Guys!!!!!!! now this idea is bugging me!! who will actually be in Armenia this summer???? I have this crazy feeling that we all should meet somewhere in Yerevan

Let's assume you're about 16 years old.... Can you picture yourself a perfect Armenian neighbourhood where you would live... What's your part in it? I bet every Armenian from diaspora had this feeling, some kind of a desire to imagine a small Armenian world with a typical Armenian neighbourhood.... All those feelings rise in me everytime I watch something like 'Mer Bake" (if you know what I mean) I can see your puzzled faces and than you go like "she's a psycho!" but still.....

thank you guys for the Ruben history. But what surprises me is that the pronounciaton and the stressing of the name RUBEN is exactly the same in Spanish and Armenian.It's obvious that RAHIM sounds kinda different

As far as I know Basqese is mainly related to the Caucasian Languge family toghether with Georgian, Abkhazian,Chechen, Avarian,etc.They all belong to different gruops and Basqese is really an isolated one It doesn't have anything in common with Armenian. Does anyone know why the name Ruben appears only in Spanish and Amenian?

Things like that didn't happen much to me cos I look quite Armenian and most Hyer are sure that I understand them. But things like that happen to people that know. Like, nobody expects my Mom to speak Armenian cos she doesn't look like one and she had lots of funny situations.Actually it's all about the appearance in this case. A have a friend, she's Armenian but she's a redhead with grey eyes. Once she was coming back from the University.Suddenly she saw a black car with 2 Arm. guys in it.They were staring at her and discussing her in a very unproper way. Of course they were sure that she's Russian and couldn't understand them.Finally one of them said:"I would eat that candy with great pleasure!" She just turned red.than she came up to him(she had a bottle of coke in her hand)and yelled in Armenian "i'll make you allergic for candies!" and she poured that coke right on him,tured around and went home.Well he followed her all the way and asked to forgive him.

Don't worry Taguhi jan! That is not true. Armenians look very various wether they are Hayastanci or not.I have seen a lot of Armenians who were blonder(lol) than the Swedish but they looked more Armenian (hope you know what I mean)that the Armenians that are as dark as Arabs ....It doesn't matter what are your colors.It's the appeance as a whole. One thing...I have 5 Armenian girlfriends. (3 of them are "bnik Hayastanci").And only one of them has Black hair and eyes! 2 of them have very light brown hair and hazel/greenish eyes. 1 is a redhead with grey eyes and the last one is a perfect BLOND with blue eyes .....and guess what, the "light" ones look more Armenian than I do..lol Even though I have brown hair and black eyes

I go for OLD! Armenian music.. That is really the best ever! that is REAL Armenian music!! In our days most of the people call that "Middle Eastern melting pot" traditional Armenian music???! That is not really Armenian it is 90% borrowed. the worst thing is when Armenian "traditional" singers start screaming like Muslim mullahs(AMAN AMAN AMAN. etc.) BTW real Hay music sounds more like Celtic. But I have to agree Jivan and his duduk are just......mmmmmmmm....
