a wooden parquet-flooring factory in the Vank village of NKR’s Martakert region, by consuming and destroying the nearby ancient forest). The sponsors and their political ‘roof’ have pursued their propaganda aims on their turn. Therefore the aim of broadcasting this program in Armenia was very obvious. No problem that the program was not cast in Russia; since the sum was already spent, ArmTV could do the job. Now, about the taste of the program and its orderers: 1. Formally, the program was dedicated to the Gharabagh Defense Army. However only a few words about this army and its formation process were said in reality. It was presented, that in the first years of the Gharabagh Movement, the ARF was creating brigades of volunteers, on the basis of which the army of Gharabagh was created. However anyone who is more or less related to the Gharabagh Movement, knows that the self-defense brigades in Gharabagh were being created in Gharabagh exactly at the time, when the ARF patrons were making appeals from their Diaspora metropoles ‘advising’ the Armenian people to be ‘cautious’ and ‘sober’. And when war had long started, the dashnaks suddenly appeared in Gharabagh and '‘contained'’ the already formed brigades into its partisan ranks by a few jackets and bags of flour and sugar. 2. Where was the supply of arms and ammunition of the Gharabagh army from? There wasn’t a single word in the program saying that the major part of the army arsenal was seized from the enemy. Instead, the Minister of Defense of RA Serge Sarkissyan (KGB minister on the day of “October 27” coup d’état – A.K.) was narrating how “they took over” the military equipment of the 366th motorized division of the Soviet Red Army deployed in Stepanakert. 3. In what condition is the Gharabagh army today? The authors of the program were happily demonstrating how the soldiers of the ‘most organized army of the region” were… lancing axes and breaking lemonade bottles on their heads (in the 21st century). As if the objective of the army is to back off the attacks of Vikings. In all cases, it well demonstrated the taste of the orderers of the program. 4. The program did not say a word about the siege and brutal bombardment from all 4 sides of Stepanakert. Instead, information was shown how the Armenians destroyed Khodjalou and Aghdam down to ashes. Only one name was mentioned; that of (late – A.K.) General Zinevitch. So, come and guess if Armenians too had participated in the battles! 5. Only 2 years ago, could anyone even think that a 30-minutes long film about the Gharabagh army would be shot WITHOUT MENTIONING THE NAME OF THE NATIONAL HERO, HERO OF ARTSAKH VAZGEN SARKISSYAN? The Sparapet appeared only once in the cadre, because he was sitting next to Serge Sarkissyan (the camera swiftly moved and demonstrated the face of the latter zoomed-in). The name of General-Lieutenant Samvel Babayan was mentioned only once, saying that he is a ‘criminal’ and is now imprisoned. Instead, every 4-5 minutes the program was interrupted by an interview with Serge Sarkissyan. He too ‘forgot’ to mention the names of VAZGEN SARKISSYAN and SAMVEL BABAYAN… 6. During the whole course of the victorious Gharabagh War, the President of RA, consequently the Supreme and General Commander of the Armenian Armed Forces was Levon Ter-Petrossyan. Naturally the 1st President’s name was not mentioned even for once. But the comical farce was that the ‘Top Secret Show’ did not mention Robert Kocharyan’s (Invincible ‘Voin’-combatant’s – A.K.) name either, although he was the president of NKR and the Supreme and General Commander of the Gharabagh Defense Army. In one word, the target of the “Top Secret” was really ‘top transparent’ and ‘top visible’: to explain the society that the Armenian people owe Serge Sarkissyan for the victory in the Gharabagh War, (Sponsor of the sentence – “Mika Armenia” . ON 28, JUNE IN YEREVAN THE SESSION OF ARMENIAN-GEORGIAN INTERGOVERNMENTAL COMMITTEE HAS STARTED TO WORK 21.06.2001 /PanARMENIAN.Net/. In Yerevan 28-29, June the regular Armenian-Georgian intergovernmental committee will take place. According to Caspian news agency information, at the session it is planned to discuss the problems of two country cooperation in transport and energy fields and also the dates, when Georgia will return its debt to Armenia, the improvement of social-economic conditions of the Javakhka, the region populated by Armenians. As a result of the session it will be signed the corresponding agreement fixing the main aspects of the further cooperation.

At the exhibition the products of 22 Armenian enterprises were presented. THE GRINDING OF RUSSIAN NATURAL DIAMONDS WILL BE HELD IN 43 ENTERPRISES OF ARMENIA 21.06.2001 /PanARMENIAN.Net/. Grinding of Russian natural diamonds will be held in 43 enterprises of Armenia. GERMAN "GREENS" SUGGEST TO RECOGNIZE THE NORTH CYPRUS REPUBLIC 21.06.2001 /PanARMENIAN.Net/. Berlin regional department of the "Greens" has come out with an initiative to discuss in Bundestag the issue of recognition of the self-declared Republic of North Cyprus. By establishing official relations with the puppet regime of Rauf Denktash, the "Greens" hope to contribute to the process of peaceful settlement of the Greek-Turkish conflict on Cyprus. "Hyuriet" newspaper, which is being published in Ankara, informs that the initiative of the Party is the outcome of the efforts of Land Parliament deputy - Turk by origin - Ozjan Mutlu, who is and active leader of the Party of "Greens".

ACCORDING TO THE INFORMATION OF THE MAGAZINE "KOMMERSANT-VLAST", THE MOSCOW AUTHORITIES FAVOURE THE EX-BISHOP TIRAN KYUREGHYAN 21.06.2001 /PanARMENIAN.Net/. The Russian magazine "Kommersant-vlast" introduced in its last issue interesting but vulgar version of the conflict between Garegin first, Catholicos of All Armenians and Tiran Kyureghyan, the ex-leader of the Armenian Apostolic Church Novonakhichevan diocese. In magazine expert's opinion, "the real innerchurchal conflict underlying cause is the problem in the decision on who has to manage the Fund of the building process of Surb-Khach cathedral in Moscow". The head of the fund is Tiran Kyureghyan. The fund carries out the collection of the means and immediate control on the cathedral building process. For the building process, according to the expert information, has already been collected $30 million. The magazine editing has information that ex-bishop Tiran developed a new charter of New-Nakhichevan and Russian diocese, according to which the supervision of the diocese will not be named by the Catholicos but will be chosen. "If the charter is passed, than the Catholicos will loose the influence in of the biggest church diocese and, accordingly, the control of enormous means, which it has", the article author infers. The "Kommersant" expert thinks, "the loyal position of the Moscow powers to Tiran Kyureghyan is explained by their long-lasting economic relations".

THE GROUP OF DEPUTIES OF THE NA WILL GO TO IRAK WITH HUMANITARIAN HELP 22.06.2001 /PanARMENIAN.Net/. "During the recent years the number of Georgians living in Armenia has noticeably dwindled, which is the result of the existing situation," – holds Chairman of the Georgian community in Armenia academician Tina Asatiani. "Azerbaijanian delegation in Armenia was given a reception on high level," – stated Minister of Home Affairs of Azerbaijan Ramil Usubov, who is in Yerevan at present, where the regular meeting of the Council of the Ministers of Internal Affairs of CIS countries has finished work today. THE HEAD OF THE AZERBAIJAN PARLIAMENT SUGGESTS ARMENIAN-AZERBAIJANI INTERGOVERNMENTAL GROUP FORMING 22.06.2001 /PanARMENIAN.Net/. Murtuz Aleskerov, the Azerbaijan Milli Mejlis speaker, suggests Armenian-Azerbaijani intergovernmental group forming. Aleskerov suggested that June 20, at the meeting with Armenian National Assembly delegation, that had participated in Parliament Assembly of the Black Sea economic collaboration countries, in Baku. ACCORDING TO MIKHAIL GORBACHEV ARMENIA FOLLOWS THE PROCESS OF FORMATION OF THE RUSSIA-BELARUS UNION WITH GREAT INTEREST 22.06.2001 /PanARMENIAN.Net/. After his the meeting with President of Belorussia first President of the USSR Mikhail Gorbachev stated that Armenia follows the process of formation of the Russia-Belarus Union with great interest. He said that Armenians wanted to see the future developments – whether Russia would engulf Belarus or it was an equal community. Only after this, according to Gorbachev's words, Yerevan will decide whether it is on the same way with the Union or not. Informing about this, "Mediamax" agency reminds that President Robert Kocharian has repeatedly stated that the leadership of Armenia is not interested in the idea of joining the country to the Russia-Belarus Union.

SESSION OF THE UNION OF INDUSTRIAL PRODUCERS AND ENTREPRENEURS OF NAGORNO Artsax REPUBLIC HAS TAKEN PLACE 22.06.2001 /PanARMENIAN.Net/. Session of the Union of Industrial Producers and Entrepreneurs of Nagorno Artsax Republic has taken place in Stepanakert. Speaker of the National Assembly of NKR Oleg Yesayan, Prime Minister Anushavan Danielian, members of the Parliament and the Government have participated in it. The session passed the Charter of the Union, elected the new Chairman and also formed the Presidium of 5 members and the Council of the organization consisting of 19 members. A decision was made to send the delegation of the organization to the forthcoming session of the Union of Industrial Producers and Entrepreneurs of Armenia, which will take place on June 23 in Yerevan. According to the information given by "Arka" agency, the Union of Industrial Producers and Enrepreneurs of NKR was formed in 1993, but it practically drifted. The present session was assembled to renew the organization and was rated by Prime Minister of NKR A.Danielian as constituent. The Prime Minister noted that the Government was interested in formation of the Union and promised support in it.

The day of the trial was assigned. The court was full of people, journalists and interested personalities. The reference of the policemen towards me was changing little by little. They were following the process day by day and eventually their attitude with respect to me became positive. The policemen realized that I had committed the murder for the sake of my nation, they no longer tied my hands, even when accompanying me to and from prison. This could be considered something unique in judicial processes. They felt that I was not a dangerous person for the society, that I pursued my path to revive the Armenian Cause. The policemen understood my case, but the prosecutor did not. The policemen took their initiative to liberate my hands, while the prosecutor waved with his hand one of the issues of “ASBAREZ”, which had written that GOURGEN YANIKYAN HAD NOT COMMITTED THE KILLINGS FOR THE SAKE OF THE NATION, BUT FOR PERSONAL ENDS. For one hour and a half, the state prosecutor was waving the issue of “ASBAREZ” above his head, explaining to the court and the judges with a loud voice that “ASBAREZ” is considered to be the avant-garde newspaper of the DASHNAK party. He was saying that if the Dashnak party paper is writing that Yanikyan has not committed the murders for the sake of the Armenian nation, then why should we believe the claims of Yanikyan. Whatever the investigators were unable to do during the long investigations, “ASBAREZ” succeeded to do “with the strike of a pen””. Here I want to stop and tell my impression about Yanikyan while narrating this episode. This man of respectable age, who then was 83 years old, when he reached the moment to narrate the speech of “ASBAREZ” newspaper, he began to weep. He was narrating and crying. The tears were flowing along his face like 2 clear and swift water-streams. I was astonished while looking at the face of Yanikyan, as he was continuing his troubled story about “ASBAREZ”. He was not troubled and angry for being in prison, BUT FOR THE FACT THAT HIS PEOPLE, FOR THE SAKE OF WHO HE HAD BECOME A MURDERER, WAS ACCUSING HIM. I shall never forget the cry of Yanikyan in my life. When I remember, I begin to suffer. A~kh, there are cries and other cries. One can weep and cry when he is beaten up, or his close person has passed away, BUT YANIKYAN’S WEEPING WAS DIFFERENT. He was crying because of the INGRATITUDE of his compatriots to his respect. His cry was not an ordinary cry. I have never seen a man crying that way. His cry was different. The tears were coming from deep-deep Armenian springs, tumbling down his 2 cheeks, forming brooklets and falling down. I shall not forget these tears till the last day of my life… (The segment is brought from the 2nd tome of “YEREVAN MINIATURES”, “Yerevanyan Manratiparner” of LEVON SOGHOMONYAN, published in Los Angeles, 1991). “AIM AND TRUTH”, (Npatak Yev Djeshmartoutyoun) by Gourgen Yanikyan, written in “California’s Men’s Colony” or the Obispo St. Louis prison, USA, pp. 187-188, published by the Armenian Popular Movement in Yerevan-Armenia, 1999, “Tigran Medz” printing house, tirage=2000). And finally about an important fact. We said that Gourgen Yanikyan was not affiliated to any party. He was acting as an individual. When Yanikian refused the demand of the political parties to speak on their behalf, the partisan papers began a campaign to discredit him, by writing “he has lost his mind”, “he is ambitious”, “he is very late” etc. Yanikyan was supporting all these insults, except one. “But,” wrote Yanikyan from the prison; “I want to respond to one thing that has been propagated about me. “Where were they till now? Why did they wait so long? Yes, I was late. I was waiting for you, Armenian Revolutionary Federation (Ho-Hi-Da), so that you would justify yourself as a political and revolutionary organization. It was not I, but it was the Dashnak Bureau that has made the oath that you have things to do for your people. Where were your thousands of ordinary partisans? THE ARMENIAN NATION WAS NOT PAYING TO ME, IN ORDER TO SURVIVE AND BE UNDER THE BURDEN OF DEFENDING ITS RIGHTS, TO DEMAND AND TO BE SACRIFICED. THE NATION WAS PAYING TO YOU. When I realized that you not only delayed, but also forgot, OR WERE FORCED TO FORGET, I decided to act so that our rights were not forgotten. So that I force you to wake up. After this answer, I am sure that every Armenian will be persuaded about who was late in reality, Yanikyan or you, the ARF?” Yes, Gourgen Yanikyan acted as an individual. But his work was continued with the force of an erupting volcano by the Armenian Secret Army for the Liberation of Armenia, that decisively undertook at the threshold of the 21-st century, the unquenchable will to defend the just cause of western-Armenians. The Dashnak leadership ordered all the formed defense committees not to defend Yanikyan’s case any more. The money collected for that goal was returned to the senders. But the utmost doggish treason was that the dashnak party leadership ordered them to print declarations in the papers condemning Yanikyan and the motives of his act, the reason why they were drawing back from his defense. They even forced my Chief lawyer to resign and I was left without money and defense advocates. Even Turkey spent 2 million dollars, paying an indefinite sum of money to the committee members. Whatever happened in the party, FBI was informed the next day, the latest.
