How is that a hindrance to her future marriage if she doesn't tell? Or is there some kinda way of telling -- lol, I don't know about such things!! It’s about if someone has had sex with a guy or not and when you live in such a small place as Karabagh, you could have sex in the morning in Martuni and by lunchtime word has reach Shushi. Another thing that people think here is if your going to be the mother of ones children, you want that girl to be “clean” and “moral”. Not to say the guy is not sleeping around with every girl he can get his hands on even after the new wife is pregnant, since this is a mans world and supposedly it’s natural and acceptable to act this way. As for if there will be a painful sensation and blood the first time to prove ones virginity. Here that really does not prove anything since I have heard from quite a few people that there is a doctor in Mardakert that does a stitching job that can transform a women back into a girl. Armenian guys will pay to sleep with whores but won't marry a non-virgin but clean girl?? then girls shouldn't marry at all because God knows with what they might infect us! i wonder what it'd be like if we left our boyfriends/husbands because we found out they'd had a gf/s in the past and slept with her...what would they do then? go abroad to find “clean” girls? or kidnap and rape us perhaps? and if they think true Christian Armenian girls should be pure it means the guy has to be clean as well or if he’s not he shouldn’t diss the girl… they don’t even try to understand… oh and many think you don’t really need “love” or to get to know the person at first to get married because all you need is a “virgin” girl who will make babies for you or a good guy who doesn’t smoke, drink and likes to work hard…oh yeah their background (and sometimes relatives) counts big time. so if you want a pure girl from Armenia think about it first... i think people should marry someone they love and trust instead of going back in history and fretting about the past and what their mom will think about the girl if there’s no “Japanese flag” the next morning! There will be always someone demanding pure virginity (even without kissing) but the overall situation is not so bad at all I think the problem not in guys, but in parents. Just remember mothers telling their daughters that to keep virginity is a vital necessity, because without it nobody will marry. And that's how guys have this perception of a clean and good girl. None presumes they have to be "clean", even more they have to see everything So I don't think it is fair to blame the guys. Girls even don't try to explain the situation or fight, they just remember this phrase and that's it! Fortunately, nowadays the girls understand more the situation and there is no bloody vengeance for being not a virgin anymore. I don't know anyone from my friends who got married being a virgin. CheekY Posted January 9, 2004 Report Share Posted January 9, 2004 yeah i agree...it's also because of the parents... but here they don't really teach about sexuality much (neither do they at school...most kids skip school anyway) and most girls i know say their parents are too embarrassed to talk about it... some 17-18 year old girls don't even know what a condom is... wait but then how do they lose their virginity if they have no idea about such things? lol ok now i'm confused! does that mean the guys force them to do it? or convince them or something? I read a post from a guy whose mother back in her young days in Iran had a Persian friend who broke it while horse-back riding one day. She decided not to marry because no Persian man would take it well when the morning following the nuptual night there was no Japanese flag. All that said, some ladies' can be broken more than once. "japanese flag" a classic statement. It's always different. I know of virgins who didn't bleed the first night. But bled later........? I mean like waaay later, you can never tell. I don't by into popular opinon on purpose, too easy to get into trouble. I'm not a ho, so I don't want a ho, but i'm not looking for virgin girls per se. Realism is the key, and equality.
