Your Dream House

I am sorry guys that this topic does not belong here but I figured better being used then not at all since business section does not get used often.

As a kid and adult I always loved beautiful buildings. The shapes and tastes have changed in me over the years. As a young twenty year old I liked skyscrapers, modern buildings, skylights, minimal clatter, and open spaces but as I grew older I have grown to appreciate old buildings with character and in turn really value them. I often think about words like character and I know exactly what that means but very hard to define. In these examples I like to share my dream “house” with you. I like houses which leaves the viewer with intrigue, hidden rooms, ally ways, stairs that may take you to the roof and a great little light house or a meditation room in short you don’t see a box and nothing more then a box. What I like are structures which invite imagination, details, play with color, shapes, height, light etc.All which makes a character rich house. Ohh well some day…

What is your dream house?

:)

Seriously, I love the design of Amsterdam houses, especially the ones on the canals. Here's just four (one link, too big). You can find many more on google. I got a bit tired trying to find the really nice ones, but just to give an idea of the craziness and "disorder", but also beauty, IMO, of these rowhouses. Not sure if I would want to live in any of them though.

Yea - nice places - and I agree with what your saying Armat (of course our home is just the opposite - very open...which we like...but with kids in the house sometime you wish for a room very far away (with good sound insulation) - that maybe they can't fine their way out of - LOL)

And I first thought the house pic you posted was the "Winschester House" - familiar at all? It seems to meet your criteria pretty well...LOL

And Nairi - yeah way cool...but I don't think i could live there for ever - like more privacy...less noise...and unfourtunatly i've never been to Amsterdam (though your pics reminded me - very much - of homes in the French town of Honfluer where I have been - just gorgeous...)...I did once have an oppurtunity/invite to travel to Amsterdamn (when I was single)...got an invite from a Dutch military officer I met...and he promissed to take me all around town and show me an amazing time (to those red lighted window homes & such!)...sounded like great fun...regret i never took him up on the offer...

And Stormy - you forgot to specify a treehouse with electric and an internet connection...LOL
