Nakharar
Just out of curiosity those last words by Willie Nelson (they may actually be his last words ) are they from his newly released song? I hope they won't harass him that much in the "abode of liberty".

Maral
I read of a man who stood to speak At a funeral of a friend. He referred to the dates on her tombstone From the beggining... to the end. He noted that first came her date of birth And spoke the following date with tears, But he said what mattered most of all Was the dash between those year. (1934-1998) For that dash represents all the time That she spent alive on earth... And now only those who loved her Know what that little line is worth. for it matters not, how much we own The cars...the house...the cash, What matters most is how we live and love And how we spend our dash. So think about this long and hard... Are there things you'd like to change? For you never know how much time is left, That can still be rearranged. If we could just slow down enough To consider what's true and real, And always try to understand The way other people feel. And be less quick to anger, And show appreciation more And love the people in our lives Like we've never loved before. If we treat each other with respect, And more often wear a smile... Remembering that this special dash, Might only last a little while . So, when eulogy's being read With your life's actions to rehash... Would you be proud of the things they say About how we spend our dash?
Sip
About how we spend our dash Dear Maral, I think I would rather spend my dash Driving to buffets with lots of cars and cash. and though your dash length story made my eyes mist The only length that really matters is of course my list. Maral
Sip,as long as you're happy and fulfilled, that's all that matters...that the dash is full of whatever you love is the goal Oh and btw,I swear you are the only person on this planet who goes to restaurants and takes pictures of what he is about to eat!!!!! I love to eat and I love to take pictures...never thought of taking pics of my food in the middle of a restaurant!!!

axel
So, when eulogy's being read With your life's actions to rehash... Would you be proud of the things they say About how we spend our dash? Reminds me of a Tolstoï short story I read a few years ago, "the death of Ivan Illitch". the last days of a dying man who contemplates the emptiness and futility of his life and realizes he has done everything wrong.
