Armenian Genocide recognition: Necessary but not sufficient 12.02.2014 By Harut Sassounian Publisher, The California Courier http://www.armradio.am/en/2014/02/12/armenian-genocide-recognition-necessary-but-not-sufficient/ With the approaching Centennial of the Armenian Genocide in 2015, Turkish leaders are coming under increasing pressure from the international community to face their country’s sordid past and acknowledge the Genocide. Significantly, public statements regarding the Armenian Genocide were made in the last few days by heads of three European states: France, Germany, and the Czech Republic. During his last month’s visit to Turkey, French President Francois Hollande, without using the genocide term, called on Turkish leaders to confront their history: “Memory work is always painful… but must be done. What we need is to carry out reconciliation through research and recognition of what has happened…. By recognizing the historical events you will be elevated not only in your own eyes, but also in the eyes of the world.” Pres. Hollande also held a private meeting with Rakel Dink, the widow of martyred Turkish-Armenian journalist Hrant Dink. Similar wise counsel was offered last week by German Chancellor Angela Merkel to visiting Turkish Prime Minister Recep Erdogan: “Turkey must come to terms with its history.” Ironically, Erdogan was the one who brought up this issue by complaining that Germany was planning to allocate funds for the commemoration of the Armenian Genocide Centennial. The President of the Czech Republic, Milos Zeman, went even further than the French and German leaders by actually using the term Armenian Genocide during Pres. Serzh Sargsyan’s visit to Prague two weeks ago: “Next year marks the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. In 1915, 1.5 million Armenians were killed.” While international pressure on the Turkish government is expected to become progressively more intense with the approach of the Genocide Centennial, Armenians should be wary not to be misled by such well-meaning, but at times, self-serving statements. If such pressures would prompt a Turkish leader to admit the Ottoman government’s guilt in committing massacres or even genocide, that would be insufficient to satisfy the just demands of the Armenian people. In fact the raising of expectations for Turkish recognition could be counter-productive because if and when Turkey does acknowledge it, everyone including Armenians may wrongly assume that their long-anticipated objective has been realized! Several decades ago, when the world was still unaware of the basic facts of the Armenian Genocide, its recognition by the international community and the Turkish government was imperative. However, at this stage, when over two dozen countries, many international organizations, and the International Association of Genocide Scholars have acknowledged the Armenian Genocide, mere recognition is no longer the ultimate goal. Rather than recognition, Armenians and all people of goodwill now seek justice for the genocide committed by Ottoman Turkish leaders. Just as Germany paid compensation to Holocaust survivors, the government of Turkey, as successor to the Ottoman Empire, has to pay billions of dollars in restitution, and return the stolen Armenian properties and occupied lands. To strive for restitutive justice, Armenians should use every possible means — political pressure, economic boycotts, public protests, and lawsuits — to convince Turkey’s leaders that they would be better off to negotiate with representatives of the Armenian government and Diaspora, seeking a just resolution for this long-lasting injustice. As there are considerable disparities between the political, economic and military capabilities of the two sides, Armenians may not be able to obtain all their demands overnight, but should insist that Turkish officials offer them as much restitution as possible in a phased manner towards eventual full justice. The just settlement of the Armenian Genocide issue would have many benefits for Turkey which would be hailed by the international community as a progressive and civilized country. Its leaders may even be considered for the Nobel Peace Prize. Recognition followed by restitution would also facilitate Turkey’s entry into the European Union. Otherwise, the continued refusal to come to terms with the Armenian Genocide would prolong the Turkish people’s embarrassing predicament of being constantly reminded of the crimes committed by their forefathers and continuously humiliated before the entire world as genocide denalists. Should Turkish leaders have the courage to resolve their Armenian conundrum, the Armenian people would finally begin obtaining long-awaited compensation for their losses, enjoy an economically and geopolitically more viable and secure homeland, with the expectation that a repentant neighbor would be more inclined toward peaceful coexistence.

I just re-read the book "Animal Farm by George Orwell". The first time, I read it as a children's book when a child and did not know where Russia was, the place where that farm was located in that fairy tale. I did not know that Russia had so beautiful farms until I came upon those photos by Elena Shumilova.

The photos are by a Russian lady of a Russian farm in winter but it could have been from Armenian rural farm scenes in winter. At least that dog looks to me to be an Armenian Gampr breed dog. Real-life Iron Man armor to be ready by June Published time: February 12, 2014 http://rt.com/usa/real-life-iron-man-armor-746/ In an attempt by fact to imitate fiction, the US military’s “Iron Man” armor will take an important step towards reality in June, when multiple prototypes will be revealed and tested. According to a report by Defense Tech, Navy Admiral William McRaven said three prototypes of the T.A.L.O.S – Tactical Assault Light Operator Suit – are currently being put together in the hopes that they’ll be ready for testing this summer. If everything goes according to schedule, McRaven said the T.A.L.O.S could become operational by 2018. “That suit, if done correctly, will yield a revolutionary improvement in survivability and capability for special operators,” McRaven said Tuesday at a military conference in Washington, DC. Although the prototypes scheduled for June will be unpowered, the military’s wish list of TALOS features is ambitious to say the least. As RT reported last year, the suit is being designed primarily with defense in mind and will likely include liquid armor, a synthetic substance being developed at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. This material has the capability to shift from a liquid state to a solid within milliseconds, making the suit’s wearer essentially impervious to gunfire. Should an operator suffer an injury anyway, the suit will be capable of monitoring the individual’s health vitals and other information using a built-in system that rests against the skin and provides its own supply of heat, air, and oxygen. There are additional plans to incorporate a “wound stasis” program that could stop bleeding by spraying some kind of medical foam onto an injury. In addition to boasting new technology that would enhance the operator’s awareness on the battlefield, TALOS could also be equipped with offensive capabilities, such as the “full-body ballistic projections” noted by the military last year. According to Defense Tech, these Iron Man suits are currently being developed by a wide range of organizations: about 56 different corporations, 16 government agencies, 13 universities, and 10 national laboratories. If successful, McRaven believes TALOS could potentially give the United States a “huge comparative advantage over our enemies and give our warriors the protection they need.” This isn’t the only futuristic suit being developed by defense companies, though. Lockheed Martin has also been hard at work on an exoskeleton dubbed HULC (Human Universal Load Carrier), which grants increased mobility and the ability to transfer up to 200 pounds of weight off the user’s body.

Karabakh liberation movement: how it happened Karine Ter-Sahakian / PanARMENIAN.Net Throughout 26 years, none of the people of Karabakh ever allowed the thought of returning under Azeri jurisdiction. http://panarmenian.net/eng/details/175800/ February 12, 2014 February 12, 1988 signaled the start of the Nagorno Karabakh national liberation movement, with Hadrut becoming a stage for a protest rally, the first among many to follow. Participants of the rally, organized by the future chair of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic (NKR) Supreme Council Artur Mkrtchyan, members of underground committee Krunk Igor Muradyan, Grigory Hayrapetyan, among others, demanded Karabakh’s reunification with Armenia. PanARMENIAN.Net - Earlier, in August 1987, Karabakh Armenians sent a petition for reunification with Armenia complete with tens of thousands of signatures to Moscow. On February 20, 1988 the Karabakh Council of People's Deputies, with the votes 110 to 17, passed a resolution requesting Azerbaijan for secession and Armenia for annexation. The action was in full accordance with the USSR Constitution, specifically the article on the right of secession. The decision brought out tens of thousands of demonstrators, both in Stepanakert and in Yerevan, yet eventually Moscow decided to reject Karabakh's demands for reunification with Armenia. Every act of democratic expression of the people’s will was followed by economic blockades, demographic expansion and violation of the rights of Armenian population. Mass murders and pogroms in Azerbaijani cities of Sumgait, Baku, Kirovabad ensued, to be later spread across the country. Hundreds were left dead and injured, with 450 thousand of Armenians abandoning their homes. On December 10, 1991 an independence referendum was held in Nagorno Karabakh to be approved by 99.89% of voters. The NKR Supreme Council (the parliament) that was formed on December 28, 1991 adopted a Declaration of Independence confirming the results of the referendum and succession of legal documents implementing the right of the people of Nagorno Karabakh on self-determination of its political status. The newly-formed government of Karabakh stated its work in the circumstances of absolute blockade and the ensuing war, unleashed by Azerbaijan. The war which lasted from the fall of 1991 to the spring of 1994, continued with varied success on Armenian side. There were periods when almost 60% of the NKR territory became occupied by Azeris, with the capital city of Stepanakert and other settlements permanently subjected to mass air raids and shelling. On May 9, 1992, NKR defense forces liberated Shushi, opening a corridor in the region of Lachin, connecting the territories of Karabakh and Armenia to partially eliminate the blockade of NKR. In June-July 1992, Azeri army's offensive resulted in the occupation of the regions of Shahumyan, Mardakert, and partially those of Martuni, Askeran and Hadrut. In August, 1992, the U.S. Congress adopted a resolution condemning the actions of Azerbaijan, prohibiting government to government economic assistance to Baku. In order to resist Azerbaijani aggression, life in the NKR completely focused on the military effort. The NKR State Defense Committee was formed on August 14, 1992. Separate defense detachments were reconfigured forming the Nagorno Karabakh defense army, based on principles of discipline and central command. The NKR defense army succeeded in liberating the previously captured territories from Azerbaijan and, during military engagements, occupied a few Azeri-adjacent regions that had been used as firing lines against the Armenians. The creation of the security zone precluded the immediate threat facing the peaceful population of the NKR. Through mediation of Russia, Kyrgyzstan, and the CIS Interparliamentary Council Azerbaijan, Nagorno Karabakh and Armenia signed the Bishkek Document in the capital of Kyrgyzstan, Bishkek, on May 5, 1994. According to that document, parties to the conflict agreed to a cease-fire, effective from May 12th to date. In 1992, the OSCE Minsk Group was formed to resolve the Karabakh conflict, with the settlement talks launched under its auspices. Throughout 26 years, none of the people of Karabakh ever allowed the thought of returning under Azeri jurisdiction: none of them will agree to stand back from something won at the cost of all the bloodshed and losses suffered.

http://www.thetribunepapers.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/Arsacid_Armenia_Arshakunyan_Arshagounian_map-RS.png The Tribune Papers is a newspaper published in Asheville and Hendersonville, North Carolina, USA. Recently a two parts article was published by them. There is no new thing in them, just a good summery of the Genocide. Remembering the Armenian Genocide Islam’s Holy War Against Christianity – Turkey, 1894-1923 Part 1 of a Series by Mike Scruggs http://www.thetribunepapers.com/2014/01/31/remembering-the-armenian-genocide/ Part 1 published on January 31, 2014 in Columnists, News Stories In nations governed by Islamic Law (Sharia), non-Muslims have the status of dhimmis (“protected people”). They are protected from slaughter or expulsion so long as they remain subservient and pay a special poll tax, called the Jizya, to their Muslim masters. Under the rules of dhimmitude the “protected people” must show deference at all times to Muslims and wear special clothing to distinguish themselves from Muslims. They are allowed only limited religious freedoms and have no political or civil rights outside the Sharia, which regulates their mandated status of degradation and humiliation. Usually, besides the Jizya, they must also pay a large part of their income to the Muslim community. Their continued status as dhimmis is strictly at the pleasure of the dominant Muslim population. They are subject to have their properties confiscated or their lives forfeited at any time. Muhammad instituted this practice as a source of Muslim income, which resulted in the umma (Muslim people) becoming somewhat dependent on the dhimmi class for various technical skills. The Armenians are an ethnic group whose original homeland was the highlands surrounding Mount Ararat (Genesis 8:4). They have been an identifiable people for at least 4,000 years. The modern Republic of Armenia, formerly part of the Soviet Union, borders Turkey on the west, the Republic of Georgia on the north, Azerbaijan on the east, and Iran on the south. The Kingdom of Armenia, established about 500 BC, also now referred to as Greater Armenia, encompassed large parts of Eastern Turkey. Armenia was the first nation to declare itself a Christian nation about 301 AD. Most Armenians belong to the Armenian Apostolic Church, but about ten percent belong to the Armenian Catholic Church and about two percent to the Armenian Evangelical Church. There were once large Armenian populations in Istanbul, Izmir (formerly known as Smyrna, Revelation 2:8), and other metropolitan areas. Only a remnant now remain in Turkey. Near the beginning of the twentieth century, the 4.5 million Armenian and Greek Christians in Ottoman Turkey were of the subjugated dhimmi class. In Christian Europe and especially Britain, however, such Muslim practices were being viewed with alarm. Consequently, the Armenians began to appeal to Britain and other European powers to put pressure on Turkey to relax the Sharia rules pertaining to non-Muslims. There had been some relaxation late in the nineteenth century, but the Turks began to resent the Armenian overtures to European powers and became uncertain of their loyalty to Turkey. They considered these Armenian pleas for help to have violated their constraints as protected people under Sharia. In 1894, fearing increasing unrest, the Ottoman government persuaded Muslim religious leaders to undertake a major crack-down on any dissent by Armenian dhimmis regarding their subjugated status. In an 1896 dispatch, Henry Barnham, a British Consulate official, gave his personal description of events: “The butchers and tanners, with sleeves tucked up to the shoulders, armed with clubs and cleavers, cut down the Christians with cries of ‘Allahu akbar!’ (Allah is great!) (and) broke down the doors of their houses with pickaxes and levers, or scaled the walls with ladders. Then when mid-day came they knelt down and said their prayers, and then jumped up and resumed the dreadful work, carrying it on far into the night. Whenever they were unable to beat down the doors they fired the houses with petroleum…” One survivor recounted the destruction of two churches in the town of Severek in December of 1896: “The mob had plundered the Gregorian (Armenian) church, desecrated it, murdered all who had sought shelter there, and as a sacrifice beheaded the sexton on the stone threshold. Now it (the mob) filled our yard. The blows of an axe crashed in the church doors.” This survivor described the scene as this mob rushed into the second church and ripped apart Bibles and hymnbooks, blasphemed the cross as a sign of victory, and chanted their prayer (“There is no god but Allah, and Muhammad is His prophet.”) He then related: “The leader of the mob cried: ‘Believe in Muhammad and deny your religion.’ No one answered…The leader gave the order to massacre. The first attack was on our pastor. The blow of an axe decapitated him. His blood spurting in all directions, spattered the walls and ceiling” The British Consul intercepted a letter from a Turkish soldier giving this account to his family: “My brother, if you want news from here we have killed 1,200 Armenians, all of them food for the dogs…Mother I am safe and sound. Father, 20 days ago we made war on the Armenian unbelievers. Through Allah’s grace no harm befell us…May Allah bless you.” Another intercepted letter, evidently from an Armenian survivor, described the slaughter of refugees at a church in ancient Edessa. After breaking down the door, Turkish troops mockingly called for Christ to prove himself a greater prophet than Muhammad. Then according to the survivor: “They began killing everyone on the floor of the church by hand or with pistols. From the altar they gunned down women and children in the gallery. Finally the Turks gathered bedding and straw, on which they poured some thirty cans of kerosene and set the church ablaze.” This 1894-1896 Jihad against Christians in Eastern Turkey claimed 250,000 lives. Many Armenian women were forced into harems, and many women and children were sold as slaves. Rape, considered one of the rights of “booty” in Muslim Jihad, was routine. Some under duress converted to Islam, but others escaped to the West and reported the massacre. This enormous suffering inflicted upon Armenian Christians in Turkey was only a shadow of what was to come. In 1915, the Turkish government would order a far more organized genocide of Armenian and Greek Christians Part 2 published on February 9, 2014 in Columnists, News Stories http://www.thetribunepapers.com/2014/02/09/remembering-the-armenian-genocide-2/ Part 2 of a Series by Mike Scruggs-In 1915 the Turkish government ordered a far more organized genocide of the Armenians. In a period of two years, about 1.5 million Christians were killed. Johannes Lepsius, a missionary who visited the area during the First World War, reported that 549 villages were laid waste and the surviving inhabitants forcibly converted to Islam. He reported that 568 churches were destroyed and 282 churches were converted into mosques. A total of 21 protestant pastors and 170 Gregorian (Armenian) priests were subjected to unspeakable tortures before being murdered for refusing to denounce their faith and accept Islam. In the summer of 1915, Leslie Davis, the American Consul in Harput, tried to save as many Armenians as possible by hiding them in the consulate building. He soon ran out of room and had to put some in the consulate’s walled garden. At night the consulate employees could hear the Turks praying for Allah to bless them in their efforts to kill the Christians. Outside, they carried on their bloody work. The leaders in these atrocities were primarily Muslim clerics and theology students. To promote the idea of Jihad, the Sheikh-ul-Islam, the most senior Sunni Muslim religious leader in Turkey, published a pamphlet with these words: “Oh Muslims, ye who are smitten with happiness are on the verge of sacrificing your life and your good for the cause of right…He who kills one unbeliever of those who rule over us, whether he does it secretly or in the open, shall be rewarded by Allah.” Note the words “of those who rule over us” turn upside down the actual status of the victims. Anyone who rejects Islam is considered to be an oppressor. The Jihad against Christians was renewed in 1922. Perhaps the last brutal act was in the western Turkish city of Smyrna (now Izmir), one of the seven towns mentioned in the book of Revelation. The inhabitants were surrounded by the Turkish Army and systematically murdered. More than 150,000 died in four days of slaughter. The city was then burned to the ground. Allied British, French and American naval vessels were anchored in the city’s port, and their crews could hear the desperate cries of Smyrna’s Christians for rescue. To our eternal shame, they had been ordered not to interfere. The years of 1922 and 1923 claimed the lives of another one million Armenian and Greek Christians. Several hundred thousand were eventually able to make it to safety in Britain and the United States, and only about 100,000 remain in Turkey. Despite massive photographic and documental evidence and substantial personal testimonies, the Turkish government has never acknowledged its genocide of approximately 2.75 million Christians from 1894 to 1923. The victims included Armenian, Greek, and Protestant believers. Jihad occurs everywhere Islam encounters other cultures. In the Sudan, the Muslim regime is waging a bloody war against Christians, who are mostly concentrated in the southern part of the country. Thus far, two million Sudanese Christians have been killed, and five million have been displaced and are facing rampant disease and possible starvation. Former Secretary of State Colin Powell has said : “There is no greater tragedy on the face of the earth than the tragedy that is unfolding in the Sudan.” Meanwhile, Muslim terrorists are killing tens of thousands in the Philippines, Nigeria, Indonesia, the Indian Kashmir, and wherever Islam has established a beachhead in non-Muslim countries. Over 100,000 Muslims have died in an Islamic-sectarian civil war in Algeria. Once majority-Christian Lebanon is being destroyed as Muslim immigration and Hezbollah infiltration threaten renewed civil war there. The world is ablaze with Muslim Jihad. Yet most prominent European and American politicians continue to insist that Islam is “a religion of peace and tolerance” that has been hijacked by a small group of radicals. “Some call this evil Islamic radicalism; others, militant jihadism; still others, Islamo-facism. Whatever we choose to call the enemy, we must recognize that this ideology is very different from the tenets of the great religion of Islam.” –George W. Bush, November 14, 2005 “We honor the universal values that are embodied in Islam—love of family and community, mutual respect, the power of education, and the deepest yearning of all: to live in peace. Values that can bring people of every faith and culture together, strengthen us as people, and I would argue, strengthen the United States as a nation.” –Hillary Clinton, January 21, 1999 In December 2011, just nine months before the murder of the American ambassador to Libya and three American staff members in Benghazi, Hillary Clinton, acting on the desires of President Obama, was conspiring with the 56-nation-member Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to make “Islamophobia” or criticism of Islam a United Nations hate crime enforceable and punishable in the United States and other Western countries. This plan would have been more salable in the U.S., if the murder of American officials could have been blamed on an anti-Muslim video rather than an embarrassing resurgence of al-Qaeda terrorism. As to President Obama, this quote from FreedomPost.com should suffice: “Obama has repeatedly attacked traditional Christianity, and he has a very long history of anti-Christian actions. In public speeches he has repeatedly cast doubt on the Bible, he has repeatedly stated that he does not believe that Jesus is necessary for salvation, and he has consistently said that all ‘people of faith’ believe in the same God.” How is it that so many of our leaders are blind to the true nature of Islam, clearly taught in the Koran, the teachings of Muhammad, and clearly seen in history and current events? Too many of them reject scholarly Christian counsel and base their knowledge of Islam on the Muslim Brotherhood financed propaganda of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) and the delusional politically correct advice of liberal academics. American infatuation with multiculturalism and Islam is the path to national calamity.

I had no intention of 'spamming' as you say. To me it did not look a spam but it was related to the subject of how the sentiments in Germany are turning against muslim Turkey in favor of Armenians. This is the first time that Merkel openly and publicly admonished a Turkish leader to acknowledge our Genocide, why this chance? First the mood currently in Germany is against Muslim Turks who mostly refuse to assimilate into German society and a German political party is considering giving then dual citizenship as a solution (up to now immigrant Turks to Germany are not given German citizenship and theoretically can be evacuated any time). Then the other reason for this pro-Armenian stand by the Germany and EU is the Custom Union of Armenia with Russia and rejection of the Association with EU. Clearly EU want nullification of this Custom Union and return of Armenia into EU, hence the change in German attitude. But rest at peace Yervant1, I WILL NO LONGER MAKE ANY COMMENTS ON YOUR POSTS.

This article is put here because it affirms my point of view that the time of the West to top this world is over and the time of the East has arrived to boss and manage this world. By East of course Russia, certainly China and some others is meant. Perhaps also Iran as by East in the Bible it means countries by the direction of Iran. The "Lion" definitely means Jesus Christ. -------------------------- Just One Roar Of The Lion I saw this vision on the 22nd of August 2006. I saw a Lion. I walked with Him to a very high Rock. The Lion then Climbed the Rock, and Stood on the very top of this high Rock. I stood below, looking up at Him. He let out a LOUD ROAR. And EVERYTHING in the atmosphere / universe changed. In a flash I had a 360 degree vision, and what I am about to relate happened in a flash, but I spent the whole of the 22nd of August, just waiting on God, to see in ‘slow motion’, what I had seen in a speedy flash, and understand what I had seen. I was told that my mind could not grasp the vastness of the changes I saw in the Vision. So I stayed at home, and did not take up any duties but spent the whole day, off and on, every few hours just re-visiting this vision and seeing it unfurl in more detail, now at a speed that I could cope with. I don’t think I have ever seen such a lengthy vision, condensed into a 360-degree vision flash before. Frame by frame this is what I saw: I saw Empires fall, and wars begin. I saw that where previously, formulas and general understanding were proven, it did not work any more, where there were people and places overflowing with money one moment, the next morning the moneyed had nothing. I saw many ‘proven’ thoughts, and ways now nullified. I saw that the balance was tipped in favor of the East. I saw Angels who had been working in the North and Northwest, recalled and sent East. I saw children snatched out of the hands of some of the parents. Fresh food stopped in the western area and was diverted to the East. The fertile became barren and the barren became fertile. All this, from Just One Roar of the Lion. I saw 3 long lines of writing in the sky. It read: Lost, Lost, Lost. But below, it I saw the word: Gain , gain, gain……..where this line ended I could not see, as it just continued on, endlessly. I saw that the East gained money, food, etc. The losses [of the West] were loss of power, prestige, money, position. I saw: Where a soldier stood to load his gun, to shoot, even the last single bullet he had was taken away. Where a soldier stood ready for packing his gun, where truce had been declared, divine bullets loaded his gun, and led him to shoot. In the Universe, expected cosmic events were diverted and unexpected ones were brought forth. Deserts bloomed, greenery was made barren. Light that had focused on the West, now moved East. This was so sudden that it was like saying…”One morning I woke up, and all was changed”. (Scripture: Amos 3: 8: ) The lion hath roared, who will not fear? The Lord God hath spoken, who can but prophecy? The Lion has Roared. Dark clouds disintegrated from one place and gathered in another. Whilst there was a West to East exchange on a large level, on individual levels there were changes too. Everything, everything, everything, was changing. All this from, Just One Roar of the Lion. Just that One Roar, and things from here, were flying there and vice versa. People/ Nations, who had got used to a way of life/of thinking, were in for either a shock or a surprise. CHANGE, CHANGE, CHANGE, CHANGE, CHANGE, CHANGE, CHANGE. The hungry were fed, and the fed, went hungry. All opposites were happening. Many homeless were housed, and many of those with homes, became homeless. Light became dark and dark became light. Whatever the present situation, the opposite was happening. Many rich became poor and many of the poor became rich. All this, from Just One Roar of the Lion. Clouds that were meaning to rain, suddenly disintegrated and it rained elsewhere, where least expected. People were in puzzlement. They said to themselves, ” but I thought….” No nothing would be as “I thought. “ Many were saying, “ But it always worked this way”. Now no more. For those who said, “ It’s never worked for me,” they were surprised to know that it will, now. Heralds blew trumpets, proclaiming: “ End of empire, end of empire”. [this empire is USA] Anyone who had been a Specialist, Monopolist, the kingpin in any area of his life/business, now that would begin to end. Nations that had empires or aspirations building towards it, would now see the beginning of the end of those empires. Nothing was the same. Everything, everything had changed. Just One Roar Of The Lion. And He Has Roared. Empty pockets were filled, the filled emptied. Strategic changes were taking place. Whatever had worked like clockwork, would not work now. People of peace were making war, and warring nations calmed down. For the warring nations it was like the wind was taken out of their sails. Just as Egypt, Persia, Babylon, Rome, Britain etc were all once super powers/empires, but their reign and era ended, so now any ‘super power/ or aspirations thereof, was being diffused. Nations that were looked up to were now beginning to be looked down upon and vice versa. Balance of power and favor had shifted East. Angels in the West, held Gold Books. One book was titled “ Most Wanted”, the other, “ Most Favored”. ‘The Most Wanted’ Book had living photographs of the most evil people, the traitors etc. Each one was dealt with and disposed. The Most Favored, in the other gold Book with living photographs, were some of those, who had lived through most desolate conditions, such were lifted up. [this sound good news for desolate Armenia] (All were happening at once.) In the midst of all this, I heard the Angels sing: Glory, Glory, Glory. Time was speeded up in some places, in others, it was slowed down. Wild beasts were all crouching in fear, afraid. I saw the milk inside of cows, curdle. Just One Roar Of the Lion. I saw Eagles, fitted with miniature bells, the bells were so minute, it was hard to believe that if they rang any could hear. Eagles did not speak, they just carried the bells that were fitted to their beaks. People were to ‘read’ the sounds. Wheresoever the Eagles flew, to some the ringing of the bells was as a very high, deafening pitch. I was not allowed to hear this high pitch sound, but it was revealed to me, that it was an unbearable / deafening high pitch sound. But there were others who heard the same bells, which the Eagles had attached to their beaks, and to these the sound transmitted was different. It was sheer music. I heard this. Such people, had their hands lifted high and they were happily sighing and exclaiming, “ Finally!” I saw Angels collect gold crowns from those in the North, and they dipped the crowns in a smoky place (the kind of smoke one sees with dry ice), when the crowns emerged from the smoke, they looked exactly the same, but now they were silver. No matter in which direction I looked all had changed. It seemed that the very nature of nature changed. Volcanoes that were dormant, the ashes were removed, and a new fire was lit in them. It seemed that certain species, suddenly became extinct. Reams of paper fell from the sky; paper and pens were sent down, for Chroniclers and Historians, for it was going to be a busy time for them. Nothing of all creation was left untouched, at Just One Roar of The Lion. Outside, the earth looked still, but within were rapid-fire changes. Quick, sudden, some were devastating, others surprisingly favorable, but this favor was mostly for the East. I saw what looked like a flight-path that normally airlines describe on their brochures, as routes of flights/destinations. For prophets, their flight -paths were moved from here to there, as if randomly, but it was not random, it was the Plan of God for prophets. Prophets will be suddenly moved, and see things from a new vantage point. I saw some people become tar, whilst others became fountains of water. Just One Roar Of The Lion. Many changes took place in the Universe. On earth, snows of old melted, and water in unlikely places froze. It is no ordinary thing, when the Lion Roars. Those dressed warm in the winter, had their clothes taken away, they were left naked. But the naked street-dweller was clothed. There was a divine transfer of wealth, knowledge, and understanding. People, who’d talked and talked for years, had their mouths taped. But as in Ezekiel 24: 27, those that had been mute for a season, now spoke. As the vision progressed, I heard the Lord Say: "My People have no roof over their head. I Am their Roof." I was flown speedily, over building after building, and as we flew, I heard the Lord Say: “ Not Mine, not Mine, not Mine, not Mine, not Mine, not Mine, not Mine.” Now I was despairing. What then was God’s? Then I was shown, people in the fields, with instruments. They had no roof over their heads. These were God’s own. The buildings we flew over, were demolished by an elephant’s trunk and many T.V. Studios, had a fire underneath them. Apparently these buildings had been re-built on the same grounds where prior buildings had been condemned and burnt. These new buildings had been built on the foundations of charred remains, and ashes. I saw oil poured out from the sky, in two separate ways. One fell over people who gladly received it over them and laughed in the ‘oil rain’. On the other hand, for others, the oil rain, caused to be set aflame, all that was below. All that was up to the present became obsolete, and new technology, the secrets of which were hidden in nature, appeared. Science made simple but profound discoveries. I saw Scientists have a ‘Eureka’ moment. For many who were researching, studying, looking for, the ‘thing’, it was right there before their very noses. Once they saw it they slapped their foreheads, lamenting, “ Silly me!” Follies of science were exposed. The simplicity of the discoveries to come, were mind-boggling. Just One Roar Of The Lion. The very nature of nature seemed to be changing. It was as unbelievable as Isaiah 11: 6-8, ‘the wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid;…… In some places, I saw an overabundance of wheat, which flowed into the sea, as it was so plentiful. But in other places, I saw land, which was once green, and was now parched land, where nothing grew. I saw beautiful blooms on cactus/desert plants. He, who understands these changes, will prepare. The Earth was in a global eclipse. One half had light, the other half was in darkness. It seemed that plates were /shifted/ removed from the earth. There were people who raged against God. “ We’ll do what we have to, let Him do what He Wants to”, they were saying. Trees trembled. They knew that their time to be cut had come. To many, prophets and counselors were restored, but from others, the prophets and counselors departed. Sadly from those they departed, noticed it not. Focus/emphasis of the Church, and the world, due to the presence of new circumstances, changed. All this, by Just One Roar Of The Lion. ---------- Vision/dream seen by Swarna Jha

I think Germans are being fed up with Muslim Turks in their country, they have millions Turks in Germany most unassimilated and unpleasant to deal with by Germans, and Germans started to tell it like it is. Here in this video we see another German woman starts protesting when a Muslim Turk starts praying loud in a church: http://youtu.be/BQ-woo76df0

In order to avoid breakups, here is what women want their men to be: 1-Has the power to command 2-Be the quiet confidence to know for sure that he will prevail, and the daring to go for it and take what he wants. 3-Has a commanding presence even if he doesn't know it. 4-Faint hearted men never win fair lady. The winners are those with fearlessness--or daring or courage even in the face of fear. He who dares, wins. 5-Project assurance calmly. 6-The absence of any hint of asking for a favor or appealing to pity. 7- Has directness. Activeness. Effectiveness. 8- And not hiding behind a flirty exterior, never daring to risk being direct. If a man is like that then he is able to tame a female, even if she is a shrew or a bitch. And here is what women does not want their men be, men with those traits bring breakups in relationships: 1-Men who have a victim mentality, or who appeal to pity, or who plead or beg for favors, or who grovel, or who are delicate, sensitive, out of this world. (females serve as the grounding force to males to cement them to ground in order to help females to raise children and provide costs) 2-Men who are pale, slender, and have a soft, sensitive mouth; and look to be objects of hurt from others. 3-Men who seem helpless, or who are endlessly sorry for themselves. 4- Men who have a bad temper that they can't control, or who otherwise appear weak, don't have it.

Notice how Armenians in Iran are using the ancient name of north-west Iran as "Atrpatakan". While Iran has divided the same region into two provinces calling them West Azerbaijan and East Azerbaijan. Apparently the Iranian name for Atrpatakan is Azerbaijan; this name was the same that Tartar and Turks have stolen (they always plunder, steal, and say lies upon lies, what is not theirs) have stolen from Iran and called the region around Baku "Azerbaijan" inventing a new country there and then claiming that their new country with the two Iranian provinces of West & East Azerbaijan form one nation, and to their Amazement USA and CIA bought that lie since we see American & Israeli services are agitating and subverting the Atrpatakanias (who are none-Turks and none Tartar but speak Turkish and are Muslims by religion since both the Turkish language & religion was imposed on them centuries ago) subverting the Atrpatakanias living in north Iran to rebel against Tehran and engage in separation and hostile activities against Iran. Modern Azerbaijan of Baku and Turkey of Ankara are claiming that those Atrpatakanias are their kins since they speak Turkish. Well, the Hemshen Armenians also speak the Turkish language and were forced to conversation to Islam --Does that make those Armenians Turks? TEHRAN — Iranian President Hassan Rouhani marked the anniversary of the founding of the Islamic republic of Iran on Tuesday saying “We want to increase national unity and clear our hearts from some past events." ARMENIAN DIOCESE OF ATRPATAKAN HOLDS EVENT ON 35TH ANNIVERSARY OF ISLAMIC REVOLUTION 10 February, 2014 YEREVAN, ARMENPRESS: National school of Tabriz celebrated 35th anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution. The Armenian Diocese of Atrpatakan organized a festive event with participation of school students. The National Prelacy of the Armenian Diocese of Atrpatakan informed "Armenpress" that 35 balloons were released to air conditioned by the symbolic number of the day.

The first part of this talk by Jesus Christ is directed to atheists and agnostics which I am sure there are some in this forum. The second part is for those who are His own: "I will never forsake My own. I will never ignore those who are lonely, sad, frightened and unsure as to whether or not God Exists". Then Jesus says: "Never before have I intervened to such great magnitude, as I do now. It is because of My Desire to save the whole of humanity". Truly a must-read! Jesus is Alive! February 7th, 2014My dearly beloved daughter, as My Messages spread and as they ignite the need to encourage many to turn to Me, many miracles will be witnessed. Non-believers, those of every faith and those who have cut themselves off from Me because of their sinful lives, will convert. Of that, I promise you. The man whose eyes are closed will open them. Those with hatred in their hearts will cry tears of joy when the weight of their burden is lifted. The man who does not know Me at all will recognize Me. So many will come and call out to Me and the Presence of the Holy Spirit will be felt by many, when they finally accept that I have intervened to save them from all harm. My daughter, please reassure all those who feel saddened by the way in which My Existence in the world is being denied. Tell them, although every trace of Me will be vanquished, that by the Grace of God, I will continue to enlighten the souls of those who call out to Me. I will never forsake My own. I will never ignore those who are lonely, sad, frightened and unsure as to whether or not God Exists. By simply moving their pride to one side and asking Me for a sign of My Presence, I will respond to them. Never before have I intervened to such great magnitude, as I do now. It is because of My Desire to save the whole of humanity, that I will cut through to the hearts of those who, up to now, have denied Me, if and when they call out to Me. I await your response. I anticipate the love and joy, which I will fill your hearts and souls with, at the moment of reconciliation, for that is the sweetness of your conversion. That will be the time when you unlock your soul and allow the Light of God to bring you the greatest Gift you could ever imagine – the Gift of Eternal Life. Your Jesus

Did I mention that their Facebook has some nice videos also? Like this one "My Gift To Armenia" the film starts after minute 2 in the video --with great Armenian landscapes filmed in HD and very clean: the author of this film, posted on Oct 24, 2013, is Francesco he says: "This video is about Francesco (one of the EVS volunteers who's also realized the other videos) and his trips around Armenia. "While traveling around - during our free days from the project - I always took short videos with my little HD camera, trying to seize the beauty that I saw around me. I later decided to make a longer video with some of the shootings to send it to family and friends, in order to let them know where I was and what I was doing. While editing, I found out this could also be a nice video about Armenia and the experience of traveling in it. So I've decided to share it. For me, it is also a way to show my gratitude to a country which has been kindly hosting me for three months. Hope you like it!"

Last summer a group of 10 Italians, involved in a European Volunteering Service in Armenia, went to northern Armenia to restore and promote culturally three monasteries around the city of Dilijan (Tavush Region) called Haghartsin, Ghoshavank and Jukhtak Vank. What is amazing about their blog "Apricots and Monasteries" that there are beautiful pictures in their blog and you have only to click on the small photo to get it in the large clear format. Example is the one shown below, this is not the Tatev region in south Armenia but the northern Sanahin region, (sa-na-hin=this one is older than the other) monastery. In order to get into the next post in their blog, you have to scroll at the bottom, below the word "comments" and there is the name of the new article and the small arrow you have to clink on in order to get to the next post. In the link given, the next post is written as "Brochures Are Coming" and the small arrow is at left of it. http://evsarmeniablog.wordpress.com/2013/10/08/chronicles-from-our-final-event/ http://evsarmeniablog.files.wordpress.com/2013/07/dsc00817-copia.jpg

Hemp for Armenia first as heating fuel-wood for winter http://www.leafscience.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/hemp-uses-02-10-01.jpg The first U.S. house built from hemp is located in Asheville, North Carolina, USA Notice how that house is build only by iron bars and hemp. If hemp can be formed on the shape wood then it can be used to burn in stoves in rural Armenia in place of wood from trees, trees that are becoming scare in Armenia. Currently in rural areas of Armenia cow dungs in the shape shaped round and tree-woods are used for winter heating, hemp would come handy as another source of heat specially that even in rural towns gas and electricity may be cut off in winter because of accidents and overuse, as it happened recently in Vanadzor, the 3th largest city of Armenia. The Top Five Most Innovative Uses For Hemp 9 February 2014 http://www.earth-heal.com/news/news/40-powerful-plants/1438-top-5-most-innovative-uses-for-hemp.html In 1937, Popular Science published an article called “Hemp: The New Billion-Dollar Crop” that listed over 25,000 potential uses for the plant. While this ancient crop has recently started to gain popularity around the world, it still hasn’t received the attention it deserves. Which might be due to the fact that hemp is just a type of marijuana that can’t get you high. But as more countries start to see the benefits of this incredibly eco-friendly crop, a lot of cool R&D has been happening behind the scenes. Here’s 5 of our favorite innovations being developed from hemp: 1. Bacteria-Fighting Fabric A Colorado company is using hemp to fight the spread of staph infections in hospitals. The plan is to offer antibacterial hemp fabric as a replacement for traditional cotton and polyester fabrics, where bacteria are known to survive for up to months at a time. Various chemicals found in both hemp and cannabis have been shown to possess antibacterial and antifungal properties. EnviroTextile’s hemp fabric is still in development, but has already shown promise in early lab tests. 2. Housing Insulation Insulation made from hemp is quickly becoming a popular eco-friendly alternative to traditional insulation materials like mineral wool. Not only is hemp a more sustainable raw material, but the final product is also carbon-negative. That means it has the ability to absorb more greenhouse gases over its lifetime than emitted during the production process. The production of mineral wool, on the other hand, contributes greenhouse gases to the atmosphere. A recent study compared the two insulation materials head-to-head and concluded that hemp was the more sustainable choice. 3. Concrete Hemp has also found its way into concrete mixes. Hemp concrete can be used for a variety of construction needs, from walling to roof insulation to flooring. On top of being carbon-negative, hemp concrete is said to be easier to work with and has natural insulating and moisture regulating properties. Hemp bricks also lack the brittleness of traditional concrete and thus do not require expansion joints. 4. Cars Hemp composite can be found in cars made by Audi, BMW, Ford, GM, Chrysler, Mercedes, Lotus and Honda, among many others. Biocomposite made from hemp fiber is just as strong as fiberglass, but incredibly lightweight. All-electric cars like the BMW i3 are especially reliant on hemp. BMW was able to shed about 10% of weight from the i3′s door panels by using hemp composite instead of traditional materials. With fuel economy becoming a primary focus of all car makers, hemp composite will only become more common in cars in years to come. 5. Graphene-Like Nanomaterial Graphene is often touted as the future of nanotechnology and the thinnest, strongest, and lightest material ever made. But how does hemp compare? Apparently, it’s even better. Earlier this year, chemical engineers from the University of Alberta turned hemp fiber into a nanomaterial with similar properties as graphene, but a much lower price tag. What’s more, when it comes to making energy storage devices like batteries and supercapacitors, the hemp nanomaterial showed “superior electrochemical storage properties” compared to graphene...

ANSEF Researchers Win Awards for Best Research Project February 7, 2014 http://blog.farusa.org/ FAR is very proud to announce that two young ANSEF scientists are among this year’s winners of the very prestigious Best Research Project for 2013 Award from the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports and The National Academy of Sciences. The awards – eight in total – were given in the fields of technical, natural and social sciences, and the humanities. Aram Zeytunyan, 28, and Hovakim Zaqaryan, 27, both assets to the ANSEF program, won for best projects in the natural science category. Aram is a senior researcher in the Optics Department of the Faculty of Physics at Yerevan State University (YSU). He graduated YSU with his bachelor’s degree in 2005, and in 2010 earned his PhD in physics. He was just 25 years old. He has authored more than 40 scientific articles, of which eight have been published in international science journals. Over the years Aram has received support from his mentor Levon Mouradian, a fellow ANSEF recipient, physics professor at YSU, and the Scientific Director of the Laboratory of Ultrafast Optics and Photonics. In 2013, Aram received an ANSEF grant for his project entitled Novel Methods of Femtosecond Pulse Compression and Diagnostics. The project dealt with optical pulse compression and diagnostics. Aram’s related project called Ultrafast Optical Oscilloscope, which had the aim of developing a high-resolution optical oscilloscope to be used in high-tech equipment, won the Best Research Project Award. The end product will be used at the Center for the Advancement of Natural Discoveries Using Light Emission (CANDLE) Synchrotron Research Institute: http://www.candle.am/ Hovakim earned his master’s degree from YSU’s Faculty of Biology in 2008. He completed his PhD in biology in 2013. Since then he has worked for the Molecular Biology Institute at the National Academy of Sciences. Like Aram, Hovakim has also been published in national and international science journals. In 2011, Hovakim received an ANSEF grant for his project Comparative Study of Cytological and Morphological Characteristics of Immune Cells Infected by African Swine Fever Virus in Vivo and in Vitro. ANSEF gave him an opportunity to investigate the pathogenesis of African Swine Fever Virus, a complex DNA virus, which is considered to be one of the most devastating viral diseases of domestic pigs and has the potential for widespread impact on agriculture. The damage caused by the swine fever virus in Armenia, Georgia and Russia in 2013 alone was estimated to be 1 billion USD. Currently, there is no effective vaccine available to treat it. The research he conducted with the help of his 2011 ANSEF grant enabled him to proceed with his project Design of Antiviral Agents Based on Synthetic Oligonucleotides Against African Swine Fever Virus, which won the Best Research Project Award. Hovakim’s research shows the emergence of cells present in the viral infection, which indicate the possibility to produce a medication that can help to prevent the virus from spreading. FAR is proud to have supported these two young researchers through the ANSEF program and we wish them all the best for their future endeavors. Based on this notable achievement they’re both on the path to making significant contributions to science. Glendale schools to offer Armenian language classes 10.Feb.2014 http://www.armradio.am/en/2014/02/10/glendale-schools-to-offer-armenian-language-classes/ As Glendale school officials continue to review a plan to offer the district’s popular dual-language immersion classes through the 12th grade, they announced this week which high schools would offer the foreign-language courses, the Glendale News-Press reports. At the elementary level, the dual-immersion program has students spend at least half the instructional day speaking and learning in a language other than English. At the high-school level, students would continue studying their chosen language with an intensive class every day. According to the proposal, Hoover High School would offer German, French, Italian and Armenian classes and would offer a Spanish class for students currently enrolled at Franklin and Edison elementary schools. Crescenta Valley High School would offer Korean classes for students who begin studying that language at Monte Vista Elementary. Glendale High would offer Armenian, Spanish and Japanese classes. Clark Magnet High School, specializing in science and technology, would not offer any of the advanced language classes, said Kelly King, assistant superintendent of Glendale Unified. School board president Nayiri Nahabedian said she supports the proposal because it appears to provide balance to high schools and middle schools in respect to their enrollment sizes and language offerings. When Glendale Unified Supt. Dick Sheehan told parents during a school board meeting on Tuesday that the district is aiming to expand the dual-immersion programs to advanced language classes at local high schools, the audience erupted in applause. According to the proposal, Toll Middle School would offer classes in Armenian, Korean and Spanish, while Korean classes would be available at Rosemont Middle School. RooseveltMiddle School would offer classes in Spanish, French, German and Italian.

“Armenian Genocide Truth and Justice Act” Making its Rounds on Capitol Hill and in the Community By: Joseph Kazazian http://ancawr.org/2014/02/03/hres227/ The Armenian National Committee of America- Western Region (ANCA-WR) has been hard at work discussing and promoting the new, groundbreaking Armenian Genocide Truth and Justice Act (H.Res. 227). As a result, Armenian-Americans across the country have been calling on their members of congress to join in support of H.Res 227. The Resolution, Introduced by Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA), Rep. David Valadao (R-CA), Rep. Michael Grimm (R-NY), and Rep. Frank Pallone (D-NJ), calls on President Barack Obama to shed light on the United States record on the Armenian Genocide. This new resolution, unlike previous resolutions, asks for the Obama Administration to acknowledge the United States record of the first genocide of the 20th century, as a precursor to fostering better Turkish-Armenian Relations. The resolution also highlights the past record of statements on the Armenian Genocide dating back all the way to the Wilson Administration. H.Res 227 already has a growing list of co-sponsors, because it calls on working towards lasting and durable Armenian-Turkish relations with the full and just recognition of the Armenian Genocide by Turkey. “It’s a different approach to the age old question,” said ANCA WR Executive Director Elen Asatryan. “There needs to be a just acknowledgement of the Armenian Genocide by the Obama Administration. Without a clear and just resolution to the Mass murder of 1.5 million Armenians, a lasting peace between the Turkish and Armenian people is near impossible.” The ANCA-WR asks that you contact your member of Congress, and urge them to support H.Res 227. For more information, please visit http://anca.org/justice/. The Armenian National Committee of America-Western Region is the largest and most influential Armenian American grassroots advocacy organization in the Western United States. Working in coordination with a network of offices, chapters, and supporters throughout the Western United States and affiliated organizations around the country, the ANCA-WR advances the concerns of the Armenian American community on a broad range of issues.

Christian rivals find unity in Nativity church restoration http://news.yahoo.com/christian-rivals-unity-nativity-church-restoration-045701236.html February 8, 2014 Bethlehem (AFP) - When Pope Francis visits Bethlehem in May he will see scaffolding covering the roof of the Church of the Nativity. It may be an eyesore, but it symbolizes a rare show of unity among rival Christian faiths that are working together to restore the ancient basilica. Built in the fourth century by the Roman Emperor Constantine and restored by Justinian after a fire in the sixth century, the shrine over the cave where Jesus is believed to have been born is undergoing a major renovation. ----- Father Stephane Milovich, a Franciscan and former caretaker at the church, says it has turned out to be a blessing that the project is getting under way only now, as a cooperative venture among his order, the Greek Orthodox and the Armenian churches. "A century ago the Greeks, the Armenians and the Franciscans wouldn't have cooperated," he said. "We have a building which has not changed, which is why we must save

According to my opinion, those "vishap stones" that many have survived in Armenia are indication that there were vishap-worshipers in ancient Armenia and many such stones served as altars or locations were such vishap-worship was done, some in the forests. "Vishap stones, vishap stellas or vishapakar (Armenian: Վիշապաքար, 'serpent-stones"', 'dragon stones'), also known as simply vishaps, are characteristic menhirs found in large quantities in Armenia. They are commonly carved into cigar-like shapes with fish heads or serpents. Supposedly they are images of vishaps, mystical creatures."

By destroying the dragon and dragon worship in Ancient Armenia the Armenian war hero Vahagn could be considered the first "Christian" in Armenia since dragon is a symbol of satan and dragon worshipers were satanists. We see in the book of Revelation, Chapter 12:7 "And there was war in heaven, Michael and his angels waging war with the dragon. The dragon and his angels waged war, and they were not strong enough.." and those dragons were cast to earth. In the Revelation of St. John we see the mention of dragon in other verses, like in 20:2 "He seized the dragon, that ancient serpent, who is the devil, or Satan, and bound him for a thousand years." What is strange to me is that some Armenians who still worship Vahagn are working or fighting against the Armenian church and against Jesus putting even the hero Vahagn in shame of them because of their contact (yes, hero Vahagn, put some hot-pepper into their mouth). Vahagn now is saying: Unity is the solution, and this solution is in Jesus Christ. Christian unity is possible despite diversity in Armenian Christianity. What Vatican is doing now is wrong, it's working for unity among diverse religions, the none Christians also. To do that, to bring Christians and non-Christians in some kind of unity, it sound making Babylon anew and is ungodly.

Vahagn worshipers Yes onjig, the Armenian Mother See is under attack specially from those pagan Armenians who still worship Vahagn the Armenian pagan god, a creature who was created by the creator Jesus Christ. Worshiping the creature in place of the creator is a grave sin and that would explain the miseries that the Armenian nation is still going thru --giving glory to pagan gods in place of Jesus Christ. So I would think twice before I befriend an Armenian with the name of Vahagn. I mean in ancient Armenia and from surviving ancient statues of Vishapakagh in the Republic of Armenia we see those Armenian ancient gods fought against those dragon-worshipers in Armenia and prevailed but then they, those pagan gods, themselves were worshiped by the Armenian people. After the coming of Jesus Christ and conversion to Christianity this pagan worship should have stopped, but apparently it did not in some Armenian sectors and by some Jesus-hater Armenians from Los Angeles to Yerevan, from Canada to S. America. Even some infiltrated and are vocal in Armenian forums and Armenian social networks. Some time in his existence, he formed a "triad" with Aramazd and Anahit. Vahagn was identified with the Greek Heracles. The priests of Vahévahian temple, who claimed Vahagn as their own ancestor, placed a statue of the Greek hero in their sanctuary. In the Armenian translation of the Bible, "Heracles, worshipped at Tyr" is renamed "Vahagn". All the gods, according to the Euhemerist belief, had been living men; Vahagn likewise, was introduced within the ranks of the Armenian kings, as the son of Yervand (6th century B.C.), together with his brothers — Bab and Tiran. Historian Khorenatsi's report of an ancient song gives a clue to his nature and origin: Ancient Armenian origin of Vahagn's birth song In travail were heaven and earth, In travail, too, the purple sea! The travail held in the sea the small red reed. Through the hollow of the stalk came forth smoke, Through the hollow of the stalk came forth flame, And out of the flame a youth ran! Fiery hair had he, Ay, too, he had flaming beard, And his eyes, they were as suns! Other parts of the song, now lost, said that Vahagn fought and conquered dragons, hence his title Vishabakagh, "dragon reaper", where dragons in Armenian lore are identified as "Vishaps". He was invoked as a god of courage, later identified with Herakles. He was also a sun-god, rival of Baal-shamin and Mihr. The Vahagnian song was sung to the accompaniment of the lyre by the bards of Goghten (modern Akulis), long after the conversion of Armenia to Christianity. The stalk or reed, key to the situation, is an important word in Indo-European mythology, in connection with fire in its three forms. Vahagn was linked to Verethragna, the hypostasis of victory in the texts of the Avesta; the name turned into Vahagn (the Avestan "th" becoming "h" in Arsacid Middle Persian), later on to take the form of Vahagn. See Վահագն for more on the origin of the name. The Armenian princely house of Vahevunis believed to derive from Vahagn. The Vahevunis were ranked high in the Royal Registrar of Armenia, recorded by King Valarshak. In the pre-Christian Armenia, the Vahevunis hereditarily possessed the temple town of Ashtishat on the left bank of the Aratzani river and most likelly also held the post of the Sparapet, i.e.t he Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Armenian Army.

Having fear of God is a common theme in Christian theology as it's mentioned in the Bible many times. In our Bible the word “fear” is translated from the Hebrew word “yare’” which in context means “to fear, reverence, honor, respect.” We see this reverence of God among Eastern Armenians when they would not leave the entrance of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin with their back to the altar inside, rather they will walk backward facing the altar. It's the same also in Heaven, you do not take a leave of the Presence of God from His throne room with your back to it but you walk backward facing the altar. Then you often see this reverence on their faces during the service of Badarak in the church. This article talks about this fear of God that Christians should have; and by "Israel" is meant every believer in Jesus Christ and not the Jewish believers only. Notice how in numbered 1 to 4, the fear of God comes first because without this fear you can not walk with God, you can not love Him, and you can not serve Him. First comes this fear, reverence, honor and respect, then the rest threes come: learning about God, loving, and serving. Deuteronomy 10:12 says: “And now, Israel, what doth the LORD thy God require of thee, but 1-to fear the LORD thy God, 2-to walk in all his ways, 3-and to love him, 4-and to serve the LORD thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul,” . The Israelites and Christians admonished to fear the Lord, walk in His ways, to love Him, and to serve Him. The above Scripture was directed to Israel but as born again believers in Jesus Christ we are to have the same attitude. Do you stand in awe of God? Do you revere, honor, and respect Him? Do you love Him? Every Christian would do well to heed this verse. Fearing God is a term that seems to have fallen by the wayside. Somehow we seem to think God is our buddy who just accepts us as we are and isn’t very concerned when we go against His ways. It’s true that Jesus is our friend, but He’s a friend who is worthy of our respect. His ways are never to be taken lightly. He alone is worthy of our worship and our praise. In fearing Him, that is respecting Him and revering Him, we don’t have to be afraid of Him. There is a difference between fearing Him and being afraid of Him. When I was a boy I had a fear of my father, meaning I respected him and I wanted to please him. I wasn’t afraid of him because I was his child and I knew he loved me. Even when I did things he didn’t like he never stopped loving me. Our Heavenly Father loves us even more than our earthly father. We who belong to Him need not be afraid of Him, but we do need to fear Him. “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge; but fools despise wisdom and instruction. Proverbs 1:7. If you do not fear God then perhaps the second part of this verse refers to you. As Solomon plainly states it is foolish to ignore God’s truth. Why is it that so many people refuse to listen to the truth of the scriptures? If we fear God we want to please Him. In order to please Him we need to know what He expects of us. His directions for living a life that honors and respects Him are found in His word. The Holy Bible is very clear on what His standards are…and the penalty of disobedience. The more we allow ourselves to become His property, the more He will increase our knowledge. God does not want us to be ignorant of Him and we must search the Scriptures to gain knowledge of Him. “These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.”Acts 17:11. Those who “were more noble” were the Bereans who listened to what was being taught, but searched the Scriptures (Old Testament) to be sure it was correct. By so doing they gained knowledge. We, too, need to search both the Old and New Testaments to be sure things people try to teach us, as well as our own assumptions, line up with Scripture. If we fear God we need to take His word seriously and live our lives accordingly. Why is it that some people, like the Bereans, understand the need to search Scripture to gain knowledge and understanding, but other people, even some who claim to be Christians, just don’t care what He says? I believe the answer can be found in the very lifestyles of those who refuse to gain knowledge of Him and reject His ways. Plainly stated there are those who enjoy the sinful lifestyle they live so much that they will not heed or even desire to hear God’s warning. Having said that, should we who are born again believers ignore those people because we are afraid they won’t listen to our message? No. You see, we don’t convince the lost of their current condition, that’s the Holy Spirit’s job. We are the messenger of the truth, He does the convicting. It’s not up to us to decide who to witness to, but instead we need to witness every time we know God is telling us to. Then it’s up to the individual to choose God over Satan. Paul made many missionary journeys to cities where sin raged. He faced many trying times in his life, but his fear (respect) of God drove him on. He lived his life in a way that honored God and was a wonderful Christian example to others. We also need to fear God and live a life that respects Him in order to make our witness believable. We need to “walk in His ways”. Jesus tells us that there is a time to be afraid of God. “Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him,” Luke 12:5. Many times in Scripture we’re told to “fear not”, but here in the Gospel of Luke we’re actually told to be afraid of what God can do. Each of us is free to make a choice of accepting Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection as payment in full for our sin, or we can reject His sacrifice. “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 6:23. The death spoken of in this verse is eternal death. It isn’t a fun place where you will meet up with all the other people who party hearty and reject Christ, but a place of eternal damnation. There will be eternal anguish, wailing, and gnashing of teeth. It is an individual choice that will send a person to hell or allow entry into Heaven. God gave us the only way of salvation, and I do mean the only way. That is through Jesus Christ, and Him alone. If you study Scripture and gain knowledge, you will fear (respect) God, but there should also be the fear (terror) of Him who has “the power to cast into hell”. The only time God will pull His presence away from us is when we’ve condemned ourselves to Hell through our unbelief and rejection of Jesus Christ. That should be a terrifying thought Fearing the Lord is the beginning of knowledge. A starting point if you will. Diligent study brings forth an abundance of knowledge. There are many God-fearing men who fill the pulpits each Sunday and preach God’s truth. No matter how many Sunday mornings we sit and warm a pew, we will never receive all of the knowledge God wants us to gain if we just sit and listen. When I first became a Christian I was excited. Every Sunday I would listen closely to see what the man in the pulpit had to say. On the other hand my wife, who had been a Christian for many years, didn’t accept everything that was being preached. After theSunday services she would bring up the questions she had and we would search the Scriptures. I learned that what was being preached wasn’t always Scriptural. I had a fear of the Lord and respected His word; I studied and gained knowledge. Through this I found a deep love for searching the Scriptures daily. Sunday morning sermons have their place, but studying our Bibles is where knowledge is gained. God does not want us to be ignorant of His word. Fear (respect) for God should propel us into diligent study. Prophecy is being fulfilled daily, but there are those who don’t take the time to study and so they become confused. Therefore they believe we aren’t supposed to understand. If we weren’t to understand why do we have so much prophecy in the Bible? God tells us in advance what will happen so we can be prepared. Then there are those who think that people have changed, so therefore God’s word needs to be revised to fit today’s lifestyles. They think that abortion should not be seen as murder, but a choice. Homosexuality is now “acceptable” though the Bible speaks strongly against this abomination. We who fear God and strive “…to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve the LORD thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul”, as stated in the first verse above, know that He has not changed His mind on any of this. Every Christian needs to understand that God has not changed and we need to conform to Him. If we love Him we need to walk in His ways and not expect Him to walk in ours. “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and forever.” Hebrews 13:8. That means that as you study Scripture and gain knowledge, you will come to understand that God gave the Law to Moses, and He hasn’t changed. Sin is still sin even if society says it is a “choice”. If you fear God you will reject the sin in your life and “…walk in all His ways”. No matter how hard we try we will never be able to fully walk in His ways. We all will stumble, but if we fear Him we will ask His forgiveness and learn from our failures. The fear of the Lord will give us knowledge of how to please Him. Life on earth is short and we need to make it a priority to serve the Lord. He does not want anyone to make the choice of rejecting Him and condemning themselves to Hell. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.” John 3:16-17. There is no love greater than that. There is no other way that a person can spend eternity with God than to believe in Him. Believe in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ and you will not perish, but you will have everlasting life. From the moment you believe your salvation is secure. From that point on you need to grow in knowledge of His ways. Study the Scriptures and then apply them to your life. Fear (be in awe of) the Lord and walk in all His ways. Turn from the ways of the world which is filled with sin “But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.” 2 Peter 3:18.Again I say, amen. God bless you all, Ron Graham www.straitandnarrowministry.com http://straitandnarrowministry.com/index.php/fear-the-lord/
