This goes against my rules too... Why would she be hugging her exes? Isn't there an unwritten rule prohibiding physical contact with an ex.......especially in front of the current partner? I always made it a point to let other* guys know that my husband did not like other men hugging me by extending my hand for a handshake. *Other for example can mean....co-workers, random aquaintances and any guy who generally should not have been hugging or touching me.

Unfortunately, in some countries like Iran (no idea about Greece) women have to agree to certain terms and sign such paperwork before marriage. It may have clauses regarding child custody, alimony, cheating, stealing. and even set expectation of intercourse per week. I just hope his wife did not agree to or sign such docs. If she did...the gov't will strictly enforce it. They do not look kindley towards women in backward countries. Like you, I have a problem believing that she would give up her child in the case of divorce. What Armenian woman you know would make such a choice. Motherhood is as sacred to us as our heritage.

" One more down..." ? How childish and ignorant you are. Who do you think you are bringing down? Do you realize your choices and actions will hurt your child? Are you out to prove something? At the expense of whom? As a young mother going through a divorce I would like to give you one piece of advice: do not use your child as a weapon against your ex. Don't use him as a pawn.... in the end no one will come out as the winner...least of all your son. Your son has Armenian blood in him. No matter what you do, one day he may very likely be proud of his other half and make it a part of his identity. What if one day your actions backfire and he chooses to see himself as an Armenian and disowns his Greek heritage? Have you soo badly been burned that you are planning to use your child in your plot for revenge? How truly pitiful.................

"A woman's heart is a deep ocean of secrets." ------ Titanic A lot of relationship experts agree also. Some things should not be told. But you shouldn't base a relationship on lies either. In my opinion nobody is ever a 100% honest. Draw the big picture for them, but don't outline and include every single leave of grass. Lol. So corny.....

My great-grandmother from my mom's side is turning 80 this month. She speaks Armenian, Turkish, Russian, Italian, and Greek fluently, and understands German. In the past 18 years of living in our lovely capitol in CA (amongst white people) she has learned enough English and Spanish to understand the 18 year old Hispanic girlfriend of her youngest grandson cursing her out in both languages because she walked in on them kissing in his bedroom. Lol. We jus love her humor at this age, and her mastery of these languages makes me feel very unintelligent.

Happy Birthday to all who have already had their birthdays this year. Happy Birthday to everyone celebrating today. I love birthdays (still young----lol) it's the one day a year that I give myself a free pass to do anything that comes to mind. But, I am a very mellow person so nothing much happens. Lol. Enough about me. Have a great day and enjoy.

So this is really off topic but I just had to let you know that I love your dancing avatar. Now if you could only set it up so the backround music plays the Laser Breakdancing Beat from the Ocean's Twelve movie soundtack, your avatar would be the coolest by far. Lol.

Let's look at it from a different angle: the guy is the one cheating or has cheated in the past, yet he is the one always expecting the wife to cheat and being overly jealouse of every single innocent glance, spoken word. It's just like the saying a thief is always expecting to be robbed, since he is always entertaining such thoughts himself. I have heard in the past men telling their wives/ girlfriends that the reason they are so controlling or overly jealouse is because they care for them so much ( "If I didn't love you so much I wouldn't care if you walked around naked or went anywhere you wanted to"). A little xand is healthy and is naturally present in most relationships, but it shouldn't become a roomate which takes up as much room as LOVE. Finally, I always have wondered why some men keep such a "short leash" on a woman they suspect may cheat. Why not give them space and some freedom? After all, if she is going to cheat then she will and you can part ways, but if she isn't the type and nothing happens then you will be able to put your thoughts to rest and give her the respect she deserves. Just my opinion.

I think the problem is that your wife is not on the list at all. Maybe your story of "things to do today" should include her in it too, no?

Vava jan, you don't like my quote?

Thank you all for the warm environment and kind welcomes. I really don't think Yervant would do such a thing. I think someone is trying to tarnish his good reputation.

He is indeed very cute. Does he have a name? The ice is on its way along with a bucket of Coronas and Heinekens. Surely, Vartanig deserves better than Sam Adams, no?

Dianjan, you are right in making your choice. If being equal to a man was the most important thing to you then you made the only choice you could. Men and women are too different to be equal. And in reality, there can be no equals. One has to be a tiny bit more "equal" so that chaos can be avoided. Someone always has to give in a little or compromise. And most of the time, if you let them feel like a man then they will let you have it your way. They just don't like to be broken. I have always been respected in my family also, but I was also taught to be a lady.

Years ago I was very much like you. Then I fell in love with an "old-fashioned" guy and had to either change my ways a bit for love or give him up. So I decided to try and do everything that you mentioned you wouldn't do. I can honestly say I am glad that I gave it a real chance. It doesn't matter that it didn't work out. I have no regrets. Real love doesn't come around very often, so you have to compromise and open your heart. Obviously, adultery and abuse should not be accepted. I am not advocating cave-men like characteristics. But some of my friends avoid guys 'cause they are "too Armenian". How can somenone find this to be a bad thing? Again, I am glad that you are happy in your choice , but I am sure some great Armenian guy could have made you happy.
