This is patetnly untrue. (sorry Angel)...but statistically and otherwise there are more deaths and injuries by accidents (and deliberate use against people that one knows) ...then such things being of any real use in self defense. So it is not (necessarily) safer to have a gun. Oh and speaking of totalitarian solutions for things...just how does one force cultural homogenity? And is this necessarily a good thing anyway? I for one think this country is a much better place with Thai amd Afghan restaraunts, oriental, Middle Eastern and hispanic groceries, jazz, etc etc...and certainly wouldnt want to go back to life as it was in the 50s or such (if even that was homogeniety of culture...which it wasn't quite....just in the popular media renditions etc...but yeah...the food and music and much else was sure boring)

Well (Azat?) - i was tempted to start another thread here - but as Sip thrilled us with his canned chilli and cheese post i guess I can assume its alright to say here that some f my favorite gormet (?) or otherwise meals I've ever had...well have been made by me, myself..LOl...like tonight...and i post this specifically here as Sip is obviously a meat and potatos kind of guy (as am I...though with perhaps a bit broader outlook...)...and i like to think that meat and potatos can indeed be gormet and can indeed be served in sufficient quanity to not have to rely on midnight snacks from the cubord to satiate ones ultimate hunger (after drinking a bit and whatever else eh?)..so anyway I wanted to post about this wonderful (I think) dinner I made tonight..and the fact that indeed - quality can be had from the seemingly simplest of ingredients etc...and yes - to get to the point i fixed a very nice dinner - from scratch - tonight - in Iron chef quickness! - consisting of a big piece of Top Round (Black Angus though - please note!) and some potatos (again - yukon gold - best in the West - as it were)...always necessary to start with high qulity ingredients! - and of course all my secret flavoring and such..well OK basically Molases, a lemon or several, liquid smoke!, black pepper...and a whole bunch finely sliced shallots (though have had sucesss with those little pearl onions...red, yellow or white)...and anyway I made my) "gormet" London Broil (from my own concieved recipe...see previous...as well as with some Boyjian Garlic oil - wonderful stuff that!..added), with baked, lightly salted, butered and peppered Yukon Golds!...and believe me you will never buy a standard Idaho again...and a very nice (avant garde?) salad consisting of mixed greens, sliced yellow peppers, and Chinese cabbage (bok choy)..in a home made (very aged) balsamic v, olive oil, pommegrant juice and feta cheese dressing...et etc (all prepared in about an hour!) ...with some nice S Rhone (red) wine...followed by a desert of Irish Coffee Pralines (called Lacase...and truly delicious) from Spain...with Italian sparkling [natural] lemon mineral water - mixed with - French Framboise (18% alch BTW)...and yeah....that prety much summed it up....and oh BTW already prepared tommorows dinner while I was at it - I'm calling it Thai Bok Pow!...you figure it out (yeah lots of Bok Choy..must have been on sale,...yeah..)..with my own honemade Kung Pow (chilli & garlic) marrinade for the meat (more Top round..yeah...on sale....lol)...but this time will be stir fried in my wok with all sorts of mixed (fresh) veggies (along with penuts & fresh pinneapple!) ...already cut up and ready to go...that i will make in a red curry (and possibly? still deciding...) cocunut milk sauce...to mix with the Kung Pow spiced beef...actually much beter then it might sounds (really I do have the touch..and yeah - s0mehow I do manage to con and conjole my kids into eating it...lol)..anyway..yeah...who needs to go out eh? And my wine selection is certainly better then 99.9% of the restaruiants on the planet (still deciding on tommorws..a dry minerally white perhaps? or another spicy red!) ....lol....OK well there I did mange to post about all of this after all...wonderd how I'd mange it...but yeah...satisfaction from a good effort and a nice satisfying meal..so yeah why not and who rally does need to go out eh?...yum yum...anyway...

Sounds good Azat..lets keep that in mind...makes me think of a very nice (pretty)Georgian lady (unknown at first) I flirted with a bit this weekend...beuatiful eyes..and we talked food, and lands (homelands..and home...), and accents, and friends.. as she was behind the counter and I unintenitonaly (but greatfully) worked my way into quite an unaticipated discount...so for all you guys..when you hear a beautifuyl accent and look into some very entrnacing (in this case green!) eyes...by all means pass the compliments and ask the questions and you might be suprised where it leads ..again in this case to a meeting with an Armenian who overheard me claiming to be such and a nice follow on discussion ensued..oh and yes..the discount...and the beautiful smile..and those eyes....and the people (all of us) who all walked away happy and content and I imagian with a story or two to tell...

always...my dear always...its do damn good to be bad...thats something that often takes a lifetime to understand...adn funny that...because what comes more natural...when we are young (I'm talking toddler like, as well as pre and post)...and there are those who spout all sorts of shit talki gof the natural order of things...i'm sur eyou can concieve of just how far off the mark they indeed are....

Extra..believe me - this concern weighed heavy on my mind for many years..ultimatly I felt that it was my duty to bring children into this world...to give soem hope..thinking that perhaps I might have something of value to pass on (genetically and otherwise - through teaching and by example)...and also - we tend to sometimes/often focus on the bad..but there is much good in the world as well..very much so...and life itself...is that not a blessing in itself...through conception might we be playing a very important part in something much greater then we can ever understand? (please remind those children to brush their teeth daily now....)

Super post Anileve! And Kudos to all the (few) gals who have the gumption to stick up for themselves a bit. If it weren't for all your "radical" feminists none of the rest of you would be enjoying (even) the priviledges that you have...and if you don't stand up for yourselves you certainly can't expect (most) men to at all care really...shame that - but its well demonstrated here...

Of course we have free will...and it is entirly free of any imposition form any outside divine entity. I find this whole concept of free will and sin to be highly circular. As the Christian god encompases both the good and evil - by both definition and decree - what real dilema (besides self preservation...again the fear argument...if God be true...)is it to act in a manner to be "saved" when it is only a means of coercion by an impetous alien entitiy?
-
Well Boghos I stand corrected (didn't really mean to question your radical youth - LOL...or at all compare it with mine...) - and your father sounds like a fine man. I apologize for any negative insinuations. Regardless I believe that my basic points are valid...that certain people from certain political peruasions certainly are without a clue and don't give a damn regardless. So as always people sometimes have to be forced (I don't think that this is necessary authoritarian - its just reality). And yes i do believe I am pretty aware - and more then just on an academic level...but I have never claimed to know any/all the answers....but I am certainly entitled to my ideas and opinions and I would be careful trying to peg me as I do not at all feel I fall strictly within any standard libera,l agenda or otherwise. And if I sound arrogant - well I'm not - though I'm sorry - not intentional - but I can see that some may think such...and i do admit then when i see certain folks who present themselves one way - but have a hidden (ugly) agenda I will come out guns blazing - again sorry if I come accross overly combative...and again I did not mean to disparage you...and admit I was a bit hot..and still am incredulous that you are supporting this guy...but Ok - I can accept it perhaps in a narrow sense..and we certainly don't have to agree - thoguh I think his agenda will become more clear to you if you read more of his posts.. And yes I certainly espouse the benefits/desirebleness of the "good life" - or high life or wha have you - and I see nothing wrong with that - when have I ever declared myself a socialist or what not...heh I'm net even a Christian remember? But that doesn't mean that I don't have sympathy for those less fortunate and am not concerned with social and other problems of the world. And indeed I spent a fair part of my day yesterday arranging for one of my older autos to be (fixed up and) passed to a poor single mother who was in need...I am also involved in giving to various food banks and support other programs for needy families...etc etc (and am involved in environmental restoration efforts, education, and monitoring (and related) efforts as well...including doing some hands on work (monitoring stream quality, picking up trash that sort of thing...). And speaking of work...LOL - to imply that I don't work or haven't - well that is a laugh. In fact I have worked continuously - without interuption since I was 14-15 years old. I initially had a lawn and garden business, used to babysit and do odd jobs then I worked at various restaruants (washing dishes!) for 6-8 years (and continued to do so throughout going to school (and even after) - and I started at Jonhs Hopkins University at the age of 14...graduated by age 18-19 or so..and have been working professionally since....which is why at 42 I've nearly 25 years in and am even contemplating retirement (by 50...I certainly feel that I've earned it)...So yes I've workd a bit..sometimes in a professional capacity during the weekdays while I still worked restaruants nights and weekends...so I'm no coddled rich kid - not hardly...as I also paid for my own education (minus the first year which my folks covered)...and without grants, loans, scholarships or what not - cash on the table in fact - literally. And yes I live pretty well...thanks not only to my salary - but my (feminsit) wife's - certainly a benefit eh? Were not rich - by standards of the world for the wealthy - not hardly - but I think we do quite well - each well into 6 figures - so yes - the good life..pretty much...I should think so...and why not eh?
