  1. Thanks Kazza, much appreciated, I'll check this site out. By the way, I'm in London, England not London, Canada. Kind regards
  2. Can you give some details of this Armenian film festival in London please? Where, when etc perhaps you know of a website, I would really like to check this out. thanks
  3. Rouben, Why do you say they are anti-Armenian in Holland? What have they done? I had not heard of anything?
  4. The news in UK is ridiculous, we live in London and we never heard a peep about this, not even a tiny footnote in one of the respected main nespapers. Even a search on the internet only found references to it in Russian based websites. OK, perhaps a bomb attack on the Armenian embassy is not as newsworthy as one on the US or French embassy but surely it merits some attention?
  5. Could be, but the people I spoke to take it very seriously. Anyone with Russian or Georgian connections out there who can comment?
  6. When I studied history at school we learnt that Stalin was born a son of a poor Georgian cobbler married to a Georgian woman. Stalin's father used to beat him regularly and severely. However, I have heard several times in Yerevan and from Armenians in London that Stalin's mother had an affair with an Armenian man and he actually fathered Stalin. For this reason, Stalin's father used to beat him and it is said he (Stalin) grew up with a fierce hatred of the Armenians which drove him to hand over the ancient Armenian lands to the Turks in the 1920s, establish Karabagh as an autonomous region in Azerbaijan and exact retribution from the Armenian population as a whole during the dark days of the 1920s and 1930s. Can anyone comment on this story? As I said I have only heard this from Armenians but I also do not know any Georgians or Russians whose opinions I could seek.
  7. Does anybody know who can provide this in the UK?
  8. Hagarag, Do you not think that most of these girls know that there are ways to make money honourably? I am sure most of the time have tried to do so and have resorted to prostitution as a last, and not first, resort.
  9. Hagarag, There are many Armenian girls who have been forced into prostitution in Yerevan and abroad to support themselves, their children and their family due to the current difficult situation in Armenia. Similarly, there are others in the same situation all over Eastern Europe and the former USSR. I am quite sure that the overwhelming majority of them are not happy with their present lives. I do not know if you yourself have been in a similar situation but I do not think that you should refer to them in such a manner just to win a small point in an argument.

    Buy Armenian

Yes, lets buy Armenian products but you can't find them! In my opinion, Armenian brandy, coffee and (of course) Jermouk are amongst the best in the world but you can't find them outside Armenia. We are very willing to buy Armenian goods, not just to support Armenia, but because we truly desire these products. However, something has to be done about the global marketing of these products. I understand, Jermouk is now being sold in the UAE and successfully as well. Why can't this be done elsewhere?
  11. Hagarag, Your reply was well-informed and intelligent but why did you have to spoil it in your last sentence by generalising about all Arabs and writing off Khashishian's opinion without a moment's thought?
  12. I want to say to everyone out there that this is one of the best movies I've seen in my life. Excellent story, script, characters, acting, simply fantastic!! Worthy of an award!
