henry
Is it worth fighting over girl, why or why not? [ February 20, 2002: Message edited by: henry ]
Hyeflyer
HenryIf you have to fight for anothers affection it is not worth the fight or the bloddy nose.In the long run you will still lose that girls affection.Or she could be a drama queen and thrive on your reaction to others being attracted to her.Is it worth the blody nose?Or you will tire of fighting and realize it was a lost cause from the begining. Harut
of course you have to fight to get something.the girl is not going to fall in your arms just like that. but fight not with your wrists, but with your heart and brain. Sip
quote:Originally posted by henry:Is it worth fighting over girl, why or why not?I think it comes down to what you mean by "fighting"... it could have many meanings ... do you mean physical fight, verbal fight, on-going aggressive behavior, etc? I would think that in some instances you have to "fight" for a girl which in my mind means to try hard to win her affection and trust... this could mean many things but it does not mean to go in a direct conflict with the competition (physical or verbal). That would not work too well in my opinion and is not worth it.But to "fight" as in try hard to impress a girl by being overly nice, considerate, and sometimes aggressively pursuing a girl maybe a good thing ... I am no expert though

Finding a soulmate is not a hunting expedition or an opportunity for displaying superiority over other candidates. Having said that, ancient evolutionary pressures might have slipped into the human nature the tendency to encourage competition among potential mates in order to select the fittest one (so that the progeny have a better chance of survival, having inherited superior genes). Modern evolutionary pressures may be defined more by our intellectual and spiritual needs. Therefore, eliminate the jerks that pit you against other "candidates" from your list. Thus you would be contributing to the positive evolution of humanity .
Hyeflyer
HenryEither you are ment for each other or you are not.To judge if a relationship is going to weather the test of time look at how it starts. If it is a fight in the begining it will be a fight to the end.If it starts out naturally with a smoth transition into a stronger bond it will be a fairly smooth relationship that will grow stronger by the day.Life is to short to wast fighting for someones attention and affection,It is either given freely or not at all. nellie
Answer this question.Would we still have our beautiful country if we, or our ancestors, hadn't fought for it??I say probably not.sometimes, we have to fight to keep what's ours. (fighting doesn't mean physically fighting). It's the same situation in relationships.don't get a broken nose fighting for a girl you met at the movies last week and think is cute, but if you're in a relationship with her, sometimes, if not often, she's worth the fight. hasmiek
quote:Originally posted by henry:[QB]Is it worth fighting over girl, why or why not? When you're just in the beginning of a relationship and there is already fighting needed (verbally, physically (for her), with her or other people...) then it's probably not worth it. She should choose for you without hesitation (and you for her, of course).
Hyeflyer
Dear NellieNo things dont fall off the tree of life in your lap.Love is like fruit from a tree.Someone picks it for youA arranged marriage. You go shopping for it but still someone else has pick it for you.Or you go to the tree and pick it your self. The fruit you pick is the sweetest. Juggernaut
Dont fight in front of your girlfriend, unless you are certain of victory (this applies to both physical and verbal). Also some girls dont like guys that behave agressivelly towards others.

Aneway, when guys fight over a woman, it's often not really for the woman, but more for the chance to "prove" what a great big man they are, in a primitive way, or for the girl as a possession. Taling about losing the respect of the girl, the guys will not really have that much respect for her as a person at the end of it, really.
