Yervant1
ARMENIAN SCHOOLCHILDREN HAVE UNPRECEDENTED SUCCESS IN INTERNATIONAL OLYMPIADS: ARMEN ASHOTYAN10:09, 31 July, 2015YEREVAN, JULY 31, ARMENPRESS. Armenian schoolchildren have hadunprecedented success in international Olympiads in recent year.Minister of Education and Science of Armenia Armen Ashotyan said inhis interview with Armenpress that the Armenian schoolchildren won14 medals in three Olympiads. The Minister noted:"We always try to set a national benchmark for us as to what the recordwill be in terms of medals. For years the record has been 14, 15, 16medals, last year it was 19, the result was unprecedented. I don't knowwhether it will be repeated or not. But in the 3 Olympiads our childrenhave already proved that they are competitive, that Armenia's educationsystem, despite having some issues, is still competitive. We have manygood schoolchildren, good educational opportunities. Unfortunately, the latter is not so widely spread, but the schoolchildren's successwitnesses the effectiveness of the reforms in the field of education."According to Armen Ashotyan this has great political implications."Countries become proud of Olympic or other sports medals, we mustlearn to be proud of medals won in Olympiads in the field of education, this is no less honorable. Maybe these are not so vibrant but aremore profound and can be viewed from the position of creating thecountry's reputation.", stated Armen Ashotyan.http://armenpress.am/eng/news/813835/armenian-schoolchildren-have-unprecedented-success-in-international-olympiads-armen-ashotyan.html

Yervant1
Armenian student's essay was appraised in SwitzerlandOctober 17 2015The 9th-grade student of `Armenian Education' school, TatevBarseghyan, recently, was granted a special certificate from theUniversal Postal Union international jury. With her composition, shetook part in the Correspondence international competition, the themeof which selected for this year was `Tell us about the world you wantto grow up in.' In the conversation with Aravot.am, Tatev said thatshe was awarded the `Jury's Sympathy' and a certificate. `Therequirement was to compose the thoughts in the range of 600-800 wordsand to talk about the world in which one would like to live and growup. Incidentally, the essay should be in the form of a letter-writingand addressed to someone. I have written with pleasure, I have writtenthat we should not fall into despair, we should keep going ahead andbe sure that your goals will come true. It is important to listen tothe voice of the heart,' said the student. Tatev's Armenian languageteacher, Lilit Bakhshyan, said that two students from theireducational complex, Ellen and Tatev, have sent an essay, and Tatev'sessay was selected. `Tatev is a very emotional person, she sings welland is a deep personality. I was extremely happy that her essay won.Prior to sending, Tatev's mother had translated the essay into Englishbecause there was such a requirement. In the meantime, we worked withTatev very kindly and became close friends. One thing is clear if youdoing something with love, the result becomes wonderful. The jury inSwitzerland has selected just one essay from each country.Incidentally, we were told at the `Haypost' that Armenian hadparticipated in the competition of the Universal Postal Union and hasnever won any award. Tatev is the first that brings an award to ourcountry.'Gohar HAKOBYANRead more at: http://en.aravot.am/2015/10/17/172525/
