America-Hye
EVERY elected US President, Democrat or Republican since 1960 has been from the South or West. Some may have been born in the North (Reagan and Bushes) but had their professional and political lives TOTALLY in the South or West. I mean, I'm all into conspiracy theories and all that, but I don't see this one. but then again, i'm not too knowledgeable about the history of U.S presidents. i apologise if i'm missing the point.. What's the clan called, btw? The clan of the immortal fools? I might just join in for the fun of it.. unless I don't qualify, not being the ignorant 100% Armenian and all that.. Dan
Dan is there anyone or any group of people you actually like? Not particularly. I am an objectivist. Â But like any/all human being/s, I must admit I am biased towards one group -- particularly the clan... err, I mean, your clan. I've always tried to fight my inclinations towards favouritism, but alas, your clan of ignorant and pretend-know-it-all and smarter-than-thou members has mesmerised me beyond any possible help now.. What does the Patriot act have anything remotly related to electing a Presidential canidate to office who for once have proven very pro Armenian bent even as a senator.Lot of canidates including Bush promised a lot but delivered nothing but with Kerry he has been delivering for real. I wasn't even looking for it.. but anyhow, the moral of the article is, IMO, would you vote for the "lesser of 2 evils" just cos well, obviously, he's probably "less evil", or would you refuse to vote for anyone, on the bases that all are evil and that's enough to disqualify them.. heh.. Mr. Clark is dead fish and it is time to wise up and vote for a winner. I wouldn't vote for Kerry. I would've PROBABLY voted for Dean (speaking hypothetically, since I'm not a U.S. citizen anyhow), but if it comes down to Bush vs. Kerry, it's a no-win situation for me. So I wouldn't vote for either.... http://armenians.com/forum/style_images/1/icon8.gif

Dan
Dan, would you be kind to explain or give at least few reasonable arguments why you would not vote for Kerry but before you do,I suggest do some google search on Kerry and the Armenian issues including his voting records on the Armenian Genocide issues. Sure, I will explain why I wouldn't vote for John Kerry. Happy reading!  John Kerry supports expanding our nation’s hate crime law. He supports efforts to provide equal justice for all victims of hate violence, regardless of their race, religion, sexual orientation, national origin, gender or disability I am against including sexual orientation in that list for hate crimes. Now that it has been put in place here in Canada, I can see how bad it is. Putting every possible thing on that list would cut down on what little freedom of speech that's left... it's quite annoying when a gay guy yells "hate crime hate crime" when someone disagrees with his lifestyle. It's not a crime to disagree. A candidate who advocates building a country of political correctness would not get my vote.  John Kerry is a cosponsor of the Employment Nondiscrimination Act, which extends and strengthens the right of Americans to work in discrimination-free workplaces, regardless of sexual orientation. In his first year in the US Senate, John Kerry drafted and introduced the Civil Rights Protection Act of 1985, which would have prohibited discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation. I disagree with this too. Being gay should NOT, I repeat, should NOT be something that comes into the workplace. Take that bedroom BS to the bedroom, not the workplace. I don't care who you f***, just don't make it be the thing around which MY life revolves (you can make your sex life the thing around which your life revolves, but please, keep that to yourself, don't bring it to the workplace. The workplace is not a place for showing sexuality). Actually same with the military. I don't see why someone needs to expose their sexuality (whether straight or gay) to everyone in the military. Just keep it to yourself. Referring to the inclusion of openly gay people in the military.  John Kerry received a 100 percent rating from the National Association of the Advancement of Colored People and the Human Rights Campaign for his work in support of civil rights during the 107th Congress. Does that National Association of the Advancement of Colored People include white people..? Or wait, us white folks are colourless.. Colour is better, eh?  For over 30 years, Title IX has helped open the doors of opportunity in education for millions of girls and young women. Title IX has enabled greater numbers of women and girls to participate in sports, receive scholarships, and obtain other important benefits that result from participating in sports. Despite this progress, the Bush Administration is considering many proposals to change Title IX that could undercut participation opportunities and scholarship dollars for women and girls, as well as other Title IX protections. John Kerry will defend Title IX and work to expand college opportunities for women. Affirmative action (and the quota system for admissions and scholarships) advocates will NOT, I repeat, will NOT get my vote. It's about time that those who deserve to be admitted or awarded scholarships got their rights. Rights, not privileges, is the key word here.  John Kerry believes that HIV/AIDS is the great public health and humanitarian crisis of our times – and a fundamental security issue. He believes that fighting AIDS – and tuberculosis (TB) and malaria, the other two most deadly global infectious diseases – must be at the forefront of America’s foreign policy and national security agendas. John Kerry will ensure that the United States truly leads the international community’s effort to combat the HIV/AIDS pandemic not through words but through deeds – through increased resources, programs driven by science not ideology, and tangible and meaningful support for multilateral efforts, particularly the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria. Programs -- such as what: sending more American tax dollars to Africa so that they can waste it and have more unprotected sex and breed more babies and spread AIDS? No thanks. What's done in Africa is done with. Fight AIDS in your own country first.  I can see HUGE parallels between John Kerry's platform and the Liberals during the provincial elections here in Ontario (reducing class size, etc.) Invest in Faith-based Solutions. John Kerry believes that a strategy for enhancing our common life in our cities should include room for faith-based solutions. While making certain to honor the Constitutional guarantee of separation of church and state, Kerry's faith-based initiatives will make communities and families stronger. Kerry will provide new funding and support for faith-based charities or centers that provide social services for our children, families, seniors, as well as HIV/AIDS education, shelter, and programs for ex-offenders, drug prevention and job training. Again, take your faith and personal beliefs in God or whatever the hell you believe in, off my body, out of the laws and out of my life, and stop wasting my tax money on such programs!!!!!  Strengthen Affirmative Action in Higher Education. The Bush Administration has fought to end affirmative action and has ignored the recent pronouncement of the Supreme Court that affirmative action in higher education is constitutional and that diversity in higher education is fundamental to our nation’s success. As President, Kerry will ensure that the Justice Department and the Department of Education provide leadership and assistance to colleges and universities seeking to implement fair and effective affirmative action programs. Diversity my ***. More like diversihell. Where the unskilled take the place of the skilled (much like the illiterate taking the place of educated people in immigration).  Enforce Equal Employment Laws. Unlike the Bush Administration, which has neglected its duty to fully enforce our civil rights laws, John Kerry will seek the strongest enforcement of our nation's equal employment laws since their enactment. He will ensure that all Americans regardless of race, gender or religion have a fair chance to work and excel by continuing his strong support of affirmative action.  He will also encourage Congress to overturn any recent court decision that has weakened our nation's fair employment laws. NO to affirmative action. It's probably the only reason I am against John Kerry. I don't care how gay positive the guy is. In fact, I don't even care how homophobic Bush is, as long as he doesn't support affirmative action. There are more important things than being "open-minded."  John Kerry believes that women have the right to control their own bodies, their own lives, and their own destinies. He believes that the Constitution protects their right to choose and to make their own decisions in consultation with their doctor, their conscience, and their God. He will defend this right as President. He recently announced he will support only pro-choice judges to the Supreme Court. Kerry also believes that we should promote family planning and health plans should assure women contraceptive coverage. This is the only thing I agree with in his platform, in addition to the investigation of POW/MIA. The rest of his platform is utter BS. As for the Armenian issue -- which president hasn't lied about the Armenian issue during his campaign...? I thought that's why Bush got all the Armenian votes -- because he sounded oh-so-pro-Armenian. If you think the relations between USA and Turkey are gonna go down the drain once Kerry becomes the president of USA, you're oh-so-wrong. Armat
All politics are local and in my "local concern" Kerry did an outstanding job suporting Armenian issues as a senator and that is more then enough credit referance as verses a mere lip service. In fact, the Armenian issue is of little significance IMO, because it won't make it to the top of the agenda of the elected president anyhow. And it should not. There are far more important issues that need to be addressed. And voting for a candidate just because he has had a great record with Armenians/Armenian issues is pretty dumb, IMO. That is why Armenians have not and will never be able to get what they want, in addition to being too disorganised and divided amongst themselves. Trust me, I think the Republicans are a bunch of bigots and pigs, but... I'm not about to give my vote to Kerry or any other Democrat for that matter just because of that (hypothetically speaking, of course).. It's against my morals. Jewish Friend
Dan-I don't agree with a lot of what you don't support, but you have impressed me with your thinking. I don't know why a person with your personal views "came out' on this board. I was not here when it happened obviously and you clearly do not want to be singled out for it in the "real world" or given extra attention. Well, then again. I never talk much about being a Yid Kid off the posting Boards..so I guess it is a computer thang. Yid Kid
