Reverence For Life

have you guys ever had a moment when you were filled with awe from the simplest thing? like taking a piece of fruit or some bread, holding it in your hand and marvel at its creation and its purpose for you? and then consumed it and felt gratitude and so darn lucky to be alive and to be experiencing chewing, biting, and being able to swallow the food that will serve your body to do great things??

or maybe you've looked into the eyes of a newborn and deep within your soul you felt your heart swell up and fill with joy and love and warmth as if YOU were reborn again! or felt special inside because an infant looked at you and smiled and opened his or her arms out to you to hold...were you not feeling so blessed and so grateful that you were alive at that moment?

or perhaps, you were taking a midday nap on a lazy sunday afternoon and were enchanted by Vivaldi's 'Summer'? and felt so lucky for having intact hearing and not missing out this great masterpiece? and maybe on the same night you were deeply moved by listening to the 'Moonlight Sonata'?

or the voice of your parent on the phone responding lovingly and sounding touched and pleased by your simple "I love you"?

let's make this thread a celebration of life! list any and all things that bring you joy, gratitude, happiness, bliss, peace, tranquility....

we are celebrating being alive :)

The 3-D of it all from a place high up. (And, no, I don't mean freaking buildings - give me rugged terrain any day.) And of course wind.

Leaf.

Individual seeds of a pomegranate - like gems.

G-spot.

Snow flake. A creature (such as a doggy) gone amok in a whirlwind of snow flakes. Frost on windows.

Trickle that sometimes you can't actually tell to be moving, looks like sculpted ice or glass or something. Perfect equilibrium.

Serious look on faces of a bunch of people who know what they're doing, meeting in committee.

HYEBRUIN!what a great idea for a thread!So life affirming,good for you :)

Whatever it is that makes us feel happy and fullfilled and whole and loved and connected we should take a second and just say thank you..be it to God,be it to the universe...just enjoy it and say thank you....

STORMIG,you're funny...I must admitt I have never been thankful for anything that has to do with waxing! In fact I tell the woman who does my waxing that I wish tons of hair to sprout on her face everytime she hurts me!

Good idea bruin jan...

something new.

When i stand up on a cliff over 11000 ft in altitude from sea level, and look down at how literally insignificant the valley beyond really looks... it fills me with aww and amazement and really no words to describe, how nature is and will always overwhelm us. Just the feeling of helplessness against the forces of nature. I love it, because it shows that human are not exactly at the top of the food chain.

Also: when my little sister gives me a pachick cause i give her a stick of gum secretly from my mom... it is so HONEST and Lovely, and again, i cant even describe the feeling i get from it..

And, when i command my dog to sit, and he does, when i comand him to lay down and he does, when i command him to not eat, and he doesnt, bascially when i tell him to do something, and he understand, he comprehends.. it is amazing how we can communicate with animals other than ourselves, let it be sgn language with chimps, or ecocommunication with whales, or just the reaction of my dog to my facial expressions.. it is very amazing.. again goes back to the creation (not evolution) of nature. and again,

All the time/every day....just looking up at the sky sometimes...and feeling wind or rain...beeing out in a blizzard/snowstorm..and certainly with my kids doing whatever...sometimes I just stare at them (or listen to them talk) and marval...often with a tear in my eye...and I feel so lucky sometimes...anyway, great thread topic Bruin Jan! :wink_kiss:

My Mom's laugh....

Any of my friends succeeding

Cool air early in the morning

An empty 101 freeway on the way to work

The eyes of small children darting everywhere

Smiling at old Armenian ladies from Barskastan walking close through the streets of Burbank

Seeing an old college friend on the street in Downtown LA after like 4 years...

But, Maral, no pain, no gain. :D

I don't hurt much, though. Hard to believe with the way I turn red, my skin is so sensitive. I feel as you do the more intimate they get - I think next time I'm going to finish off at home by myself, with a deep breath now and then. :(

Yeah I actually sneak off and on that freeway. Leave for work at 630am and usually get to Downtown LA by 7ish, leave work at 4pm and get home anywhere between 430 and after 5! Depends on the flow of traffic, and Fridays are always a pain. But the reason I wrote that is because this morning it was practically empty at like 640am I couldn't believe it!
