hyeguy21
I was wondering if anyone knows where I can purchase an Armenian keyboard, or even if it exists in the Diaspora? Something like each key has both Latin and Armenian letter. I know of such keyboards for other languages, but I can't find any Armenian. Or, are there keyboard "stickers" that I can paste on each key myself?
MosJan
http://www.datacal.com/dce/armenian-western-overlays.htm Armenian Western / Eastern Keyboard Overlays The Armenian language keytop overlays are available in blue letters on clear stickers (for standard keyboards) or white letters on clear stickers (for black keyboards and laptops). The overlay set includes the stickers necessary to create the Armenian Western or the Armenian Eastern keyboard layouts. This overlays conforms to the Microsoft Armenian keyboard layouts. hytga
$50? that's expensive for a piece of celafon. What i do is, i have this sticking paper, so i print the letters on it and cut into little cubes the paper and stick it to my keyboard By the way does any one know why did they misplace the letters? Like for D they put armenain (t), or for soft ® for english R, while we have both soft and hard R? Who decided upon this kind of layout anyway? most armenian fonts have that layout. They shoud change it. Edited March 29, 2004 by hytga
hyeguy21
Thank you. This is exactly what I was looking for. I guess they call them overlays. I was looking for stickers. Good price too. $12.95, not bad. I wouldn't bother to get the $50-$60 keyboard, it's probably some generic keyboard. One problem I noticed now is that Unicode Armenian and ArmSCII Armenian has different layouts. I guess the only solution is to have two keyboards, one for Western (Unicode) and one for Eastern (ArmSCII). Thanks again though. This is what I wanted. invizionpolitik
Actually it is much simpler than this: I think it might only be if you have Windows XP but anyways I know that if you go on Control Panel and it says Language and Settings or whatever you can add languages and switch back and forth...post back if you have a problem...it actually types armenian characters on anything, word documents (the only thing I havn't got it to work on is AOL Instant Messaging) but otherwise it should really work...then to know which letters are what I suppose you just paste stickers on...and it has just about every language of every civilized people and I already found it has both western and eastern Edited June 9, 2004 by invizionpolitik
