Hovsep, You resemble the self-appointed leaders on the libertarian scale. In a survey slanted to produce more negatives, these so-called leaders would score more on the authoritarian side. As for the economic scale, it would depend if you were in a socialist nation (or former socialist nation) or in the West.
-
Here's where I stand: Economic: Left/Right: -4.75 Authoritarian/Libertarian: -4.62 I will have to go back and check how this compares with the comrades in Hye Forum.
-
That places me almost in the category of Domino on the Economic Left/Right and with only Winston and Domino more libertarian on the Authoritarian/Libertarian scale. I thought that I would score more right on the economic scale than I did, but was surprised that, as a bisexual who believes in a woman's right to choose, that two others here scored more libertarian than I did.

The majority of the first tiers of Armenians in America were Turka-Hyes. The few Russa-Hyes who could be found in America were mainly from the upper classes. Our parents and grandparents were a hard-working group who NEVER got into trouble with the law. Can you say the same about your kind of Armenian, Gamavor, Mr. Turka-Hye hater?

Some of the Young Turks were Donmeh or "hidden Jews" from Salonika. There is no doubt that they furthered the interests of their co-religionists toward establishment of a Jewish state in Palestine. I do not deny that there was involvement of a number of Turkish Jews in the Genocide. What I question is the value of embarrasing those Jews who are our friends at present with this information. Given what befell the Jews during WWII, such information would be very embarassing. Perhaps this is why certain Jews side with the Turkish denials, lest the deeds of their fellow religionists come to light. Balance this with the fact that it was a Hungarian Jew who embarassed Egoyan into making his latest movie and the numerous Holocaust scholars of Jewish background who signed a letter in the New York Times declaring the Genocide as historical truth.

Whoot, Have written two more chapters. I m not a full-time writer and have other responsibilities.

Numerous missionaries, diplomatic officials and even Moslem diplomatic officials documented the wholesale massacres of the Armenians. Waht kind of sick joke is this Turkish doctor playing? My problem does not lie with any myth about the Genocide but about myths of our origins, ancient history and the realities of early Armenian Christianity.

Gamavor, LOL. Excellent comeback. A thousand bravos to you.

Eduard, Just a short 10 minute ride on the freeway from your home in Van Nuys is the extensive collection of the Armenian Studies program at UCLA, housed in the library there. Please do not treat me like an elementary school child and grill me on what I know and do not know about Armenian history. You have studied the standard texts. I have gone beyond these to expose our about our leaders. Every culture has it's myths which should be scrutinized.

Where are the grandchildren of the Ittihadist leaders today? Are they Jews or are they Moslems?
-
Are you going to hang on to the past or look to the future? My grandmother told me that the Jews in her village were at the bottom of the social ladder and were not allowed to enter the baths. If so, there was probably intense rivalry between Armenians and Jews in Bolise and elsewhere. Many former adversaries have been able to reach a rapproachement. Blanket hatred of Jews will not serve our causes well today. Forgive and move on.

If I didn't fear that you would do me harm, I would meet with you, show you my background and you would clearly see that I am an Armenian. At that point, you and your kind would see me as a aberration which must be eliminated at all cost. Only a small percentage of American-born Armenians of my generation are more Armenian than I. I not only speak the language but have read hundreds of books on the subject, but much of the specifics are now forgotten.

Associated Press repeats the Turkish version of the "events of 1915" in the latest article about the movie "Ararat." OK, let us for the sake of argument estblish the premise that the Young Turks were putting down an Armenian resurrection. Yet why did they kill infant children. And why did they confiscate all private Armenian wealth from the survivors, and trandfer it to the leading families of the Ittihadists?
-
Eduard you are acting like a typical Armenian, ONE-UPMANSHIP! Nothing I stated was untrue, just not specific. I was around you traditional Armenians all my life. I refuse to play your silly little game of one-upmanship.
-
You insult me Eduard. Of course,I know who the Mamikonians were, sitting at the side of many Armenian kings, and Vartan saved Armenia's Christianity from the Persians.
-
I know Movses VERY well. I have gone beyond these traditional Armenian texts to read the histories of other culutres vis-a-vis the Armenians. Did you know that the Bagratunis were Jews, eh Eduard?
-
Eduard, My remarks about Vartan Mamigonian's lineage comes right from an article written by eminent Armenian historian Robert Bedrosian. So please stop foaming at the mouth.
-
Eduard, You are throwing about mistruths. It was never stated to close down the Armenian Churches for the Armenian Renaissance to begin, but for the leaders of the church to become more progressive and more tolerant. You are foaming at the mouth and therefore do not remember things very clearly.

Domino, There are recently unearthed texts from the first century which not only refer extensively to Jesus and those around him but clearly state that Mary Magdalene was his mate. There is also a later first version of a compiled Bible found in a sealed room at St. Catherine's Monstery in the Sinai which veers somewhat form traditional Christian beliefs. As for the geneology of Jesus' future family, it is compiled in a lengthy book by a meticulous geneologist who is the true heir to the British throne and the heir to the Scottish throne. You do realize that the present royals of England are German usurpers whose real name is not Windsor?

The Armenian Church is one of 5 pre-Calcedonian Churches. Gregorian Church, Armenian Orthodox Church, and Armenian Apostolic Church are different names for the same religous sect. Less than 10% of Armenians worldwide belong to the Armenian Catholic rite or to the Armenian Evangelcal Church (Protestant). There are also a small number of Armenians who belong to the Greek Orthodox Church (called Hay-Horoms).

Eduard, Vartan Mankonian was DESCENDED partially from one of two Chinese noblemen who were banished to Armenia and intermarried with the Armenian women. They came there highly educated and with a lot of wealth some 200 years before Vartan Mamigonian was born. As for the Jews in Anatolia, the Armenians did not kill them, they assimilated them. When the Byzantines began to persecute the Jews in the 4th century many escaped their fate by adhering to a Christian faith that at that time was not infiltrated with pagan beliefs namely the Gregorian Church.

Associated Press (AP)-Los Angeles Village Idiot found to have high IQ A 50 year old Armenian-American, former member of the Armenia community of this city, has been found to have scored between 140 and 180 on IQ tests administered over a period of years. The psychology professionals who studied this individual initially were concerned with the veracity of his identity as he appeared to be approximately 30 years of age. Researchers concluded that what constitutes a "village idiot" in the milieu of the Armenian community is anyone who does not adhere to the beliefs of the self-appointed leaders of said community. Researchers found that church leaders in collaboration with the wealthy in the community establish community standards. anyone not adhering to these standards is immediately labeled as "village idiot."

Arpa, No one is so blind as he who does not see! You have a phobia of Jews. That is why you refuse to contemplate any thoughts about recent genetic discoveries which clearly show a partial Hebrew background for the Armenains. This stuff came right out of the ROA in conjuction with the Brits, but was quickly buried. The fact that Jewish blood may run in your veins is someting that makes you sick. This is a product of either your Soviet or Arab upbringing. All you can do is call me an "eshek." Typical Armenian response, trying to shame me into following the traditional beliefs. Unforunately for you, years of self learning and contemplation have cured me of the "Armenian disease." I am now a citizen of the world who is open to contemplate any theory without any blinders on. It took thirty years of unlearning all the crap I learned from my family and in Armenian school.

Arpa, The Genocide is the glue which holds us together as Armenians. If the Turkish establishment ever capitulates on this issue the Armenians, sadly I must say, will probably rip each other to shreds. In a way, the Turks have helped us remain a nation by focusing our anger upon them rather than upon the deep anger we feel for each other.
