Nané
The Balinese believe and strongly follow the belief that a person should always know at every second where he is, where he came from and where he is going. THey believe that your physical orientation and location has a direct effect on your spiritual orientation in the universe. If you are aimlessly wanderig about, then you must ot have much direction in life. THey plan all trips even to grocery stores, etc. so that they are always able to "maintai themselves- mentally and spiritually - at the intersection between a vertical and horizontal line, in a state of perfect balanc". Meaning someon who has no sense of direction while driving, walking, sense of where he is headed means he is also lost whitin himself. His soul has not found it's rightful direction or has strayed so far off path that he is lost in all meaning of the word. * Today as I got lost for the umpteenth time on the freeway, it hit me like a lightbulb...this is exactly what is wrong with my life. I need really good directions! And Mapquest ain't the answer. * Taken from eat, pray and love by E. Gilbert. Really loved this book.
Em
I did as well. Thanks to Ani! She presented it to me as part of my Christmas present. I usually devour books. I will stay upl nights just to get to the end. But, as I told her as well, this book took me a very long time to finish. I wanted to examine certain things she brought up. I wanted those ideas to have a chance to rest in my head so that I could give them the attention they deserved. Certain parts of the book spoke to me on a very personal level. Loved it . Regarding the author and her simplistic writing approach- I like her candidness and her overall outlook on life. I have to remember to loan my copy to Ani. She has to read it too! ASAP! She is so like that...she bought everyone a copy except for herself.

Ashot
My impression of today - Wednesday, April 9th 2008. To begin with I slept at around 5:30 am as usual, and woke up to go to work late at 9:15 as usual... We had a lot to do at work, and me being dead tired was not easy, but I managed trough!!! After work I came home to find out that "someone" very special to me is on the way to come and pick me up, since I was tired I let the special "someone" drive me today! So we left at 8pm - I just got back home, and I have so much energy in me that I could kill an elephant right now. Indeed today was an interesing day - it was one of those days when you just don't want to leave, you want to stay and enjoy every single second of it... But too bad that the day ends so fast, and everyone must take off to their homes. Too bad that this life is so hard to manage that we have to only dream sometimes, eventhough some dreams may come true, just like today with me and the special "someone"!!! All I can say is - IT WAS GOOD, there are no words to describe how sometimes things can be so good, nice, sweet and awesome!!! So all I can say is Thank you "Someone" Edited April 10, 2008 by Ashot

Zara
hope you get some sleep soon Edward. You could always try exercising a little before you sleep. Take a walk, do some push-ups, or something. Personally, I need a week-long nap right now. No bathroom or water breaks. Nothing. Just serious, hardcore nap time. Whenever I feel like this I feel the need to relax a little. I got a friend to forget about pain when she hurt her ankle by showing her how to do this. You guys can try if you’d like. Read all of it and then try. It’s hard to see with your eyes closed. Here we go: Make yourself comfortable. Sit, lay down, get in ‘Childs Pose’, whatever you want. I like to walk while I do this except without closing my eyes. For obvious reasons. Breath deeply and slowly. Close your eyes. Cover them if you have to. Try to block out all the noises you don’t like. Traffic, airplanes, yelling, ambulances, police sirens, washing machines, weird country music sung by some old hick. Anything annoying or unpleasant. Now focus on what you want to listen to. Birds singing, the wind rushing past your face, crickets chirping, classical music, your own breath, complete silence. Anything pleasant. Don’t speak or utter a sound. The only things you should hear should come from your own body and what you like. All you have to do is focus, breath, and relax. Takoush
Zara djan, that was a very good sleeping technique. I usually have no problem sleeping, except if I would have had traumatic experience the previous day, a very important day to follow like a new job or if I'm in pain or if I have eaten heavily soon before sleeping. But there was one technique in your previous post that I didn't agree with... never never do heavy exercise before sleeping, otherwise it'll prevent you from sleeping. I believe you must exercise 3 or 4 hours before sleeping to have a sleepless night. Ge housam vor mer shat sireli քեռին grtsav knanal yerek kisher. Zara
It's more relaxation than sleeping but relaxing helps people sleep. So, I guess so. Imagine sleeping while you're stressed out. Takes forever. Maybe never. going for a walk is heavy exercise? Sometimes I exercise less than an hour before sleeping and I usually sleep very well. But I guess it doesn't work with some people because they aren't used to increased blood flow before sleeping. It's understandable. Anyway. Impressions of the Day Last week was the best week of this year so far. Period. I even found two dresses and two pairs of shoes in one day. But today started off on a bad note. I got into an argument which is kind of rare for me. later on I saw a young boy dumpster diving. Finally, I got hit in the face. Other than that my day was fine. I think I'm still on last weeks high points. Edited April 14, 2008 by Zara
