    Genocide In Me

I think she's coming to Austin in two weeks to show her work. I'm going to make the drive up to see her.
  2. Care to explain Gams? I didn't know either of them had that reputation.
  3. An Armenian from France who repatriated founded the Georgian Rugby program. He tried to start it in Armenia, but there wasn't enough support. So he went to Georgia, who now has the strongest team among the former Soviet Union.
  4. Thats right. And its good to be big but you must have the quickness to match it.
  5. God save the queen! Because I'm going after her...
  6. I agree with you Movses. Armenians have the right build for the sport; medium-sized and stocky. ...And large-headed.
  7. I think there's a super Walmart near where I live. I can't say it is for sure because I'm not sure, but it looks like it meets the criteria to be a super anything; it's a regular Walmart along with a full-fledged grocery store, optometrist, and includes a credit union/bank and a Macdonalds. Would corporate America be corporate America without there being a Mcdonald's in a Walmart? I guess it is true about what they say-- everything's bigger in Texas. But I doubt this is the only Walmart of its kind around
  8. Aren't they opening in Britain too?
  9. Lets see how long it takes before this ends up in the British Museum.

    Hayasa Pictures

Check out Hayasa Pictures. Its a team that makes some very funny Armenian flash toons. They just added the final toon of the "Liar" trilogy. Some of their toons, such as the "Liar" series, are based on Armenian folk tales. Maybe we can make a donation as Hyeforum...? I know there are much more noble causes around, but you gotta love these toons Hayasa Pictures Homepage

    Daft Punk

I was just as shocked as you are, especially since it's such a tiny venue. But she was there! There are the pictures and the autographs on the walls of the Russian Bear to prove it.

    Daft Punk

In-Grid is great! She doesn't have a very large fan base in America though. Gams did you know that she performed at the Russian Bear last year? We should've gone-- only $75/ table i believe

  17. They don't call you Gamavor for nothin'.
  18. I had never heard of that. You really do learn something new everyday. I've spent hours upon hours reading about Armenian prehistory, focusing mainly on the peoples that are our progenitors, and I've never even heard of the Chalybs/ Khalibs.
  19. Human quadrupeds discovered in Turkey Tue Mar 7, 7:56 AM ET The discovery of a Turkish family that walks on all fours could aid research into the evolution of humans. Researchers believe the five brothers and sisters, who can walk naturally only on all fours, may provide new information on how humans evolved from four-legged hominids to walk upright. Nicholas Humphrey, evolutionary psychologist at the London School of Economics, told The Times the discovery opened "an extraordinary window on our past". "I do not think they were designed to be quadrupeds by their genes, but their unique genetic make-up allowed them to be," he said. "It has produced an extraordinary window on our past. It is physically possible, which noone would have guessed from the [modern] human skeleton." The siblings, the subject of a new BBC documentary to be aired on March 17, suffer from a genetic abnormality that may prevent them from walking upright. Instead, they use their palms like heels with their fingers sticking up from the ground. The BBC said the documentary would contribute to fierce scientific debate and raised profound questions about what it is to be human. Humphrey, who has contributed to the documentary, believes the style of walking may be a throwback to a form of behaviour abandoned by humans more than three million years ago. Two sisters and one son have only ever walked on two hands and two feet, while another daughter and son occasionally walk on two feet. All five are mentally retarded and have problems with language as a result of a form of underdevelopment of the brain known as cerebellar ataxia. However Humphrey told the Times their behaviour may be partly the result of their parents tolerating the behaviour in childhood. They are aged between 18 and 34 and live in southern Turkey, athough the makers of the documentary have not disclosed their exact location. "They walk like animals and that's very disturbing at first. But we were also very moved by this family's tremendous warmth and humanity," Jemima Harrison of Passionate Productions told the Times. www.yahoo.com

Vana Litch and Toushpa are the best ones... does anyone else get this connection?
  23. What? It hadn't already been passed? I'm surprosed because of Armenia and Bulgaria's close economic ties, not to forget their mutual dislike of the Turks, in a social sense. I believe they commemorate the April 24th as the Genocide day and ring the church bells, don't they?
  24. I'm sorry, I just saw how old this thread is. heh heh
