Gamavor, You consider Dadrian an idiot Armenian-American professor?Have you read his work? You must be smoking the same "hashish" down there in Texas that the "POUS" is.
-
Artaxias, What you are is becoming increasingly clear. There is NO room among Armenians for your kind. As one whose both grandfather's were killed by German-inspired Turkish leaders and one whose aunts and uncles were genocided, I find you very shameful. Many in my nephew's family died in the Jewish holocaust. You are a disgrace to our people and fodder for the Turks to work the Jewish organizations against us. I suspect that you secretly in the employ of Ankara? Perhaps you are really a Turk working for the MIT an disguising yourself as an Armenian. Tezcan just loves people like you. You make his job so much easier.

Sasun beat me to the punch. I was composing my comments when his excellent post was registered.

You are dismissing the high cultures of the East and Middle East which preceeded European culture. The East is from whence even the seeds of Chrisitianity sprung. Have you heard of the references to "Saint Issa"? Jesus was in the East during his "lost years" learning they ways of the ancients of the East. These high cultures flourished while Europeans were still living like savages.

There are among us those whose politics overwhelms reason. Fiscal conservatives are different than social conservatives. I am all for preserving Armenian culture. As assimilated as I am, I can speak Armenian and am familiar with our culture. Since I have learned much of our heritage through books, I do not hold the misconception that many Armenians have, passed to them by parents and grandparents. Luckily my parents and grandparents were educated. My grandmother was friends with Dolores Zohrab Liebmann, since their fathers were close friends in Bolise who both had the same fate under Turkish hands.

Sorry, picture I refered to is on the right not the left.

Artaxias, If you look in the Armenian Aryan picture website you have refered to, there is a picture of three beautiful Armenian women on the left a few rows down (picture 127816-2440 (1) jpg). The woman at the left looks like a Kermanatzi, the woman in the middle would not strand out at all in Mexico City and the woman at the left looks very Asian. I have perused the other photos and concluded that genetically we are a mixed bag, primarily Caucasoid but with significant non-Caucasoid strains. Drop the Aryan brotherhood BULLSHIT. In LA we are considered people of color. No one considers us white.

Gamavor, I must have overlooked your posting. That I have ever claimed to be an Orthodox Jew or an atheist is a figment of your imagination. I have stated that I was raised as a Protestant from a family whose members had previously been Armenian Catholic and Loosavorchagan. I have stated that I now am enamored with the Eastern religious thought. ATHEIST? Do you consider Zen Buddhism atheist?

I agree with you that these differences are regional. The Semitic Armenians come mainly from two cities, Van and Diarbekir (wrongly known as Dicranakert as the site of the true Dicranakert is further the East and has not been unearthed). Even In the late 19th century the rural Armenians near Van would refer to the Armenians of Van as Jews. The Asiatic Armenians come mainly from Giligia, whose nobles mixed blood with the Mongols and from other areas where Mongol soldiers impregnated the indigenous Armenian women. However, the question of what happened to the historic Jews of the ROA region is still being researched. There are also Armenians who appear to be very Celtic from regions further west in Anatolia.

Get Serious. There was even a Mongol Armenian Queen or two. Ten of thousands of Christian Jews assimilated into the Armenians in the fourth century and Jewish converts to Loosavorchagan again in the twelfth century. Do you know how many Armenians are part-Assori? At least 50% of the Armenian friends of my youth were part Assori.

Now that this great man has passed into the next life, perhaps the truth about his paternal grandfather, Sam "Peck" will surface. Perhaps his wife, Veronique Passani, who urged him to learn of the Armenians, his ancestors, and to learn the Armenian language in his middle age, will reveal this in a book about his life.

Dr. Dickran Kouymjian of Fresno State will be giving a lecture at 2 PM Saturdayat LA County Museum of Art.

I believe that he left behind a wife and a child.
-
I visited his grave. It was a moving experience. It is in a serene and beautiful cemetery high on a hill.

I will be contacting my US Senators today. I urge all of you to do the same. Since I am active in the ACLU and other liberal organizations, my voice will have more weight than the conservative Armenian businessmen here.

Latest is that have arrested a Turkish female teacher, Hulya Akpinar, at a forum for merely asking a Turkish professor what Turkish authorities will do if the Armenian Question campaign is not successful in putting the issue to rest. Six other teachers were also detained. Yes, they are in quicksand. The more they squirm the deeper they will sink. The facts are clearly on our side.

Arpa, For your information, I am a "germag" Hye. I DO NOT have a big Armenian nose, nor am I a dark, hairy midget. So take your assumptions and stick them where the sun doesn't shine. Yes, I have been to Tel Aviv and it is a modern city. Hopefully Yerevan is becoming more like Tel Aviv as the Western influences overcome the Soviet ones. I found it very interesting to see that many of the Soviet era buildings had collapsed during the 1988 eathquake, while the old Czarist era buildings were still standing.

I suggest that you all red the folowing: http://rbedrosian.com/china.htm.
-
Arpa, I do not claim these alone. I have good company with Movses Khorenatsi and other scholars who attest to the Jewish roots of the Bagratunis and the Chinese noble roots of the Mamikonians. A recent book on Armenian queens includes Armenian Queens who were the daughters of Mongolian nobility. So you can continue with your ignorance (or more likely bigotry), if you wish but don't poison the minds of others here.

There is a new Turkish campaign to escalate the indoctrination of Turkish youth, including those of Armenian origin, toward the denial of Genocide claims. This could prove costly for them, as by elevating the issue to discussion, the Turkish educational system will always produce some independent thinkers who will go on to Western universities to do their own independent research. Then we will have more Turkish scholars in the West affirming the Genocide. They can only create a Saddam or Soviet type group-think society at home, not abroad. Eventually the Turkish state will collapse under the weight of it's own deceptions.
-
Asdghig, We need more Armenians like you. For too long we have sat, cried alone and isolated ourselves from the world. Armenians need to build coalitions, especially with other who have experienced the same fate under Turkish rule.
-
There should be no dichotomy between the three. The central command treated each of the groups with a different plan, but it was all part of ONE central goal--to eliminate Christians from the Turkish state. The policies which Turkey follows today are an attempt to finish the job by less bloody means.
-
Of course we part-breed Assyrians know of the Assyrian Genocide. If you look at the big picture, it clearly shows that what transpired in Ottoman Turkey was a jihad. It blows the Turkish argument right out of the water. Unfortunately, just like some Jews who want a monopoly on Genocide, so some Armenians don't want to acknowledge that Greeks and Assyrians were also genocided by the Evil Three-Enver, Jemal and Talaat.

A Kennedy and Johnson White House House press aidee: , who, went on to being a reporter in the New York Times Washington Bureau. Retired in 1991, a recent cancer victim. One of the tens-of-thousands of "gorsevatz" Armenians in America.
