Bakersfieldian
I'm sorry if I go on a bit long or tell too much but I am still in shock from last night. A bit about me; I'm a mid 30's single, work at home father (I raise my 4 year old son by myself full time and love it!!!) who set a pesonal rule of no dating for minimum 1 year. The focus of my life are my son and my business. I feel extremely blessed with both. Last night I went on a date for the first time since........ OK, a very, very long time. She was an Armenian girl from the Valley.Cute, a beautiful smile, and sounded real nice over the phone. We went to dinner which appeared OK. Next she wanted to go to a bar. This was a total mistake! After a few drinks, she turned evil! Her language turned into a constant barrage of different and repeated versions of the F word. I will say it is interesting to see how many ways you can use that term. Noun, verb, adjective, pronoun, etc.. Either way, I was not amused. There was a friend of mine at the bar who was in the US Navy for 12 years. He said she must have been taking language lessons from the Marines because he never heard even a sailor speak with such vulagity. Combine that with her extreme volume, it was site for which I lack words to describe. The night ended with me driving her home (despite her behavior, I didn't ditch her. Probably a mistake). The whole way there she kept demanding I get a couple of 6 packs so we could party at her house. I didn't. Instead I just drove up to her apartment building where she proceeded to take 30+ minutes to find her keys. Meanwhile, Mexicans are walking by and staring in the car at me and the loud, foul mouthed, Armenian drunk. This is the closest I have come to actually walking around to the other side of the car and dragging a woman out by the hair (at least that was going through my mind. I was running out of options.) After telling her numerous times I could not (I had to go pick up my son from my fathers house)and would not go up stairs with her, she finally just slobbered a kiss on my cheek and got out of the car. Woohoo!!!! I finally got away!!! My question is.......... What has happened to Armenian girls??? Is this behavior common now??? any other input you might have is welcome. sen_Vahan
Weeeeeeeeeeeeell, it was just an example.... I mean people are different, so are the arm girls... Another thing is that alcohol is not good for everybody.... I also met an armenian girl yesterday (i met her first time) in Ann Arbor. She is from Erevan, and was very - very nice, beautiful! See.... khodja
Bakerfieldian, You Bakersfield-Fresno Armenians are such a prudish, backward bunch. This Armenian girl was just drunk. I suggest that you go to Yerevan and find a traditional Armenian girl. OOPS, I forgot that so many Armenian girls in Yerevan are feeding themselves and their children through employment as prostitutes. GET OVER IT, her "f" words were probably just her subconscious way of letting you know that she wanted to sleep with you.
Bakersfieldian
quote:her "f" words were probably just her subconscious way of letting you know that she wanted to sleep with you.No, she was pretty overt. As far as prostitution, she was giving it away. I just wasn't taking. btw, I'm from LA and now live in Bakersfield. The fact that I am Orthodox Christian might have something to do with being turned off by that. Just maybe.
khodja
Now I am beginning to understand why I am so different from most of you other Armenians. Although my grandparents had been Armenian Catholic or Armenian Orthodox, I was raised in an odar Protestant Church in a community with a large number of Jews, in a rather liberal part of the USA. Samjan
Hagarag, There are many Armenian girls who have been forced into prostitution in Yerevan and abroad to support themselves, their children and their family due to the current difficult situation in Armenia. Similarly, there are others in the same situation all over Eastern Europe and the former USSR. I am quite sure that the overwhelming majority of them are not happy with their present lives. I do not know if you yourself have been in a similar situation but I do not think that you should refer to them in such a manner just to win a small point in an argument. Sip
Well, to hagarag's defense, I think he was (rightly so) trying to point out that being of a certain race does not indicate what "kind" of person one is. In any race, there are good ones and there are bad ones. Being Armenian does not necessarily mean better or holier than anyone else. So the fact that the girl was "Armenian" to begin with probably had nothing to do with the whole story (the fact that she had very poor manners). khodja
Samjan, These women don't have to do this. I have worked from the age of five when I sold goods door to door. I then worked a large newspaper route in a very hilly neighborhood. I have worked at everything, even cleaned toilets. I have never sold my body in any way. I have had many older women and even a few men proposition me for $ at resorts. The daughter of one of America's wealthiest Armenians was enomored with me, but even though she was very attractive, I was not in love with her so I did not pursue the relationship. My cousin's husband even called me "sarsakh" after this episode. There are ways of making money honorably other than selling one's body. khodja
Thank you Harut, for setting the record straight. There is the same diversity in the Diaspora, only some do not want to accept this.
Samjan
Hagarag, Do you not think that most of these girls know that there are ways to make money honourably? I am sure most of the time have tried to do so and have resorted to prostitution as a last, and not first, resort.
sen_Vahan
"No Hagarag jan, it is not for me. I just wanted to get the number to pass it on to Harut." .... hagarag jan, you have not been to Moscow.... In that city you can find soooooo many girls behaving like that.... By the way, Armenian guys in Moscow like it very much.... As for Arm girls, they do not!Axgikner unenk, ashxar' chuni! BA!?!? (Harut, sorry for the plagiarism. khodja
Sen_Vahan, I have been to Yerevan and to the Armenian Quarter of Jerusalem, as well as Athens Armenian community and throughout France. But I have never been to Moscow. If the men in Moscow like it so much, then some Armenian men are a bunch of hypocrites, wanting virgin wives but frequenting prostitutes. " Hagarag, in most cases I don't agree with you, but this is really a good point. I agree about arm guys wanting virgin wives and frequenting prostitutes. On the other hand, most of them (most of us) find non-armenian girls (for example, in Moscow) more attractive and that's probably the reason why they (not we... ) hang out with other girls. The problem is that arm guys and girls come to Moscow from Armenia with own traditions and way of thinking and appear in a completely different cultural (behavoral) place. Of course, an arm guy wants to hang out with a nice girl from Moscow. As for an arm girl, she is thought to "keep herself" for only one man. In this sense, Arm girls turn out to be more traditional and morally rigid than guys ... At least in most cases. So, in my opinion, how arm girls behave today in diaspora mainly depends on us - arm guys.Vahan
Harut
Thank you Azat for your effort. ------- i must say that this Armenian girls thing mainly exists outside of Armenia.almost nobody in Armenia thinks this way (if you are true Armenian girl blah, blah...).yes, they expect good manners from women, but that has nothing to do with nationality. i think this narrowmaidness that gets into most of Armenians outside is because they try so hard to keep their identity that they create these unusual stuff to be different (if you are Armenian you must do this, blah, blah, blah....) if fact in Armenia people range form rock fanatics to rappers, from inteligent professors to thevies and criminal, from virgins until marrige to prostituts, from body builders to nerds, from conservative "papikner" to liberal "yeritasardner",and so forth.and this is part of normal development of the society. and believe or not, they are all Armenians. Yes, there are armenian girls who behave in such a manner - in America, in Armenia and all over the world. And again, there are many many armenian girls who frown at such behavior. In short, good luck next time
