tnx for the reply guys. btw it's not video related (.avi) i've researched the problem. It does however seem to be assodiated with programs that use divx codec or diivex files. I've run a few updates and it's less frequent, though not gone complitely. anyways. about the browsers, i like ie7 but i like opera more. i got 1 gig of memory and 2ghz cpu on my laptop but compared to opera it takes ie forever to load. imo opera is the best. all they need to do is make it more activex friendly. You'll never want to switch back to ie once you get used to opera (unless you want to use logmein.com).

someone plz help. This is becoming really annoying. I'm running xp pro sp 2 with updates done. But my exploerer.exe starts consuming all of my cpu out of the blue. I have no idea why this is. I got firewall, av, spybot etc etc. This must be a problem with explorer. It just keeps hogging my cpu even when i'm not doing anything. I restart it with the taskmanager, but 5 minutes later the same problem. anyone else experiences such problems?
