Armenians In Istanbul

I was in Istanbul not too long ago and met bunch of people there. Some of them are now involved in local politics. They seem to be happy whatever they are involved in BUT they have their kids out of that country already. Anyone I know or met during my stay, I told them to get out but for me it is easy to say since I no longer live there. I was approached by some 25 - 35 year olds, wanted to leave but cannot, can't get visa's to go anywhere.

The remaining Armenians are doing a very fine job looking after whatever schools and churches left. I am thankful to those people.

Of course, I am more thankful to my mom and brother who got me out of there.

Please note: Not every Bolsohay is "rich", has a summer house in Kinali (the island). Should anyone wishes to sponsor, bring in a fellow Armenian to their homes, provide for them until they are on their own feet, contact me, I'll get you some names.

I was a working class person, I am still a working class person here in Toronto, BUT a happier and safer one.

Regards,
