Sasun
What kind of a single guys is that? I'm sorry but around here, no single guy can make tabuleh. That takes time and effort. Well, I can make it on my own. If I was single I would make it more often given more spare time and more effort available. And how could you forget Azat? (he actually gave me the recipe) Forget about beans and barbeque, all single guys should learn to make tabuleh if they don't know already
Maral
To use in place of chips... Heat up a non stick skillet,a little below medium heat..don't grease, place Tablespoon fulls of shredded cheese, whatever kind you want, around the pan, don't overcrowd cause you will need to flip them...they will melt and start bubbling and release some oil, when they look browned around the edges, they are easily flippable with a thin spatula and brown on the o ther side, when they are at the right stage of doneness they easily cooperate with the spatuala,if they fight the spatula, let them go for a bit longer ,then place them on paper towels to drain more grease, they will harden as they are cooling and voila...get yourself something to dip them in! Bon Appetite Any cheese will do,parmesean(not the the kind in the green can though) or just the regular ol' shredded mixed cheese in the bag etc... nairi
Ikra Rating: healthy Time: ± 25 minutes. Ing: 1 eggplant, 1 chopped onion, tomato paste, water, garlic, salt, pepper to taste (I like to add a bit of chili pepper as well). Fry the onion, add the tomato paste, add the eggplant (chopped so it cooks faster), add water (about two cups) and let the eggplant cook until it's soft (mix occasionally to avoid burning etc.), and then start mixing it all until it becomes mushy. If it's too watery for your taste leave it on the stove until the amount of water you want evaporates. Eat as side-dish or dip with bread Bari akhorzhak

Sasun
So why Parskahye people use the Russian word "ikra" and think that it is Armenian? From now on, use "khaviar" instead of "ikra" (not that it is originally Armenian, sounds too much like English "caviar" although ours has a wider use than just fish caviar)
Maral
Nairi, good girl! my mom makes the best pickles from Choyote squashes(I think that's how it's spelled) and turmeric and garlic and jalapenos...if you want I'll get the recipe..sooooooo good. nairi
So why Parskahye people use the Russian word "ikra" and think that it is Armenian? Hey! I knew it was a Russian word, I just didn't know that there was an Armenian word for it. My mom learned to make it from a Ruski, that's why. Maral, any recipe is welcome as long as a student can make it

Sasun
Koko, ikra means caviar in Russian, its not just a name of a Russian dish. "khaviar" is the Armenian word.
